This gamer has a workaround for save game crashes - you may want to try it out. https://forums.galciv2.com/?ForumID=162&AID=111919#860262 You are running with a less powerful CPU, though GC2 should run on it. Have you checked system temps - a lot of time a les capable processor will really work hard to run newer software; and it heats up very fast. If your cooling system is not up to snuff you will have issues. Try Speedfan , a freewa

I saw in another post you did BG stuff or Star Trek stuff with actual pixs from the show - I'm sure this is a legal copyright issue if SD were to post it - they probably don't want to go there. If you were to post it on an independent Fan site there is less of a chance for the lawyers to get involved - but SD is a successful high profile company since the SF incident and would be a target for the sharks. At least I know I will eventually

Np - I didn't see anything out of the ordinary on your hardware/os side - that would be the only thing I could help with so I didn't reply right away. But now I will know what that .png stuff is in case it happens to me....thank you!

In the game there is a check box on the upgrade screen right below the picture on the top left - check it and it will tell you how much that will cost. Careful though, this will upgrade ships that are far away - and they may take a long time to upgrade. Make sure you don't need them for awhile - and while upgrading I beleive they only have 1 hitpoint and are defenseless against any aggressive AI who strolls buy and decides to cherry pick...

Speed only matters on freigters while getting there to set up the route. However other thingsseem to work - at least sensors. I have strated putting more sensors on them becasue it increases theeir view when deep in AI space. I am going to try shields next to see if that increases their survivabily a bit - at least it may force the aI to use a better ship to kill it thus taking one away from the front lines so to speak.

Yikes! your graphic card drivers are very old --- update them if possible - ( i see it is an internal Intel chipset - This may be hard to do....you may want to look at getting a standalone card) I alos see your system memory being reported a s 504MB - this is a bit strange - usually it is 512MB - or a value dividable by 32. You may want to run a mem test to see if you ahve a bad stick - that would definately cause issues.

Just curious - I posted a ship mod pack about 3 days ago - someone else wanted me to post it at another site but I don't want to do that unless it is rejected here. But I would like to share it if it is not going to be approved here...how long before I get an answer one way or another? Thanks in Advance for any feedback!

Can't you just use the upgraded design as a base and save the new one with a different name? That is what I've been doing with my base hulls up to now anyway - use 'em once and obsolete them til next game, and use the new upgrades to build upon. ( I don't make any jewelry changes anyway - just components.) I keep a copy of my clean ship folder with just base designs so that I can 'clean' the current one out by deleting it after every game anyway....

Shhhh.....don't wake the gremlins.... BTW, it is not always SD's fault - the other day their Service provider had a router that was really misbehaving - I ran some simple tracerts and it had horrible response times - consistently over 325ms in some cases for hours at a time....

The second video driver is very very old - I assume this is built into you MB? If the game is trying to run on that monitor and card combo, you will have issues as it will not support the current video stuff. Also, upgrade to at least ver 1.0x - it is much more stable. Also, update to XP sp2 - you will get much better support for two monitors. BTW, why are you running the internal card anyway - doesn't the GFx 5200 support two monitors? You may need the special adaptor

John Varley is very good. His Gaen Trilogy is classic. (Titan, Wizard, Demon.) Also, I loved Steel Beach. Very very good, though perhaps not for the more puritanical. http://www.varley.net/

Well, if you want the enemy planet to revolt, it must be in the ring. If you want to pacify an protestors and prevent your planet from revolting, then put it in the ring. Remember, it will not do anything at all until you add the influence modules.

You do get more notices as you get more espionage experience - But I agree that you don't get enough. It is tiresome to have to check the Foriegn Relations screen every turn to see if a war is in progress. I don't like to trade all the time, and end up forgetting to check for long stretches of the game. A few games ago the Drath surrendered ---- and I never even knew they were fighting anyone. Ended up opening up the back door to my empir

It's better for me in 1.1 b2. The scrollbar issue I have is on the window to the right where the improvements being built are - it is hard to get that one to work at times when there are a lot of improvements in the queue.

I know there is an issue with non-English versions of XP - but I don't know the details or what the fix is (there is one). You may want to search the forum, or send an email to Stardock support.

I haven't noticed this behavior - are you saying they don't hold their values? Or that you have to re-set the lock combination when you adjust them? In the second case, you should not lose or gain money unless you consciously re-adjust them. I have noticed that the amount of money shown at the right for Social and Military will change even if the Bar for that type of Production is locked will change now due to the rollover affect for both types of prodcuction; or if you hav
