I too would like just a little more clarification. The acutal blurb on this in the game seems to suggest that you get things that others are unable to get . I don't know what that might be, but I would like to know that the bonus does actually do something, even if I don't see it outright. Come on devs, pleeeeese? Does this work or is it like the PQ bonus (which I hear is fixed now)?

Why stop at planets? Heck, lets blow up stars! Through a massive chunk of some exotic metal into a star and watch it go nova! Boom! No more planets in that system. Those arguing for a 'realistic' option are only going to get so far since its a game, and not real life. I for one wouldn't mind if they put in some orbital bombardment options, but only if it didn't decimate the entire planet. It would be nice to cause some heartache for th

@ sendeth: While others in this forum are being respectful and curtious to you despite the fact that they happen to disagree with your idea, you are demonstrating an amazing lack of respect in return. While you want others to treat you fairly even when they disagree, you should do the same.

I have recieved an event in many of my games declaring that someone has stolen all the techs from another race and wants to sell them to me for a complete system. I have not found any way to capitalize on this information. I am sure I am just missing something important, so please feel free to point it out. How do I get all these wonderful techs?

I've had this event to but my race didn't fade away. In fact, it finished 2nd in the game (If you call being the last one AI wiped out second). @Spaceno93: You saying that you, the human player, did recieve this event?

If I am not mistaken, you can decommision a starbase. Just select the starbase and you should see the command option on the left of the descriptive section. You get some money back (not enough to make it economically advantageous, by far), and the starbase disappears. I think he was asking if he coul

In my game, the AI failed to take many of the planets simply because I could out produce them. I don't use the Luck ability, but I do have the PQ ability. That, of course, didn't effect any of those planets at all. I kinda like the PQ7 boost. Anything more and I would have thought too easy, anything less and it would have been almost pointless. Right now, all of them are building: factory, factory, farm, economy, entertainment, research. Figure

Trouble with x64 is that the x86 apps (this game for instance) tend to use a bit more ram than they would in x86 windows. That's the price of progress I guess. I have found that my rig sometimes has some trouble, especially when running at end of turn or music loop. Specs: 3700+ SD, 3GB DDR400 CAS2.5, ATI R1600XT 256 I've caught it peaking at 3.8GB on a massive map! Of course, my ships tend to get a little larger than I intend;

I have noticed that in early game, building econ bases for the trade only is a big help. As soon as I start upgrading the production side on them, I start spending more money. When I am building basic improvments on 20+ planets at once, it eats a lot of money. I guess I am a major production stratagy guy myself. I like to have only a few defenders per planet until someone decides I look like an easy kill. Then I suddenly crank out 25 large ships i

I have culturally overpowered many of the Iconian's planets, however one seems to be overly stubborn. They colonized a small PQ5 planet 1 system away from Earth (I'm Terrian obviously) early in the game. I didn't care much since it is a PQ5 and easly defeated with my mighty Wal-Mart stores, but alas! it is not revolting! Currently I have 62.5 or some such times the influence on the planet. I have purchased ALL of their mining bases, inclu

I'm playing a gigantic map, close star clusters, and all the races and got myself a nice little chunk of the map. All of a sudden, the Iconians (who I'm fighting a culture war with) get a random event in the middle of their territory. All uninabitable planets within 6 sectors are instantly converted to PQ7! Since I am the galactic leader in both manifaturing and economy, I'm all over it. Suddenly I've got 15 colony ships flying like crazy

I believe the ethical alignment of the the race that is attacking vs that of the attakee has something to do with it. Certain alignments prefer to surrender to other certain alignments. I think nutral and good prefer good, and evil will do anything to to turn good. Of course, I could be wrong on that.

For what it's worth, the initial question of this thread about AI and building governors has yet be answered... Due to a mistake while trying to edit this post into the proper forum, a duplicate was made. Link You ca

That makes sense to me. I know that I often try to research two or three tech levels at once for some buildings. This way I have the third level researched before they are built. Certainly saves me a lot of time! It seems reasonable that this could be applied to NLCs as well. Perhaps I am missing something though. There could be a very good reason the devs designed it in this way.

@ johnsje: I don't know if the AI does this already, but it seems that what you are wanting is for actual ability to do any damage at all from a single ship to be included in the fire priority calculations. Perhaps that would be enough to resolve the issue with your play style. Ability for ships to b

The devs rarely reply, even to quick and reasonable questions. I agree that this statement is quite out there. The devs are _very_ active on this forum.

Sorry for the mix up. I was trying to edit the original post to move it here, but it is just so darn stubborn sometimes;) Like I say, I give up.

I like the way you did it. Things are sure easier to see than otherwise, I can certainly understand that. I guess I didn't realize you researched the psionic bean so soon. I thought it was at the very end of the tech tree. I have yet to see it in a game.

I am moving this post here, where I intended it to be to begin with. Hoping for a dev response... I noticed that my governor on each planet just queues up the next available upgrade when it becomes available. I most often move my factories from the bottom of the list to the top, sense that will usually finish the rest faster than if I just finished them fi
