@Skelton: That makes sense. I guess I hadn't thought of that, though I have caught myself doing that before. It would be nice if the list did not scroll back to the top each time you selected a new tile, just for crazy folks like me who are click happy. Thanks for the answer.

I was playing the 'seige' campiagn last night. I was playing alot, over and over even. Yes, really. I got my butt handed to me many many times. I prefered 'normal' difficutly. At first I thought that since any shot fired from a dread lord at my ship ment certain death, cargo hulls were the same as normal. They just hold more weapons and engines so they can get first shot and win before dying. Nope. Logistics limit that far too much. So then I think (new game), why no
I know this topic has been covered before, but I can't find it anywhere. Someone care to direct me? I come across it last night and took a screen shot, but forgot to save it after I closed the game. *doh!* When invading a Yor planet, I ended up with 0 troops remaining, and they ended up with 0 troops. I don't mind this outcome, in fact I would really like it if it meant that no one was left. Then anyone could take it without a fight. On the other hand, they Yor still had it, and
Ah, well thanks for the info. Looks like I should open my eyes when playing the game. Why wasn't there a notice about eyes in the manual? Maybe I should sue...
I've been noticing as of late that it seems that I keep building the Resturaunt of Eternity without ordering its construction. I just get a message that says someone has built it, and that someone is me! Maybe I'm just forgetting I asked for it, but I don't think so. Anyone else have this issue?
Most likely this was caused by not checking through code that the dialog had been displayed before trying to move onto the anomaly again. In other words an infinate loop. I'll be the fix that was made will fix both issues. Thanks Stardock for the great support!!
If I want someone to surrender, I usually take their homeworld and other planets of the same system, and any capitals they have. Once those are out, they usually just give up. This is especially true if you have trashed their military fleets. Get their military rating under 10, and most will just give in without a homeworld. Just from my observations, I don't think the last player in the game will surrender to you. It appears, anyway, that the intent was for you to have to crush t
bump... I am wondering this too.
bump...
My problem is not the price, but just as FrogBoy said, no one to play against. I'd hate to see the rest of the budget go into multi player and nuver use it, and it would take a lot of the budget.
As I understood it, you don't have to spend any money to steal techs. In fact, you don't recieve any benefit at all from spending money after that point. I could be wrong though I guess.
I recently decided to try out a few waypoints set up on starbases for quick upgrades. Turns out that when I am done, I can't get rid of the waypoints. Anyone find a way to select a waypoint at a starbase? I tried clicking several times to cycle around to it, but to no avail.
That is not a bad idea. The only issue I see with it is that I go through a great deal of effor to not write on paper;) I carry a PDA for that. Guess I'll just have to break down and write it down.
I can spend quite a bit of time on one turn when playing on large maps. Sometimes, I even save and return in the middle of a turn. I know, I know... not a good idea. Anyway, sometimes I forget what happened at the beginning of the turn. You know, events and what have you. Any way to go back and review the list again? If not, it would be a great addition for 1.2.
there is a build button next to the constructor's image on the bottom middle of the screen.
I have reieved 987bc once. Nothing over that though. The AI gave me ships once, but by the time they reached me I had already whiped out the enemy. I just put them on the closest planet assigned to transport target practice.
I'm doing my bit for word of mouth as well. It is great news that GalCivIII is looking good! I agree with others on the magazine ads too. The folks that come on here flaming because they havn't bothered to update their drivers are the ones that pay attention to those ads. The rest of us are usually intelligent enough to think before we buy (and post!).
There is also trouble with making the AI understand such commands and act appropriately on them. Just as with every other part of the game, the options are useless if the AI can't make use of them effectively.
Ah! Well that does explain it, doesn't it? Thanks!
Bump so it is seen. By the way, even without them I managed to research ECM II through Droid Sentries III in two turns! (Normal research rate) I am wondering how much faster I'd go with the learning centers.
I decided to become neutral for this game after I already had all but the last research facility techs. I thought that I'd build a few and get some great bonuses instead of the usual stuff, and what?! Its not there??! There are no Learning Centers. How do I get these things? Did I miss something? I'm playing on 1.0X for this game.
In my game I found that a single influence resource mining facility was enough to turn the tables on me. They had not researched more than the first in the line for influence, and were still winning me over. I had three starbases and the Star Federation government (it gives you a bonus too). I bought their fully upgraded mining base and then their planets were mine. You won't necissarily get the planet just because you have over 4x the i
I believe this was fixed in the latest beta.
I agree, those darn Torians are always causing trouble. But my worst is the drath. They are the only race that consistantly keeps up with me.
I kinda like the idea of it ending up at 0-0. That could leave the planet open to invasion by anyone. Now wouldn't that be interesting?
