Well done, grayhaze.
Very sorry to see this news, jarget...
There is a setting in WindowBlinds to display the wallpaper if it is included with the skin, but even when a wall is included with the skin it doesn't always apply in my experience at least. Then I go to the specific skin directory in Explorer, find the skin and apply it manually. So it depends on the situation. But as noted, often the skin is not included. Usually the skinner will mention when it is included with the skin or link to a download site. <A HREF="https:
Or to be really rude and evil, there could be a sticky thread with just a link inside and when clicked you hear the song "..you're no good, you're no good, you're no good, baby you're noooo good!" (This response illustrates one of the many reasons I don't have a job working with the public. ) <
"But if they just don't like it then they should still let it through and let the public decide." Bandwidth is not unlimited or free, this isn't primarily a wall site and it is a moderated site. Since it is moderated that means not every wall submitted goes through. Actually so many walls are submitted, not many of them go through. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 A
You'd be better off emailing a mod (see the "about" section on the left hand side of the page). This is the recomended approach since the opening of this sort of discussion in a public forum invites comments, judgments, etc from the membership at large that you may not appreciate. A glance at similar threads here by other wall submitters will show what I mean. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smi
Hmn, it's been a long while since I've run the shareware WB, but my understanding was that some features were time limited not the software itself. Just to give a taste of what the enhanced version is like but not to completely prevent futher use of the shareware WB.
You may have already, given your decision to use such language on this site. (Not that never heard it before or used such language myself, but given the site rules certainly not kosher here.) Ah, edited to add that the comment I responded to miraculously evaporated rather quickly. Apparently a mod/Admin provided another response to the poster's remark. [Message Edited]
Interesting nic, Mr. Maggot. As for the change in site theme, I noticed that too. They're working on the servers so dunno if that may have something to do with it...
Yeah, I ditto Z71, DC, Jafo, FB...I'm losing track here... It might be nice to have some little trinket/title option for site subscribers, as long as it's not an occasion for people to get too huffy and puffy about themselves because they subscribed. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 AL
Not sure what you mean. WB skins Firefox. Perhaps not quite as completely as IE, if that's what you mean, but it's skinned, colorwise and bars. [Message Edited]
Tastes vary so there are some .msstyles I like and many I don't care very much for. Just as with WindowBlinds, although WB allows for more flexibility in design than .msstyles. But I'd venture that a good creative skinner is still a good creative skinner regardless of the tools used. The software alone doesn't make the skin. (Although .msstyles imposes more limitations on the author.) Anyway, here's one of Snidely's ports of Kol's work https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=1&
If you have SkinStudio you can do it yourself for your own use. I think there's a sticky thread here providing instructions. [Message Edited]
WindowBlinds runs .wba files, not .xptheme files. If you literally mean an .xptheme file, where did you get it from? Since usually the skin libraries here also contain info regarding what program is needed to use the skins/themes available in that library. [Message Edited]
Well you don't really need to uninstall the programs, just don't run them, although they don't take up that much resources, relatively speaking. How much memory do you have? Your resource issue may be due to some other issue. Or just running XP and too much stuff on an underpowered pc. Before uninstalling the programs, restore the original XP settings through the programs themselves. For example, in IconPackager go back to using the default XP icons. Ditto for WB in the appearance sec
So sorry to hear this, IR. You will be missed. Hope things turn around and you can come back real soon. Ya take care of yourself, hear?
I think the most recent public released version is 4.2 and that should work on 98. Try the most recent version if you can for whatever improvements may have been made over 4.1
Yes, your use of the smilie gif persusing the art was great! Perfect! (I like your bootskin also btw. Gotta go back and look at it again.)
Also, even if you modified someone else's work for your own use and display it in a screenshot, please feel free to let people know whose work you used. For example, mention that you're using Pixstudio's Yellow Alien theme and modified bits if that's what you did. Now if you did modify someone else's work you aren't supposed to distribute it without their permission but it sounds like you already know that. One of my pet peeves with some screenshots is that people post some really grea

Yup, you're out of order! We're ALL out of order! Attica! Attica! meanwhile I really hope that "hello i want a good bootscream" is not bumped off the page....Stumpy's pregnant and no one's stepping forward to make an honest man of him. gotta see how that turns out. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images
Is this a variation of the "I reached my 50 mg download cap and now can't download anymore" theme? If so there are other sites with a wide variety of work and no download caps. Privately owned sites are free to set their rules regarding use and access. This site has a download cap for those who have not purchased a product or site subscription. For those who have not reached the cap, during times of heavy site use priority access is assigned to those who have paid subscriptions or hav
Maybe because I'm a reader I generally read board/forum threads (especially if I'm in a new place) before posting. As for what information is or is not available to the new or casual user, I just looked at the WC Help board and there's a sticky thread called something like "Welcome to the WC Help Board" and the thread explains what the messageboard is for. Similarly the skinning messageboard has a sticky thread that serves as an intro to that board. This of course is the general discussion board
