I've seen in various posts that you're one of the Ruling Council of this tool, so I'm glad to see that you responded. If there is anything that I can do to help - beta testing, hardware examples, etc, I'm more than happy to help in any way I can.
Hey, all - long time Stardock user, new to DesktopX. What brought me to this is the fact that I can't find a meter out there to fit my exact needs. I really like the All CPU Meter , and use it on my gaming rig, but there is something it (and all other meters I've found out there) is lacking: a GPU meter. There are a few stand-alone GPU meters I've found, but I&#

This has been a long process to find the details I need. Well - I still need to manually check here, right? That's still more effort than is convenient (especially since info has been scattered on this topic across this forum, the wincustomize one and even Elemental.)</p
When you say, "Stand alone," do you just mean the DL links? That's the main thing I'm trying to avoid - I don't feel like having to go through everything in object desktop one at a time to see if it's the latest version and downloading it.
Any word yet when the new downloader will be available? I'm waiting for that to renew/upgrade.
If Stardock makes its own direct system, it'll be something more like Get.Live.com where it's just a quickie manager.
When and if this is available, how will we be notified? Like some others have mentioned, I don't get to spend much time in the forums, and that's the only place we seem to find info - and at that, it's scattered. I've been trying t
Oh, Stardock, how do you keep doing this to me? After Demigod and Elemental, I had decided that I was done with pre-orders and would wait for reviews of any new games before I allowed myself to get excited. But now a new game is teased, and I'm getting excited again. Damnit. I think it's really cool that any of us that got on the WoM bandwagon early are getting this one for free. Hopefully, past mistakes will have been learned from and this game with be
I found the convenience of checking for all app updates in one place at my leisure to be preferable. Impulse Now served the purpose of 'instant' notifications quite well for those who wanted them; I did not. I would like SD to provide both options - an Impulse-like app manager and individual app downloads/updates by links; then (almost) everybody's happy. 0.02. YMMV
Yeah - I love the option of just hitting "
I had some issues myself on 64-bit. Had to uninstall and reinstall twice (and yes, I checked compatibility mode) before it would fire up, but it got there eventually. I just chalked it up to "product wasn't designed for it, but I got there in the end."
Personally, if they give me a way to transfer my existing library from Impulse to Steam, I'd be the happiest man alive (but I realize that is a pipe dream.) One download manager and everything all in one place would be great. I'd settle for just getting my SD games moved over.
The replacement is right here, which is what people asked for since we released Impulse to be honest. https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount/products
So, is this the endgame? I'm with a number of other people on here who never had a problem with Impulse in concept. It had it's issues, but I never thought it was bad. It certainly was head-and-shoulder
Island Dog - not to be a pain, but per my question above from last week: Is there any plans for a future download manager (I understand if nothing is "official" yet) or will it be staying with manual links, product-by-product?
Okie-dokie - I've been a bit behind on my Stardock stuff, and just read through this whole thread. It answers some questions, so thanks to everyone. One that I still have has only been hinted at, and that is if getting this stuff through DL links is permanent. Someone mentioned way back at the beginning that a new manager might be deployed (which begs the question of why get rid of Impulse in the first place, then? [e digicons][/e] ) Is this a possibility?&nb
Once I uninstalled and reinstalled, it seemed to work.
Funny that you should post this. Just tried to fire up a little ToA tonight and had the same error. I thought it might have been because I did a mass install on a new computer a few months ago, and DL'd everything at the same time. However, I ran DA and it laoded to the menu just fine. So, I uninstalled ToA, then tried to run DA and got the pop-up there . Next, I uninstalled all three and am currently reinstalling one at a time (I realize

Strangely enough, that's actually a pretty helpful answer. Basically, it's still not a finished game? (Oh the Gamer Bill of Rights irony...) I don't blame you for not wanting to be a bug hunter. Although not a hater per say, I'm certainly not a fanboy at this point. Oh well. Might just hang this one up and wait for GalCivIII. Thanks for the update.
Hey, all ...as I expected, Civ V ended up taking over my 4x life for the last several months and never went back to Elemental. Been getting the Facebook updates and everything, and I was thinking about giving it another chance. How have the updates been? Has the gameplay been improved to a playable state? Really hoping to tear into this one finally.
Count me among those wondering if there is a fix yet. Looking at putting a second monitor on my machine, and I'd haaaaaaate to have to quit using Fences.

Thank you for taking a minute to reply, dragoaskani. Unfortunately, those are all things I'm doing - well, except for the playing a female character and getting married right off the bat. Haven't tried that. (Also not sure what you're referring to when you say "Imbue" in this context, though I certainly recruit him.) But other than that, those are techs that I go for, and I also try to do the wandering skull-splitter routine with my hero..."try" being operative.&
I must be missing something. It's not that I haven't played games like this - I've been playing 4X games for over 20 years - and that's what is baffling me. I'm playing this game on the easiest level, and I'm getting my ass handed to me. Soundly and repeatedly. Pretty much from the get-go, I'm fighting an uphill battle, even when only against 2 other factions. If I turtle around just a few cities and try to build them up, the other factions expl
