IIRC, they are both requisites for non-research items. Incidentally, making Improved Environment Control a prereq for Terraforming is nearly pointless, as all of it's requisites are already a good ways down the tree, and at least one of them on the same branch.

To go along with that supposition, diplomacy can be forced into a similar situation by asking for 65536bc for 65536 turns (net total cash of about double maxint).

'How soon can I get this info? The new game version has changed something in the formulas and now my best strategy doesn't work. My "approval rating" drops below 30% even with Tax rate being 0%. I need to know what's wrong ' Tey building moral improvements. People don't like being crowded in like sardines, most of the time. 'Am I gonna get the formulas or not?' You almost certainly won't get the formulas. For one, most of them apply at a per planet basis, which m

'8) Add concept of "stealth" to the game. It would be like a percentage by which the enemy's scanner range is reduced.' Already planned. Stealth ships will invisible on the minimap, and possibly by sensors until attacked. '9) Limit the number of times ships can fight in a single turn. This will give advantage to packs of fighters who can't do much damage alone.' That's part of Range. Attacking costs a movement point, and until the code to stop the negative movement w

It doesn't account properly for the bonus research provided by techs, anomolies, or resources, from what I can tell. This has been reported a few times since Beta 2A.

'I sent saved games to Cari that shows this happening. There has to be something wrong with the way the code is handling building star bases on that resource (called "laughing gas", if I have the right one in the file "GCResource.resource"). Or a combination of the definition and the code.' Like I mentioned in the other thread, I think this is a mistake bringing out something that was going to intentionally happen later. Perhaps the code was intended to bring the Crystalai into the Win

If you buy the game directly from Stardock, it's the downloadable version. There is an option when you buy it to get the current version on CD, so that you don't have to download the 200+MB of files the first time, but all later updates still have to be downloaded. There is planned to be a way for people who bought GalCiv to get a CD of the final version, but that will be at a (presumably marginal) cost.

'Sort planets by Social Project, and Military Projest would be nice.' Those sorts are already there, they just don't seem to index correctly, and the planets building nothing would probably still be on the top of the list. (U+0000) sorts before 'A' (U+0041) alphabetically.

AFAIK, the DGM can't resume a single file, just the whole download from the start of the first missing file, and there currently is not any other way to download the file. 'SDS0004' is a lost connection. If you're having problems downloading large files from other locations, and your on a dial-up ISP with multiple numbers in your area, you may want to try using a different number to dial in, in case it's the ISP's router/gateway/etc. I don't know what '12019' is, but if I had

'5) I've noticed I'm getting the same 2 random events (super soldier serum and undead project) all the time. Is there more and I'm just not getting them?' There are twelve events right now, IIRC. The game does show a preference for certain types of objects/events, that seems to change randomly between games. 'I wondered about the X*****************eno management tech myself.' The 'X eno' techs are like that because of a problem in the font.

'Meh i was upset at the time =P already sad sorry and what not' So I noticed ;p 'Did all that and nothing but someone else is having the same issues so im guessing an issue at there end ' From what I could tell in those two threads, it's more of a was than an is, but that is a possability.

That seems to be a bug to me. Considering that your save had the proper production when it reloaded suggests a memory related failure, or an invalid pointer somewhere, although I could easily be wrong, given that my practical programming experience consists almost entirely of minor alterations of an Angband variant

I run into the occasional crash to desktop, but never more than once every couple of days. In every case, SE produced no report. The game does lock up during the intro.bik, but only if I don't reboot before playing, so I'm of the opinion that it's something on my end being disagreeable rather than a problem with GalCiv.

'And i never threatened anyone =P Im just saying the dude who paid for it is a federal law enforcement officer =P (he also owns this house)' I don't mean to be insulting, but just mentioning that he was a federal law enforcement officer is an implied threat. What you intend and what you actually say are two entirely different things, and we can only tell what is, not what you wanted to be. '(When the serial number IS entered it says expirirationdate 1900)'

'Which factores and how are they involved in your population growth? I assume that your pop bonus and the planet rating are involved and the growth is proportional with the current pop. But what about morale/approval rating and is there a populatio cap due to planet rating?' Three things affect population growth directly, from what I can tell: the planet's current population, it's morale, and your civilzation's population growth stat. A planet's class affects populati

I don't know if that particular method works anymore, now that the morality techs are implimented, but there should be at least two techs that win the game even if others are still on the tree now.
