Unless I am mistaken, SDC does not go through your browser. In any case, there are certain things that various browsers do not support, or support differently, and so on. For example, Opera does not, or did not last time I checked, support ASP web pages at all.

I like to start with a balance and stay fairly balanced, at least on low PQ planets, so that production isn't hampered by anything and my cash flow stays good. It really depends on what is available. I am trying out rare stars, rare planets, but abundant usable planets in a large galaxy. This usually gives me about 12 stars with 1-3 usable planets per star, which isn't much when you have 6 other races, and the planets are generally PQ6-8 excepting home
Since the latest beta patch, my ships have been acting like standard transmission cars with a bad clutch. They start, pause for about half a second, then finally synchro in and continue on their merry way. Not a big deal, but it really shouldn't happen. It happens mostly in large map games, later in the game when there is a lot going on. The system I play on is quite a bit above minimum spec, though not extremely high end.
Here's a couple screencaps, just a junky ship and an influence station, to show how small the interface elements look at really high res. AA is off, I'm not much one for eye candy. http://home.cogeco.ca/~illuminati/2048x1536a.jpg http://home.cogeco.ca/~illuminati/2048x1536b.jpg btw wtf is it with the forums here? In one area you can use html, in another you can't, you can turn it on or off in some, you can edit some posts but not others, even in the sa
2048x1536 BAM!
Well, it's kind of hard to steal a tech if they haven't got anything you don't.
GC2 said my card didn't support DX9 when I first installed it. I played Doom3 with this card, it supports DX9, very well I might add.
Stay annoying, too many people are annoying and stupid, it's refreshing to be annoyed in an intelligent way
I know one thing, GC2 does not play well with SoundBlaster Audigy cards. I would constantly get severely corrupted audio, most often caused by starting a combat sequence, in orbit or on a planetary surface. Most of my CTDs involve calculating long travel routes for ships.
Why is there no Reply or Quote button on the first post in a thread? Why does the first post reappear on every single page? Better yet, why does Stardock use its own custom built forum software when there is full-featured forum software available for free on the internet, with loads of features that this forum software lacks? Inquiring minds want to know
For example: "C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\galciv2.exe" cheat Cheat Effect Ctrl + R Research current tech (Hold Shift for ALL techs) Ctrl + J Completes social projects Ctrl + 0-9 (NOT on num pad) Hail's major races Ctrl + C Clones selected ship Ctrl + B Adds battleship Ctrl
"#2 You can RIGHT-CLICK on the ship built block notifications that flow down on the right and your ship will automatically be launched" Unfortunately I haven't been able to find this feature. Please provide more of a description of where this can be found "flowing down on th right" just hasn't been enuf for me to find this
You mean like Stardock Central works? Yeah, that would be nice. One warning though, NEVER download a third party driver from Windows/Microsoft Update, they almost never work, and end up messing your computer up badly.
Meatverse...I like that...lol FRESH MEAT!
#2 You can RIGHT-CLICK on the ship built block notifications that flow down on the right and your ship will automatically be launched. If you launch a colony ship or a transport this way, you will get an empty ship. Strangely enough, GC2 will not launch a colony ship or transport without at least 1 "passenger" any other way.
Alternately, post a DXDiag report. Go to Start>Run in windows and type dxdiag. Wait for the diagnostics to complete, then click on Save All Information. Stick the report file somewhere handy. I just save it to desktop normally, as I delete it as soon as I've sent/posted it wherever.
Right now, due to the overload on the Stardock forums, people are ending up posting messages more than once. This problem has been addressed in generic forum software, but not here because the software is customized. The problem exists because receiving posts is a lot quicker than returning pages to the user, due to the bandwidth-intensive nature of outgoing pages, especially ones with high graphical content. Why not create a page in-between
Yes, and it really sucks, because if all you do is shut down the game to go to work/school/whatever it still happens.
Fight cultural influence with cultural influence. Keep your own people too happy to flip. I have a nice, Huge galaxy with just the Arceans left, and I am trying to culture flip their entire empire by surrounding them with my own planets and influence stations (with a few stations deep in their territory as well), even though I could easily beat them militarily at this point. I got them surrounded by rushing through and
Common bug with nVidia cards, also sometimes found on other cards, pretty much any brand, because the actual fault is with DirectX. Most manufacturers have compensated in driver releases. It is *always* good advice to try updateing your video (and audio) drivers first, then the latest DirectX, and then making sure you have the latest game patch (release or beta, whichever you prefer, but I have found the latest beta much better than the latest release
Update to 1.0x here: Link Download the "Bonus Pack", and optionally the "Enable Collector's Edition Content".
Any unused production in any category should be transferrable at the player's discretion, for example: * set transfer preference to military/social (whichever is not the "from" category), otherwise to research * set transfer preference to research * transfer all unused production to treasury This will require a small addition to the UI of course, but it gives the player control over unused funds. There could a
Here are a few examples of the stunning work of this obscure artist. Terran Trade Authority
I had to remove my Sound Blaster Audigy and use the onboard audio. Never did like Creative Labs, but I got the Audigy cheap and it has some ncie features like EAX.
a 9250 is a pretty feeble card, maybe GC2 realizes this and is keeping you from bogging your computer down
