So everyone seems to know about as much as I do? I was hoping that one of the devs would reply here, and give some answers. So much for that plan. I guess I have to wait like everyone else then.

I considered asking on the first day, but I decided to wait a day to think about questions. Here are my pre-beta questions: Generals and Assassins. From my limited understand about what multiplayer is going to be like for this game, I take it that it would be possible to have a team that has a bunch of Assassins, and a few Generals. Is my understanding correct? If not, could someone clarify? Multiplayer. Will it be the same as it is for sins, or are
Now its the same interface that X2 and XBTF had, and that's the problem. Egosoft apparently has not dicovered the Mouse and somehow still thinks DOS is still alive.
The interface does need some cleaning up and polish (and possibly a complete remake), but I'm not against the whole idea of a command console to order my ships. In some ways, its quicker and more precise than what I could do with a mouse. The only issue I have is that there doesn't appear to be a simple way to

I knew about the next game in the series since I was informed by e-mail a few months back. I'm not sure what to expect at this time. I haven't bothered to investigate much, nor do I know where to look for information. I'm hoping that they improve the economy system for the game, and allow you to put stations together better (its clumsy right now). Being able to custimize your ships better would be nice too.

There is happiness per planet, and then there is the average for the civilization (Approval). You can have a high civ average for happiness while having a few planets with really bad morale. There are several factors that help determine the happiness of a planet: -Morale structures improve happiness (as do many other things like morale galactic resources). -Larger populations create a larger morale penalty than smaller populations. -Farms increases the maximum populatio

Well, its difficult to judge the effects of a patch plan when nothing like it has been used before. If you are going to be asking for money to help develop a new patch for your games, I would suggest you seek ways to minimize the chances of alienating your customers. Here are two suggestions I have. ---- 1. Pay for votes, but leave patches free. It costs money to make updates, and that money has to come from somewhere. Why not allow players to contribute $5 bu

They have only recently started updating the AIs. Try to fight against the Drengin, Korath, and the Yor. The Drengin were the ones to get the biggest update thus far. The Korath and the Yor recieved some of the code used to update the Drengin. The Arceans probally got an update too since they now have a cheaper constructor module.

How did I not notice this post??? Anyways, glad to hear that there is more players out there that play as good. I hope you too will help bring righteous judgement to a very corrupt galaxy.
Does anyone know off hand if the "old" graphics for planetary improvements (Ind Sectors, Mfg Centers, Starbases, et cetera) will also be upgraded?

Is it safe to assume tha there will be new graphics for the remaining "old" improvements too?
There should be both new images, and updated images for structures in TA. So if a structure looks the same, then look closer and maybe you'll notice that it is now a better quality image.
I do al
i have been playing since beta and I never knew any of this.
Well some of the features of the game did change from beta to full release, and even from update to update. Don't be too surprised that some things did change. Making resources avialable to be sold on the black market are of the ones that appeared when the game was released.

Try building more market centers (perferably their upgraded versions). Also, try to use 1 farm and 1 morale building per planet. Those strucutures will increase your taxable population while helping to maintain your people's morale to about where it was before the increase in population. You might also want to try a different method for setting up your planets. You don't need factories on every planet. A class 6 planet will not have very many tiles to fill up, so it doesn't do you much

The method you are using doesn't sell stuff right away. Its a means to give you more control over how much money you get for selling a material. If you wanted to get money now, you could sell it for 1/3 the buying price instead. You should see a sell button below the buy button. Either way, you have to decide to either wait for someone to buy your resources, or to sell it now for the instant cash. Please note, its possible that a resource "Offered to other players" will not sel

I guess I misread your question. I thought you were ranking civs or something. The title did say "How do you rate current races/AI?" suggesting that ranking civs instead of AIs would be a valid responce. As for the Yor, I do know how to play them. I can conquor the galaxy using them. I just don't believe I can have nearly as good of economy using charging stalks instead of markets. It pains me to have to consider a recuiting center as valuable economic building (a must have). Ofcourse,
I know it's late in the game for suggestions... and maybe an additional diplomatic bonus for civs fighting the dominant civ. I.e., smaller civs should (IMO) group together and oppose a runaway civs.

Actually I really like his suggestion. I'll see what I can do.
Well, if you are going to adjust the AI to be able to team up against a super strong AI, you might wish to consider programing the AIs to offer techs to their 'comrades in arms' that they w

The features I'm looking for is a better way to manage super weapons, and some of the odd stuff not covered, or managed well by the user interface. ---- Super weapons: If you have a bunch of them, it would be helpful to know where each one was, and where they were pointing. To be able to do the following would make them easier to use: set them to autocast or cancel it, to pick targets so the game will start turning the one of them to fire, set targets to ignore, etc. <b

I had install problems like I did last week. The problem seemed to have gone away when I recomoved the archieve files. I was able to download the latest beta afterwards. I however, don't know what caused the problem in the first place, so it might be an issue for the next update.

At this time, I would place the Yor at the very bottom of the list, in terms of playability. The Yor don't have the ability to place very many economic structures without tech trading. I don't see them having a very good economy. The charging stalks are a different approach that gives the Yor flavour, but it doesn't do enough to replace the loss of economic structures. I can't fill up my high quality worlds with charging stalks like I could with stock exchange centers, its too expensive with too

Hey, I'm normally a nice guy myself (always plays good except for a few exceptions), but if you leave yourself vunerable, I too may consider attacking you. I probally choose to culture flip you instead of invading, to minimize the loss of life. It depends on the circumstances. If the only thing you have to offer are planets, I might be comming after you. If an evil race is attacking you, I might join in to prevent worlds falling into the hands of the bad guys. If you have techs that you

There is "X3: Reunion" by Egosoft: [link="http://www.egosoft.com/news/current_en.php"]WWW Link[/link] You fly around in a ship in a 3D enviroment. You can shoot stuff, trade stuff, build stations (to make stuff to trade), or even build an empire. They are currently developing an expansion to the game (possibly standalone) so you may wish to keep an eye on it.

I'm wondering, does the random auto upgrade problem still exist? I haven't checked to see if it still does since it was too much of a pain to bother with. The problem is, you can place structures found in the old tab on worlds, but sometimes these structures will randomly decide to try to upgrade themselves every so often. It makes it a pain to try to develop new colonies using cheap, quick to build factories, only to find that they start making industrial sectors instead, turning a quick develo
So anyway, while playing this weekend, I finally came to understand the single biggest problem with the computer AI with planetary improvements: It doesn't check to see if it is already building a super project or achievement on one of its other planets.
Is this why we might find that the AI placed structures like super projects on worlds that is less than ideal, or is it one of the leading causes? In any case, it annoys me to capture a low quality world from my

I would like to bring up 2 points here. 1. The Arceans get a "Stellar Forge" structure that is a galactic achievement. It bugs me that they would build one right away without considering a better world to build it on. I ussually find it on "Arcea" or "Hammer II" instead of a class 21 factory world. Building one early might be nice and all, but it provides the most benefits if placed on a world best able to produce the most amount of ships. My suggestion is improve the AI so it
