Xeno Ethics has been that way for a while. I research "Xeno Ethics" every game I play (with a few exceptions). I would be surprised if it didn't happen. Is it a bug? I don't know, but there are other things I'm much rather have fixed, such as including a fortify ( or hold position) command for ships.

Not sure. The relations system seems a bit buggy. Try this. When selecting other races to play with, you should be able to click on their icon and be able to change start relations. Try setting them to unknown. I hope this helps.

A little crazy goes a long way when you're creating evil-looking structures. Neilo, I think the Tyranny of Evil should lend our friend BoogieBac a few fembots for the duration of this project... Hold on for a sec! Think about what you are saying. The fembots might restore some of his sanity. Save them until after he gets his job done. (It better be a good job too).

I'm back! ________________ 1. Auto-survey Auto-survey vessels I got quite a lot of them to make sure I really get every single anomaly. I got _tons_ of "No more anomalies available, surveying disabled" messages. Furthermore, this message was misleading. Some survey vessels were indeed idle after that, while some others were in some sort of survey-standby mode, waiting for new anomalies to spawn. I couldn't see any pattern. Just fix the bugs and

+ NEW: Added code to delete multiple ships at once from the maintenance tab + NEW: Added code to put auto-survey ship on standby if it can't find any more anomalies - if this works out, I'll see about adding it for space miners too. Excellent! I'll be certain to give them a test. If you don't mind me asking, how goes programming the fortify (or hold position) command? when will 1.7 beta 2 be available

I was thinking, both the Iconians and the Yor can trace their history to the Arnor and the Dread Lords. The Iconians have been working on restoring their data networks since the Yor rebelled, and the Yor still have the planet Icona. My point is, both of them have access to information that might provide them with precursor technology. The question is, should they be running around with high quality weapons, special hulls, a few planet improvement structures, or maybe a all of the above?

forgive me if this has been gone over but i could only spare a quick skim over all 59 responces... I've been reading this thread since its creation, and I don't recall reading much about space stations in here. Not a whole lot has been done with space stations except maybe for the recent addition of a repair kit module not to long ago. Hopefully, we might end up with a fortify command soon, so it would be more practical to protect space stations with sh

The ultimate workings and speeds of right of passage treaties will be decided by the beta testers. If you are dead set on this feature, then I recommend a max speed of 10. That way it wouldn't feel like a nerf to the Yor, but it will also prevent ships from ziping through a sector without saying hello. If by "influence" you mean one's cultural influence border, I'm not sure that I like that idea. It'll make it all too

Its 4x population growth with Super Breeders at 100% approval, not 8x pop growth. This includes a 4x max pop increase per turn (+2.2 bil instead of the normal 0.55 bil).

If you don't have a right of passage treaty, ships will only move 1 move per turn through someone else's sphere of influence. Wait a sec, what about the Yor's super ability, Super Isolationists? It slows down ships to 3 parsecs per turn.

This is a single player game. The devs can do things that don't always result in game balance. Have you heard about how the Yor are not going to be affected by morale in TA? Sadly, good got gimped during the development of DL, and remained that way ever since. There are some benefits for being good, but not enough to win most forum arguements. If you guys have problems with that, please speak up in the next dev post about the expansion. I can't make enough noise by myself to make a majo

Kind of a hold-position command. Would be nice for starbase defense fleets (although I really wish you could just add the starbase to a fleet to accomplish that...) and sensor arrays. I don't care about the name, call it what you want, I just want the command. I was using the term fortify, because I grew up with the game Civilizations 2, a game which had a fortify command. I don't understand why you ever want a sentry command that causes ships to frequen

DivineWrath: Isn't the option you're looking for the 'sentry' command (wakes up on hostiles AND friendlies)...or are you requesting that the guard option stays in constant effect until the player turns it off...not just when the first unfriendly ship is sighted? Yes, I want a guard command that stays in constant effect until I turn it off. Sentry is the opposite of what I want.

Umm, could you describe exactly how you want this to work and e-mail it to [email protected]? Sure thing. I'll start writing it right now. I can even show up on that stardock central chat tomorrow. By the way, thanks for listening. ________________ Edit: There... done... I hope I didn't write too much. If there is any more information you need, feel free to ask.

They don't appear to so in this beta. That might come later. In any case, CariElf is looking into the auto-survey matter. Check reply #17. WWW Link

1. Provide a warning when paying off leases when doing so will put you in dept. I was playing as the Yor, and researched "Xeno Ethics" and became good. As such, I got a 10,000 bc lease. Then when I accidentally paid it off all at once, it took me 30+ turns at an unconfortbly high tax rate just to recover. Ok I checked this and the code WAS checking to see if you actually have enough money in the treasury, and I verified it

I've played part of game on a tiny map, and I must say that I like the "leases and maintaince" tab. I have 2 recommendation for it though. 1. I'll give it a thorough testing when it arrives. By the way, there are a few graphical glitches that show up when I play. I ussually save and quit at that point, because either I can't play because its a black screen with a little flicker, and the game ussually crashes sortly after. I've been meaning to report them. I'm wondering if 1.7 beta be a good time to report them (if any show up)?

10) Custom Race Inequality --> It is my understanding that custom races are not as powerful as the default races, in terms of points assigned to them. This, to me, seems to be unbalancing. All races, custom or no, should be as close to possible as every other race. I don't understand why the game was designed this way, in fact. You're in for a disappointment. Have you heard the news about how different each civilization is going to be in TA? The Yor, as

Yor The Yor won't have entertainment based technologies at all or any sort of farming technologies. Instead, the Yor will have energy production centers that increase the # of Yor units on a given world which can then be divided between production areas and research areas. No morale buildings? Does this mean that morale will cease affecting the Yor completely? What I mean is, does high population no longer give a morale penalty? Does this mean that

I mean, I'm a computer user, I like to think I'm fairly advanced, but they were talking some stuff that was just over my head, and I don't know how to do it. If someone provided a step-by-step tutorial for XP, maybe I could, but as it is now? I don't think so. Don't worry too much about it. I got kind of lost myself. He made it sound like I needed to use a windows feature I've never seen before. I'll explain what you need to do: 1. Open

The game mechanics not being as you would like them, however, doesn't mean that this is some sort of "Bug" that needs to be "fixed." It would appear that my arguement against a dozen or so expansions backfired. Apparently I need to work on my choice of words, and how I phrase things. Your earlier post makes it sound like there are objective problems with the game in which we owe players an explanation for not "fixing".
