7. Super Repulsive--Other civilzations are MUCH more likely to grant demands to get rid of this one. They will become unavailable after every contact. Some enemy soldiers during ground assaults will also lose their nerve and flee in terror. Do let me know what you like and don't like or what can or should be changed. Could you explain number 7 more? It doesn't make much sense. ----------------

I might as well be the first to post my ideas. 1. Super Influencer The civilization can culture flip planets more easily. This race only needs half as much influence to flip planets (2.00+ instead of 4.00+), and all planets that may flip is 50% more likely to do so. Inaddition, this race can buy planets from other races at discount prices. 2. Super Dictator (or maybe political animal) Any race with this super ability never losses elections. They always manage

As most of you know, there is one super ability for each of the main races. However, due to the limited number of existing super abilities, its hard to make custom races that either don't feel like the existing races, or are not gimped for not having a super ability selected. So post your ideas for new super abilities here. Hopefully a post with a lot of replies with get the devs attention, and maybe a handful of ideas will be selected and added to the game. So get your br

Yes, that's how much sleep I got last night. Tonight I might try getting at least four or five. Maybe. I've had those kinds of nights before. Hi, I'm new here and new to this game. The whole TBS genre, actually. Welcome to Galactic Civilizations 2. I hope you enjoy you're stay. Also, for the record, Galciv 2 is currently one of the best TBS games around, if not THE best. So you made a good choice. <

Thanks for the continued source of information, even though I might not be checking this post on a daily basis. Also, thanks Swift Nick for the information on game time cards and invention. Based upon the research I've done, invention only provides you with tech level 2 BPCs which isn't as good as having a tech level 2 BPO for the same item.

...I'm also glad that many people can remain civil,... Well it helps if the moderators remind people what is expected, and enforce some order when something goes really bad. About 2-4 weeks ago, wheeloffire was banned for good due to the trouble he kept causing. They also have created a few threads for hot topics such as multiplayer, and carriers. The end result is, posts like <a href="https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=349&aid=154365#1228054"

Replying to post #166 ________________ I am curious why, from a gamer perspective, one would not always say yes unless they wanted to up the challenge level? It would be relatively easy to nab a couple of class 3s and offer them up for the wonderful bonuses before TT rushing every last planet under god's control. I like the idea in general, but I think there should be a price for the compliance to make it a real choice. A few ideas come to mind.

Trying to be a poet, Marcus? Judging by your Original Post, you don't know enough about stuff to even ask good questions. I suggest that you try to find a philosophy class at some post secondary place. You don't need to enroll, just ask the teacher if you may sit in and listen. I also suggest that you avoid looking up philosophy on the internet. Its far too easy for someone to get confused in such an advanced, and complex subject. http://www.

I guess I'm going to have to leave my current game unfinished to try this version. I don't want to be left out like what happened in a previous beta (the one with the fog of war bug). + FIX: Fixed bug where, in 1 on 1 battles, if both ships kill each other, the stronger surviving ship would have hp restored instead of receiving 1 hp. Why can't they both be destroyed? Then we'll move onto starting 1.7 which sho

Here is the idea I had that I was working on for a while. I considered watering it down a little, but it might be more practical for the devs to do that, if at all. Note: This might make a better story for an expansion than as a mega-event. _________________ #9 Divine Rapture An entity claming to be a god shows up one day. When the races in the galaxy start acting skeptical about its claim, it proceeds to prove its power. It firsts improves the quality of every rac

Seriously, people, we all have a tendency to repeat lies and misleading information. are generated by a lack of factual information and, frankly, the fact that we Humans are subject to different forms of propaganda and crowd control blurbs in all forms of the media, Nevertheless, there is still hope for the Human race, and what many intelligent people consider to be the BEST SOURCE FOR

Let me explain the off-type defense bug, as I understand it. Back in Dread Lords, when you were using the wrong type of defense against an attack, the square root was applied as your defense. For example, an off-type defense of 1 was effectively on-type 1, 4 was 2, 9 was 3, 16 was 4, 25 is 5, 36 is 6, etc... However, the "Kombat" system was changed going into Dark Avatar, so on-type defense would be weaken by its corrisponding attack. However, this wasn't properly applied to of

I like this one beacause it would make races have different advantages over eachother instead of everyone having the same old boring Doom Ray. It just doesn't make the races seem unique when everyone has the same stuff! Ofcourse since that mad scientist sent it to all the major races I suppose it's still the same....oh well I'm glad you like. I came up the Doomsday Device as a means for races with laser III weapons to compete with races with Doom rays.

New ideas. Posting first one now. The second one needs some work. Doomsday Device Insert corny James Bond story line here... After the hero stops the doomsday device, he proceeds to confront to the villian. The villian, in his last act of evil, proceeds to transmit different versions of his doomsday device to all of the major races in the game. These versions are ones he never had the resources to build. The transmited blueprints come in 3 versions:<br/

#1 Mega structures ... so have them drifting through the galaxy, blowing up planets, and you can destroy them. GalCiv 1 had terror stars, which I have asked that they return as a mega-event. I mentioned it back in post #5. #6 Science is dangerous. Anti-intellectualism becomes rampant in the most-advanced empire. The common folk rise up and destroy research infrastructure, smoke weed, and burn books. S

A mutation virus infects the whole galaxy turning every race into another race (with its inherent advantages and limitations. So you may be playing one race and suddenly you become another race. Bad idea. You shouldn't force a player to play a race they don't want to play. A flame post might be made due to the annoyance. A mutation virus infects the whole galaxy turning every race into another race (with its i

Although it is the devs who make the final decision of what mega events to make, could you guys think about some of your suggestions? Mega events are supposed to add a challenge to the game, not outright ruin it. Some ideas suggested thus far have some potential, but they are being limited by being too forceful. I'm going to list a few recommended guidelines. -Never prevent a player from winning the game their way. The game is supposed to be fun, not a chore. If a player wa

H4xx0r5 for freedom A galactic crimewave hits the networks. Researched technologies by all races are available to everyone. In addition, it becomes impossible to effectively control patents and all races gain the benefits of any trade good which has been built so far. Owwwww, man, that would HURT! Especially me, because in late game I usually have most trade goods and tech. I'd call that mega-PAIN event. <br/

While they don't read minds, I know I look forward to the day of players having their play styles recorded to a database and then read in so that the AI learns between games. Just make sure that there is an off switch for that. I would like to have the option to test a few new strategies without having the AI trying exploit my weaknesses (assuming I had any /joke).

Find a usable precursor battleship! I believe that already happens (normal events). I would like to see a shift in loyalties event. Treason in your political party causes it to collapse any forces you to pick a new political party. Zeitgeist: One of your civilization bonuses is exchanged for another random one permanently. -Some greater power turns the entire galaxy "upside down" resulting in that in the diplomacy screen, the leaders of the foreign races are shown upside down for the rest of the game. Turn the galaxy upside down? Wouldn't that also turn you upside down as well, so everything would appear to be up side up? Lets assume, for a moment, that every race is shown upside down. Isn't it more likely that some poor terran will be whacking the monitor becaus
