Anyway, my point wasn't to denigrate your usage of the planet but to suggest that there other ways to use it that you might consider when and if you get the chance. Don't worry about it I never thought it was and I appreciate the advice, and you *are* right, specialisation is the way to go *when* you have enough planets to your name to do so. I

As you have it, you've got a jack of all trades and master of none. Fair to say, however with my civ currently at war (one which doesn't look like relenting soon) and only six planets to my empire, it doesn't seem like a good idea to devote an entire planet of such a precious few to one particular function. However, after I have (hopefully) crus

Yeah, after the Arceans settle down (or I conquer them, one of the two) I'll decommision at least one of those defense installations and put the space toward something else. EDIT: Its now 2233 (three years after the initial screeshot) and this is the state of Greenleaf <

I like the idea of ships going rogue, I always thought they followed (nearly suicidal) orders rather too blindly. However this event should either be toggleable, or depend on *very* extreme circumstances. If a military strike hinges on a ship that decides to go rogue, some may find it very annoying. Me, I like anything that shakes up the game a little bit.

A civilization could also be able to contract another civilization to evacuate the planets (for a suitable cash injection). Just in cas Civ-a can't get any colony ships/troop transports there in time, but Civ-b has a heavily productive planet nearby, Civ-a could ask (via a suitably large cash injection) Civ-B to build/buy (depending on the cash injection) a colony ship/transport and send them to evacuate the citizens. Obviously there would be a greater chance of Civ-B doing this if A and B are a

I've thought about that in the past, you could communicate with an ally through the diplomacy screen, saying "Could you send amount of ships to . After pairing up the fleet you could assume temporary control (through a cash injection to the other government/per turn or for x amount of turns). This could really help when you have either no ships in the area or just can't build anymore.

From what I just read it is obvious that Dark Avatar will be worth the wait. That AAR is nothing like one you would get from a regular Galciv2 game. I really like the new dimensions of strategy that have been added (Spore ships for Super Annihilators, great to attack with, murder to defend against, ace). And from what I see with the screenshots, I don't know what your graphical settings were, but they look great.

I really don't need convincing, Star Trek Online will be awesome, I love this new wave of trek games out either now or soon. I am definitely looking forward to Star Trek: Legacy. And I know for every trekkie on these forums there must be like a million others out there, so live long and prosper! (I cannot believe I just said that!)

It doesn't matter to me whether or not the Generator can create fully fledged stories. All I really look for is the groundwork or just some handy screenshots taken at crucial moments, I can flesh out the rest of the story on my own. So don't worry if you have to get rid of it, yeah its dissappointing but it won't affect Dark Avatar for me one bit.

There have been several graphical enhancements... one being the beefed up ship textures... (you notice your race logo on your ships, right?) and the other being the visible ships in orbit around planets from the map view... that's an awesome addition to the game that I dont think many expansion packs would have added... because it's purely cosmetic...but it's just...aweso

You could have a "close borders" option, meaning your borders are open as normal until you decide to close a border to any or all races, meaning no freighters from the selected race(s) or ships of any kind. Could be good if you think a race is planning to wage war with you. The downside: To adequately defend your borders you would need to have sensors all around it, maybe a new type of starbase...listening post perhaps?

Wow, whatever you guys have done to the graphics...wow. From those two screens alone it looks like a massive improvement, yet at the same time it is really subtle. I gotta say, impressive. btw: What exactly is a "Ship intelligence centre?"

That will cause my computer to explode. So much so that where my house once stood, there will be nothing but a smoldering crater. However I do like the distinctly unique look of the battles in game, along with some truly great sound effects. Sins of a Solar empire, if you're half as good as this, I'm sold.

I get really annoyed when that happens (Well not exactly that). I wasn't doing so well in one of my games, I hadn't been quick enough in the initial colony rush and only had eight planets. My influence was confined to a miniscule corner of the map. I was 9th out of 10 in top 10 most powerful races. So I decide to conquer the Thalans, the only race less powerful than me. For two years I practically turn my economy on its head to churn out transports and battlecruisers and even a couple of large b

If you had only enough money to buy one game and you were faced with a Real time strategy and a Turn based strategy, which would you go for? For me, I massively enjoy both however I would lean toward RTS simply because of the more large scale warfare and action. I just want to know, out of pure curiosity, which type of strategy the majority of you out there prefer.

I don't know who's worse, USA for thinking they can simply walk all over the world with and not worrying about the consequences, the UK for saying "How high" when America says "Jump", or every other country in the world for doing absoutely NOTHING. All the visions we see in the media today of a united planet (take Star Trek or even Galactic Civilizations) is becoming less and less likely the way that the UK and US are rampaging across the globe in search of more oil.
