Yeah I've heard of the Seven Dealy Sins mod Package. They all did incredible work on their mods. It was featured in PC Gamer. Thank for this information about Entrenchment though!
Superweapons are there to force an entrenched opponent's hand in a drawn out stalemate. It's a mechanic that says "if you don't stop turtling and attack me, I'm just going to build a ton of these and wipe you out". In games where the players are being aggressive, you're right. They may not be all that useful (games with aggressive players probably won't even last long enough for superweapons to hit the field) but t

I am exceited for the Entrenchement mini expasion for Sins of a Solar Empire. I would like though to ahve a option to disable it at startup or run it with a different shortcut. For example, in ArmA-Combat Operations, there are folders called modfolders. In each mod folder are addons that the engine can use. TO enable a many modfolders inside the ArmA Directory it will look like this... "D:\Program Files (x86)\Atari\ArmA\arma.exe" <a href="mailt

I have little faith in my government and congress. I am surprized that someone used Wiki for actual research, it is more hearsay. Highlight below to read my take on (illegals issue). I put it on this color because it is WAY off track from the aticle refered to in these commets. My 2 cents...(illegals) stop wasting money on wars that are not handled well at all (Recent conflicts) and losing wooden crates of money. Then we
On the subject of piracy, the limit on how many people can share the song is not a bad idea. Their needs to be a much better software so that the consumer becomes much less frustrated with it though. What is the Creative Commons License? I am not sure but it allows more freedom to share and edit the song, I think. Wired had a article on it I mean't to read but didn't.
personally I would like to see if the music artists (small or indie ones) can survive in this business model. I imagine that they would not make much since the monthly subscription made has to go to many artist, versus the ones you have been buying. If on the otherhand, artist (Small or Indie) can make a living better than they can now, it is a good direction to go. But as in any opinion more information on the subject will facilitate my perspective, opinion or view, as this c
Should the people that have the Beta Version reinstall Impulse from the download posted above or impulsedriven.com I have the Beta Version, BUT it works fine with my Vista Ultimate 64 OS. Should I even bother reinstalling the Alpha Version? I have been constantly updated my Impulse whenever it checked for a update.
Making this mod would only split the community into 2, it's a bad idea. As a rule of thumb I am opposed to all mods for this very reason.
While I could see that as a problem, but wouldn't the veterens get sick of playing the game and wanting to try something new? Modding the game provides more enjoyment out of a old game. For example I can fly a Robotech fighter in ArmA and with the scripts comming out from teh community I can build new missions. Thereby incre
Okee np. I guess we just need to make our own which is easy enough
Guys the OP of this thread understand and just agreed that it will be easy enough to make his own mod with his own balance changes. No need to further drag this thread thru the mud. At least offer something constructive about a idea for a Pro Mod versus bashing the idea. After all no-one would be forcing people to download the Mod. I will find it interesting what will be changed for the Pro Mod

I agree this is something that would rather be better modded or added as a option. It might tend to buff the Cap-ship playstyle too much.
Games are to long: Well... This isn't a problem but the games general design and the way it's played out. But because games last so long, like 3-6 hours i find, i myself seem to have to leave... or someone else does. Which completely destroys the fun!! You can save the multiplayer games. Also if the games take too long in days, remember this is a complicated 4x game. Also try making the Map size smaller... it helps. Crashing: Wow... if i crash because

Adding Super Capital Ships.. how would I go about to add a Super Capital Shipyard and Super Capital Ships. Basically adding a class larger than the current captial ships. Is it even possible?
It is desprately needed for modders out there and galaxy creators.
This is why a separate competitive ladder (or something similar) is a must for 1.04. Casual and competitive gamers should not be forced into playing together.
Agree, as it ruins the multiplayer experience for new players. I haven't play online, but from the people I've talked that played against friends had a lot of fun. When you join a game always ask if the random map is a map created for this match or is it a repeat map. This shouldn't be a problem.
1.03 and 1.02 have this option.... Look in "Game Options" When you start the game or host.
You guys rock! I'll start using the tutorial you ahve all suggested and the one made for this game. It is very much welcomed and something that everyone in the community can use.
I am wondering if anyone knows of tutorials for creating a model in XSI Mod Tool to import into game? I am really new to XSI Softimage and have little experience with modeling and would apprehiate any help.
One that wishes to avoid forcing you to micro every single battle. That said, it doesn't reduce the effectiveness of prioritising targets manually - it reduces the effectiveness of focus firing.
What he is saying, 0300Infantry, is that you can assign many targets (key word "targets"), to manually control, for effectiveness, but making ALL the ships focus fire on a single (keyword "single") target isn't a good way to go.
For every ship that shooting and damaging the same target, that shield mitigation goes up for the target, is the easiest way to describe it.
In a close fight, focus-firing will win; but fleet composition and positioning is probably a much more important factor IMO.
Yes.
Intelligence gathering is the single most important part of any game or any war. I mean really if the US and Britians Intelligence actually told the US military hard facts about Iraq Chemical Weapons, then the US would not be in Iraq, with the occupation it is currently in (and billions in dollar in depth with a rising inflation in economy). Spamming is a easy counter to beat in this game, read about it, read about other strategies and grow your arsenal of strategies. Spamming in smal
