My biggest issue is the way autoresolve with have my casters needlessly throw off spells in fights they could win without even attacking, wasting huge amounts of precious mana when I'm saving up for a summon or enchantment. Need to be an autoresolve without using magic option.

I find it amusing that the sovereign can pretty much immediately summon and control creatures stronger then he is, and he never catches up to them.
1: I think there are keyboard controls (try arrow keys, numpad, wsad) but I just hold down the middle mouse button/mouse wheel and drag the mouse. 2: Probably a memory leak, immediately after it crashes post you debug.err from the elemental folder in my games in my documents in the support forum and it will probably be fixed with a patch very soon. Meanwhile try fiddling with the graphic settings. There are issues with certain anti aliasing modes in the ATI control panel for instance
Try building near the resources rather then right next to them. There are disadvantages, it takes longer tog et them because you have to wait for your borders to encompass them. They can be attacked separately to the city by wandering monsters destroying the improvement (the resource remains, but you have to build the harvesting building on top of them again) so you have to spare some soldiers outside the city to protect them. I'm not certain about this but you may also miss out on the cities
Resources on the map are random, sometime you get no fertile land, sometimes you get 5 right next to each other, it is somewhat balanced but there possibly room for refinement. Enchantment slots seem to be equal to half your essence. Not sure if it's rounded up or down. You can cast natures bounty on every city if you have enough enchantment slots, but only once per city. 50 tiles is the hard limit and there is no way to increase it, though adding the ability to would
I can verify that. Though it seems occasionally you may have to dispel more then one. Will be interesting to see how they handle this. When it works properly will the last 1 or 2 enchantments you cast just fail? Will you be given a warning? Also there really needs to be some indicator of how many enchantment slots you have and how many are remaining.
I wonder if they were your babies. I suspect not. :-P
I think maybe he hit some forest or other difficult terrain that restricts movement and came to a false conclusion. Damn easy to do at the moment. It's not like it's clear how movement penalties work in the game yet.
It does make one of the traits completely useless... Forget it's name, the one that lowers the cost for founding new cities. Any sovereign with that has wasted points. Founding secondary cities should have a cost, it just shouldn't exponentially increase with each new city.
My guess is it's your notoriety gain. According to the manual you are supposed to earn fame based on your exploits. The higher your level of fame (good or bad) the higher level wife you can acquire and the stronger the offspring from your dynasty. There's no account of this in game anywhere that I can find though.
Janusk does warn you of that. He evens specifically says if you leave it undefended he could find it tempting target.
Ah so enchantment slots are the issue... Does anyone know how many enchantments slots you get? I've got a feeling its half you essence (rounded up or down?), imbue uses 3 essence so do you have to drop one enchantment or 2?
I have got the book of earth from a quest I think. Fact of the matter is though if you don't take the 4 elemental books you're going to have a beast of a time getting them. Enchantment and Summoning you can get more easily through research.
First get a baby channeller from another dynasty. Second... Eat it. :-P Okay seriously, you need to do magic research. Channeling gives you +1 to essence, shard harvesting lets you build shrines on magic shards, each one increases your essence by one. There are also several other buildings in the magic research tree you can unlock to increase... Finally there is a recurring research item in the magic research tree that gives you a bonus every time you select it. In addition to
Casting the spell imbue champion causes a crash to desktop almost every time I try it. It does seem to be an intermittent problem however. I have got it to work on Janus early in the game, but trying to cast it on other champions later in the game always causes a crash (especial female ones, might be unrelated but thought I'd mention the trend). Maintenance cost on summons... Well sure... Giant bear has to eat... But what does an ice elemental eat?
If your having trouble, cancel the download and start it again.
That's royalty for you. Got to keep the bloodline pure.
Sydney Aus through iiNet, can't even get the download started.
Or channel your rage to unleash such powerful magic that you are able to turn back time and load the last auto save.
Umm do they mean this? http://www.gamersbillofrights.com/ Looks like it's still there to me. The game is totally playable bar a few system specific bugs (Which are to be expected, you can't test for every possible type of computer build). Only a small number of people are experiencing them to. Now we may have expected more, in terms of content/features... But that doesn't make the game incomplete in and of itself.
There are movement penalties for rough terrain as well I believe. Having movement 4 wont mean much if you are trekking through forest.

Thanks for the response everyone. Shirley the game verifies fine and professes to be installed correctly. Brightness slider has no effect.
That's strange logic. If you are going to have +10 armor eventually, why don't you start with it?
That's part of the choice you have to make. Are you going to start with excellent armour, forgoing spell books and focusing on arcane research. Or are you going to start with the spell books and research armour (You don't usually have enough character creation points to actually do both). The main difference is weapon and arm
