Species 8472 from startrek (Armada II had them as playable). Leviathans in Farscape. Technically, I dont know if any "space dwelling" creatures were truly organic. It would depend on if they were carbon based or not. On further analysis, all newer scifi creations are technically SiO2, Cu, and other semiconductive material based as they are rendered digitally via series of transistors, capacitors, etc... None of which use carbon to any extent if at all. SO, yeah, m

Meh, I dont see the point in "renting" a game. Granted the Beta's are usually free, but then again, its not a finished/polished final game, so again, what's the point? The only "MMO" game I play anymore is Guildwars, mostly because it doesnt cost me anything to play beyond the initial purchase. That and it really is a well made and fun game. AoC just looks like another attempt at making money off of an MMO that will "try" to be the next WoW. I personally despise WoW, but I respect the f
Random, for the "I WIN" button. Anyway, I prefer Vasari for the ships designs.
Start with 1 or 2 easy AI on a small map. Dont build anything, but go through every menu and button and click each to see what it does. Mouse over each research tech to see what those do. There are researches for economy, thats always a good start. Mouse through the ship building options. They are each fundamentally different so its difficult to be confused as to which ship to build. Build a few and try them out on different things. You dont need to worry about "winning" the first few games. <br
Well, maybe the "cleansing" is necessary. After all they are 3 completely different races of beings. Perhaps the tech need oxygen to live while it would be toxic to the vasari, so they need to wipe the planet clean of oxygen and rebuild using arsenic or whatever. And the bombardments contain warheads that effectively neutralize the oxygen while supplying the arsenic to the planets atmosphere. Ok, kind of a long shot, but at least its something other then why is it this way. Well thats w
Hehe, well, atleast it isnt just me getting the minidumps of death. I'm still trying to figure out why I'm getting Visual Studio errors with no info. That I'm pretty sure is a prob with the nvidia drivers.
This is why I buy your products (well this and the fact that they ROCK!). Your dedication to your players is second to none! Thanks!
Sounds good! Thanks for your dedication to your players and game!
That system worked well. I "borrowed" my acct to my friend and his dad and they went out an hour later and both bought their own copies because they were impressed with the game and the company that made it. We've enjoyed many MP games since then!
Could you image if people started saying "$50 is too much for a cell phone" or "$500 is too much for a computer" or "$6 is too much for a meal" (all US based pricing)? All of those things could be much much lower in price and the companies would still make outrageous profits. Gaming companies generally try to keep the prices of their products consistent. I mean come on, games have been coming out brand new at $50 for 20 years now. Thats almost 0 inflation in that market for 2 decades. Be gratefu
nono, I know, I've gotten 2 different errors at different times. One says minidump and the other is the C++ runtime error. We are both using nvidia drivers which may be the issue. Unfortunately this OS was through HP or whatever and it wont let me update drivers directly for some odd reason. I go to install driver and it just crashes out saying it cant install. But anyway, the minidump only seems to happen at an autosave. I know this because the prior autosave is almost exactly
This is what I did to learn most of the functions. I went through the interface and click on every button starting at the top left. Then I went through the menus and such and clicked everything in there. Finally I read a lot in the manual and the forums on functions or features that I didnt know about. The best way to learn is to play a small map on easy to get the hang of the UI and move up to medium for basic game mechanics. Then hard games to hone those skills. Thats what I did anywa
Hehe, I think you want spore when it comes out in september. That game is going to kill off alot of games for me lol. Probably not this one because it has MP and spore doesnt, but we'll see.
Meh, not really my forte in a game, but I might get it anyway to support stardock. I just have one question... Can you make up your own crazy parties?! I think it would be cool to have the ultimate extremists balanced into green party rhetoric and a hint of idealism. Lots of screwy stuff happening on the campaign trail! Just be sure to advertise this among the real politicians so that they might learn a thing or two!
More diplomacy as always. Buffs to orbital processing facilities. Superweapon button in the planet menu. On huge random maps, it would be fun to have each star populated by 1 or 2 factions rather then 5 factions in one star and 5 in another and 3 open stars. In game real time clock and alarm. So often I lose sleep because I've lost track of time! More setup options like starting funds/ships/etc. Make the migrator not act like a combat ship (i
Artificially inflating another races economy creating an imbalance in power. The way it is now is "helpful"; anything more would be excessive. Say 2 friends got together against 2 other players, but the other two players dont know they are friends. So one friend builds an economy specifically for transfer while the other friend increases his military prowess artifically large and have the means to wipe out the two opponents quickly (even if the other friend is wiped out). At least I think thats
I'm just in one of those moods where I'm sick of people complaining without constructive feedback. It's well known that selling credits is a pain, but IC has said that it is an intentional feature to prevent exploitation in MP. It's really not a big deal clicking the button a dozen or so times.
Ok, first off, basic grammar skills people! Spellcheck FTW! Secondly... ahh, its so nice having 20 super cannons firing off in succession while set to autofire. Opponents = No More!
You can, hold alt & press F4.
Bestbuy.com FTW! They deliver it right to your door step and you get the fantastic price, save for a mild shipping cost. An clearly you can get online to purchase it as you are posting in these forums so there is no longer an excuse! Latah! I should add that most stores will price match another large retailer. You just have to go in and ask if they will price match this and bring the bestbuy ad from this week (or a printout of the website). There are lots of options available f
FYI, Bestbuy has it on sale this week @ $30. Enjoy it, cause it will be a while before they put it on sale again. I've never seen GalCiv or GalCiv2 on sale at bestbuy or any other retailer so this is a real treat. If that price is too much for you, then you should really look into another hobby. Gaming just isnt for you (and neither is any other hobby worth its medal).
Nope, no mods.
Awesome to hear. I do wish the minidump error would contain a bit more info on what may have caused the problem, but as long as ironclad has some idea of whats causing them in the majority of users, thats good enough for me. Now had the same thing happened in a game developed by, say EA, I would end up having to solve the problem myself or give up trying.
Thanks! It was so suttle that I hadnt noticed it before. Hopefully now I can utilize that to increase my profits 10 fold! Now, is there a correlation between the trade ports and orbital processors? Like does one affect the other? Or are they their own entities?
What is meant by planet health other then when the number gets to zero, the planet becomes neutral again? Does it represent the infastructure on the planet? In which case, what is happening is mass genocide. Basically wiping everything off the face of the planet. Anyway, it seems "population" is gone long before "planet health".
