One other thing I found was that interplanetary rally points kept dropping at random intervals. It would be nice to simply click on a star itself and making a full system rally point on a single planet AND have it stick! :) As for the previous responses, I am running in full screen and the scroll problem happens after a while of playing. Also, I do use right click, but I still end up getting interupted by tradeships travelling around. As for the wormholes, I tried several different ways

My brother and I were just playing online and found some post 1.04 bugs. First, I sent him over 50k credits, but he received only 10k or so and this was reflected in the end game stats. So basically 40k disappeared into the abyss. Similar happened with metal and crystal. I was holding shift to send 250 at a time. My funds reduced 250 and his funds didnt increase that much. Ships kept getting "stuck" on planets, stars, and structures. Had an insanely difficult time find
This copy protection is forcing the rest of the world to play by americas rules, not all counties have laws that say piracy and software copyright even exists. Why should we have to but up with some overseas corpoate bs when technically we arn't breaking the law.Um, because the product was produced in the US?International products have to follow lowest-common-demoninator standards. Or, in this case, most-restrictive standards.BTW, your country almost certainly has basic software copyright
I dont remember where I read it, but I dont think it's limited to 3 installs anymore. If it is, I may mean only 3 active installs total. So you would deactivate one when you get a new machine or configuration and reactivate it on a the new one. I dont think you have to worry about limited installs. I remember reading somewhere, but I cant quote where off hand. It was probably on "gamingsteve" site. I'd check there for verification. Oh, right, from the quote above: 'You'll s
Further question on 'custom made ships added to custom race'. I want to know if the game automatically places things like engines, life support, etc on the ship when its added to the custom list? Or do I have to do that? Because I dont always know which tech I'm going to be starting with, I dont want to add, say, impulse drive to my starting scout if I'm not starting with that tech anyway. Does the game automatically put those items to scale to your tech or no? The real problem would co
Official word about Spore:
Hey Spore Fans - We wanted to let you know that we've been hearing your concerns about the online authentication mentioned earlier this week. I didn't want to head into the weekend without getting back to you with some information about how Spore is planning on using this new system. A few things we wanted you to know: We authenticate your game online when you install and launch it the first time. We'll re-authenticate w
I'm running vista w/ 2.0 GHz core 2 duo, 4 Gigs RAM, 8400 nvidia card and the game runs perfect save for when advent bubble ships are in proximity. Then the game slows way down. I havent noticed if my 2 cores are splitting the load or not, but things seem to run smooth even late game with 6 stars and 150+ planets. Only problem I end up with is the game crashing or minidumping. Might try vista or adding more RAM if you have the means. But specifically I've no clue on getting processors t
Found another thing I came across that wasnt clear involving improvements. The morale bonus tile appeared on a new planet. I scrolled through my list of things to build. Nothing seemed to fit that profile. So, my question is, which buildings/structures boost morale points? I had my embassy which does influence. There was the entertainment centers which seem didnt seem to fit morale specifically. There wasnt anything that specifically indicated +XX morale points. Anyway, thanks
One improvement that isnt necessary, but if you guys are up for it, I might as well suggest it. The movies in 1440x900 rez are squashed. It would be nice to have the correct aspect ratio. But thats a low priority wish :) It would also be nice to have an external ship creator. Sometimes I just like to make ships and dont want to scale the tech tree to make the big ones. Again, not a biggy, just adding to the potential wish list :) In game, i dont have alot of experience yet. I'l
Ahh, cool, thanks Achronous. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing something specific :) I will have to try out the scenario maps and build all my ships. Soon as finals are over, I'm spending a week just playing TA! Maybe I'll get some Sins in as well. Anyway, thanks again for all the help and clarification. I like this new karma system. You are definitely getting one :) Thanks again. I'll be sure to post more questions as they arise. Others, feel free to use this thread as a quest
I've been MIA for a few weeks now due to finals. Hopefully in 2 weeks I'll be able to actually play something again! It's not that I dont want to play. It's just I dont have time for any games atm. Oh well, such is life. Hope 1.1 comes out around the time I'm able to play again :)
I'm sorry, what is POTBS? I'm looking through game lists and seem to be missing anything with that acronym. Thanks
So, we as fans need to hop over to the online store and purchase copies of galciv2(GC DA TA) for a friend or ten. Stardock respects its customers/players enough to give us the complete run down of whats going on, and I think we should share this with our friends :) I'm really looking forward to what you guys are working on for the fantasy strategy game. I'll be buying it for sure! Thanks again SD peeps. You rock as always! (soon as I get some extra cash, I'll be buying anot
Well, if that is the case, I and many of my friends wont be getting Spore (or bioshock for that matter). I think I'm done with EA products. Its time for a company like that to crash and burn. The old way of doing business is dead (Ferocious IP protection at the expense of the customer). Stardock and Steam have the right idea. They get their money, we get our product, all are happy. EA (Microsoft and Blizzard to an extent as well), milk the customer for all they are worth and make sure
Am I missing something? Where in that link does it say anything about Spore having that copy protection? It seems exclusively for bioshock. Anyway, it is doubtful that spore will have that sort of copy protection. One of the demostrational speeches indicated that spore would be able to be played fully offline for those without internet connections. Spore will be one of those flagship games for EA that will hit the broadest audience possible (releasing on all platforms possible) and ther
Hehe, you guys are great. This community is definitely one of the reasons I love stardock products. That and the fact that stardock products are premium and well supported. While this thread is about game questions, I'm wondering if there is a way to make custom ships without scaling the research tree and gaining access to the larger hulls and such. I want to make custom ships for my custom race and have them automatically included when I start a new game. I figured out that I can set t
I dunno if it's SUPPOSED to be this way, but I find it extremely jarring that the weapons technology goes from phasers straight suddenly to doom rays...and that's it. I mean, one moment you're zapping away with strength 4(?) phasers, and suddenly the next thing on the menu is DOOM RAYS at strength 20-ish? What's the deal with that? What happened to all the other weapons?
Well, in WWII the world went from projectile weapons like tank shells, machine gun bullets, and light
Thank you guys so much. That is alot of help. To think of all the games I built capital structures on bonus lots lol. I'd meant to ask this question before now, but never got around to it (having too much fun actually playing :)). I was always wondering why my economy was so poor even in beginner difficulty lol. Now I just feel silly. But anyway, I really appreciate your replies and for giving me non sarcastic answers that I'm accustomed to on other sites for asking newb questions. Tha
Hehe, thanks. I wiki'ed it and found other acronyms, but nothing that fit a tech problem. I get some minidumps with Sins, but havent played Arnor long enough to know if it gives me crashes or not.
Well, eventually everything will change. But it will change globally and not for the benefit of anyone. As climates change globally, food sources will become difficult to produce and populations will decrease rapidly in a short amount of time. Now, most capitalistic societies arent based on agriculture anymore, but all the money in the world wont fill stomachs. As far as the US is concerned, if the US was non existant, food sources around the world would be greatly diminished. Places li
Hey all, I was searching for specific information on how the planetary bonuses work. Like, say my planet has a 400% manufacturing bonus. If I build my manufacturing capital on that space, is the manufacturing capital affected? Or are the bonus spots only for the basic factory (and research, food, etc) equivalents? Basically, is it futile to build things like a powerplant, civilization wonder, or galactic wonder in these slots? Or do they actually get
What is CTD the acroynm for?
I love the rotation animations! I spent 2 hours last night just making a template for my races ship design. Will probably make a new one soon that is far more complex and fun. Now, if we could import our ship creations from GalCiv2 into Sins of a Solar Empire, I'd be all set! I just love making my own look and feel. Customizability FTW!
Well, I bought it last night and it holds up to the "just one more turn" that makes the 4x games great. I havent found many bugs persay, but a few things that are of mention. First, I hadnt played on the 1440x900 with the previous GalCiv2 versions, but it appears the videos are "squashed". I guess its not a big deal, but I love the videos so much that it was worth mentioning. Second, the scroll rate at max is really slow when zoomed out. It seems to increase as you zoom in whi
I, for one, am thrilled that there is finally a game that rivals Civ in terms of scale and length but is in real time. I've been playing CnC3 since release and I just cant stand playing it compared to SoaSE. CnC3, match is decided in the first 2 minutes of play, the rest is just cleanup and wait to get destroyed. If you arent a rusher, there's no point in playing. It comes down to, if I absolutely have nothing better to do, I'll play CnC3. But if I have an hour or two (which is the usual time I
