There was another planet to be had in the direction of the Altarians, so I snagged it during the short lived colony rush. I met the Terrans and a tech free for all began. Then, yet another break came my way. A minor race… Over the next several turns, I met the other races and traded every tech I had to everyone else. Trading has been very good to me. The religious posts don't belong here. It's plain and simple. That goes for the ones that proclaim god or the ones that deny god, such as the one that is popping up to the top now. I'd like to take the request a little further than the original and ask that ALL religious topics be erased from the forums, not just taken off of the recent list. Come on. I'm not going to convince you to believe like I do and you certainly won't convince me the believe like you do. PLEASE E
Here's a no-brainer. Always choose the evil ethical choice. Even if it doesn't suit your purposes. In this case, it does anyway. It doesn't take long for my economy to tank, but then first contact is made. Things are about to go heavily in my favor. I'll trade whatever I have in exchange for anything I can trade to someone else. Unlike what you've been told so far, this includes diplomatic
A nice start. I’d prefer to be closer to the middle of the map, but this will do. Also nice, but a double edged sword. A 700% and a 300% social bonus will be hard on my economy. I’ll need to develop my homeworld slowly after the initial factory rush buy. This is something I didn’t anticipate, but will take advantage of it. I set the focus to research. <img src=" http://inlinethumb41.web
Initial setup. These graphics are pretty self-explanatory.
I never thought I'd do one of these, but some questions came from league play and I thought I’d share some of my strategies. I’m not a story teller, so this will be a technical account of an ongoing game as it unfolds. First, some ground rules. The game will strictly adhere to the Metaverse League’s Round 1 rules. I’m taking an evil alignment and outlook, so treachery will be the flavor of the day. N
I don't know of a way to keep the ships from going into orbit, but you can move them to a safer place as soon as you build them, if need be. The live player moves his/her ships first, so you'll have that advantage. Perhaps several ships being built at once on different planets can converge into a fleet.
But I do hope at some point to hear what your strategy was. Maybe after this round's over? Sounds good. But until then, I'll PM you with a temporary offsite link. Perhaps you'd like to join in with the experiments and discussions. It would be great to have a veteran like you in our midst, if you're willing.
I started a thread for evirul strategies here... Andrax.net
This is me posting a very disappointing defeat. The Thal stumbled upon planets with both Precursor Mines and Libraries and I didn't notice, leaving it unchecked. From then on, it was just countdown to their domination. I did manage to get to Galactic Understanding, though. I wouldn't be too disappointed in losing to the Thalans in this game. They seem to be almost overpowered on these settings. Something about their planet quality abilities seem to ecl
@CornhuskerMac - I'm flattered that someone of your experience would be asking a a relative noob like me about the game. The score itself was deliberate. I told my teammates about some of the strategies I used and intended to use and had let them know beforehand that I was shooting for a 20k game. This was in our private team thread at the core. I also tried for a two year and 1 year win. Those were less successful. I brought up the need for our empire to have a private s
Quick question for you Commish. Any pts for highest scoring team? You know 1st 2nd 3rd get 3 2 1 pts. He probably won't be adding any new points this round. Maybe next round as things get tweaked. PS except for team D. But of course. Except for Team D. They should get a bonus of 20 points if one of the teams score. An unbiased opinion, of course. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smil
I'm glad you stopped in, Purge. I think it was you who had once mentioned game unbalancing as a tool. What would it take to get you to disclose this idea?
I don't even try to keep up. I trade techs as much as possible with as many opponents as I can during the same turn or close to the same turn. I can't match the AI, but it's not necessary. You can trade some of your techs for something and turn right around and trade that new tech to someone else during the same turn. Some of my turns are almost completely taken up by tech trading. It's one of the very few ways you can keep your economy afloat on the higher difficulties.<
It's called "Sins of a Solar Empire". In beta now. I guess this is what´s called a "troll". ^^ You could be right... Phone Report for (636) 410-6265 NAME: AVAILABLE TYPE: LAND LINE Provider: XO Location: St Charles, MO
Welcome back Wyndstar! I hope everything went well for you.
WOOt! I finally posted a score! Good going, Zort! Now, all of the senators have posted scores to the collective evirulness! I wouldn't worry about the points. Even modded games are ok here and they score 0. I wound up being neutral... Shock! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/sm
You don't need to play as Krynn or Korath, either - they never got added to the requirement. Interesting. And thanks for the update. Edit - I'm missing one. I think you have to play as each of the 10 original races, not 9 as I mistakenly said earlier.
The good of the Universe will prevail Is that the good good or the evil good?
You get it by winning at least one game while playing as each of the major races. You don't have to play as the custom race, so you can get it in 9 games. You have two so far (Yor and Human), so you only have 7 to go. Good luck.
On a side note: Neilo, anyone with connections at the core, I have been trying to get on the core, but there is an error: HTTP 404 Not Found They recently changed hosts and part of the new path might not have been updated yet. You can get there directly (Bypassing the DNS Server) by using http://216.64.142.120 in place of the URL. (Copy the IP address into your browser). Once there, just click on the ENTER FORUM button. That looks great, MarshallONeil! I like the green aura. It has an evil Borg-like thing going for it. Venus in the background is a nice touch too.
a private forum over at the core? I'm not real partial to the core. I responded to a request for donations and asked what they needed. Gave them enough to buy a mod (which is more than I've spent at Stardock so far). Also made a suggestion about recognizing donations. The atmosphere became a little bit hostile toward me there. Bunch of self-righteous zealots. A shame, that. I'd be OK anywhere else but there.
The best solution to the problem is a biological domestic co-inhabitant, most often referred to as a wife. Mine doesn't help in that field much. It's usually after I'm tired of playing Galciv2 that I pry her away from her computer. Not always, but most of the time. Hehe.
That 700% social bonus was a bit of a double edged sword. Outstanding production, but it cratered my economy. Luckily, I'm an evirul b@stard and used diplomacy to get ahead. The game was essentially won by year three, even though my economy was still in shambles. Mopping up is taking years on a medium map. Year five now and six of my enemies have been vanquished. (Seven, if you include the minor race). Only the evil races are left. (Even the Drath turned evil on this one. Prett
