Don't fight temptation. Give in to it! ;)

Du hast Post. ;)
MoM did this, SotS does this with techs... A couple of guaranteed core spells and the rest randomised with different probabilities. Possibly affected by choices you made during the game - if you conquer a lot, you might be able to find combat spells earlier, if you explore a lot, maybe healing or world-altering spells...
Brilliant! That might take invasions to a whole new level. Any chance of allowing Terror Stars to benefit from fleet speed modules?
Are they tackling anything that requires changes to the source code?
I think it's safe to say: No. That would require access to the source code, obviously.
I'd rather have governors in the way GalCiv2 has them: As agents to reduce micromanagement. Building preset buildqueues in cities, sending units to prearranged rally points, building up mines, etc.
I'd be willing to offer some views from across the pond. ;)
Yep, it seems that nobody actually hooked up the RSS feed.
Feed Address: http://feeds.feedburner.com/Stardock/27/forum/513 HTTP Error (Code) and Message: (404) Feed not found error: FeedBurner cannot locate this feed URI.
Simply perfect. If that works out as described, it would be a compeltely new way to handle unit production. And a good one at that!
Seconded. RSS feeds for all Stardock dev journals would be greatly appreciated.
Funny thing. I just ran the update again, and this time it didn't ask to uninstall? Btw. I still have win2k on two computers (+2 XP, 2 Vista and 1 Linux) - there simply is no reason to upgrade those two. And if there are games on Impulse that run on 2k, then Impulse itself also has to support 2k. Simple as that.
Especially since they promised to bringt the MCC fix from TA to DA.
Hm. This is the first time that I regret going with a 32bit Vista instead of the 64bit...
While a full weather system may be too much, seasons should be doable. They can alter the general look of the map (a series of filters) and convey a global bonus or malus. For example, in winter, all cold-blooded units might be at a disadvantage. Dominions 3 has this system (complete with random events particular to each season), and Dom3 is what I see Elemental competing against.
Reboot available in Europe? YAY!!!
Of course it's cold, it's a space-MMO. :P On topic though: I also think the new content will be added in-between games, as each game is a 'world'. However, I'd like to know more about the options that players can use to customise the streaming content.
I'm curious how the balancing will work though. The new units and buildings etc. are going to have stats that affect gameplay. Will it be a complexity budget like Spore? A space limit like GalCiv2? On the subject of Spore, what I like is the Sporecast feature, and being able to subscribe to the creations of certain people only. Something like that would be perfect for Elemental.
Couldn't preorder, because of PayPal. But since SD announced that PayPal will be accepted for a special 'Beta-preorder', I'm definitely in as soon as possible. :)
So it appears that the 'Uninstall TA' is the way it is intended and not a bug with Impulse?
For the record: Even after several AV database updates, this false positive remains. Is this problem being communicated to the developers?
Yay! A question though: I have TA 1.99 installed, DA updated to 2.0. Why is it that Impulse wants to uninstall the 1.99 beta before update TA? I'd rather avoid that if possible.
Somehow your list of components and effects they may have reminds me of Space Empires.
Oh my god! I need to vote! Is it too late? Where should I go? For whom should I vote?! Panic!!! PS: j/k. I'm German. I'm rather amused by the voting antics in the US. ;)
For the record: You can refer to any guide for Twilight of the Arnor, as it's the same as EU. What difficulty are you playing? The AI in GalCiv is one of the best there is, so don't just start out on 'normal' or above like you might with other games. What galaxy settings are you using? What race? There are a lot of variables, but your first focus should be trying to understand the economy, as it's linked directly to your capability to keep peace a
Don't be fooled by the writing on the box.
Unless you're looking at the German release, which is correct. :P
