You should want to establish a legal monopoly with low barriers to entry and high barriers to exit. Stardock turns this on its head and provides a distribution channel for its competitors? This is so contrary to the prevailing wisdom that consumers are dazed and confused.
If you want a purely profitable buisness, then you're correct. However, Brad wants to provide a qu
Actually, originally everything except the draft age was 21. That got dropped because of the argument 'if they're old enough to die for their country...' and the alcohol age hasn't caught up. And given the stupidity college students get into every year, I'd be temped to raise the alcohol age, not lower it!
I can tell you for a fact that only 20 or so years ago that the drinking age in the US was 18. I have nothing against people being carded for certain goods despite how I feel about many age restrictions in general. The guy with a full beard may well be only 17. However, if someone is clearly of age, as in this case where the man is over 50, what are you achieving except holding people up?
It doesn't go against the lore of the game. It doesn't say that only magic users can be leaders. Let us say you play as a leader of the people who can't use magic. No one of them. At all. Doesn't lore allow groups of people no one of which can use magic? Let it be more difficult, ok. If you care about the word Sovereign, we could call it something different, a King or a Leader.
As wintersong said, yes it does. Soverigns
It's not quite what I meant. Why can't you have a sovereign who _is not able_ (it's not just ignoring something that you actually CAN) to use magic at all, but instead gets advantages to economy or research or something. Magic is still an integral part of the game, it's just that you chose someone who can't use it (probably it should be noted that this is only for experienced players and whatnot). I don't see anything wrong with thi

I've never heard of game mods voiding computer warrenty. In fact, when I went and got my comp repaired(under warranty) the question of mods never came up.

Stardock is very good about getting back to people quickly. If this were a weekday I would expect the reply back within 24-48 hours, but since it's the weekend it will probably be until Monday.

Dev Team I was curious to how the Human ships compared to each other so I put together some balance sheets using excel. I wasn't sure if you guys already had this, so if you want I'd be happy to share. It has shield/hull/dps vs supply/time/cost taking into account armor, damage types, and cap ship level. In the future I plan to add research and ability info, but I only put a couple hours into it so far - been too busy with other work or actually playing the game :)

For everybody else, Impulse warns you before you buy just what you're getting into, and you can make that decision. At the end of the day Impulse is just a store.
QFT

I suspect the update shouldn't take very long compared to having the full client. In Halo battles, ships moved themselves into posistions that that gave them the most advantage. Using dynamic movement would not be condusive to this as all the ships continue to fly in circles and make passes at each other, which is very un-Halo lile. Using the normal static movement during battles allows for relativly static battle lines, which is prominant in Halo, and allows individual ships the opportunity to make manuevers if the need arises.

Just to clear something up - The Soverign is, for the scope of this game, immortal. However, he will die eventually, it's just that the time span in-game is nowhere near long enough for that to be a problem.
