There's one more artifact that will do the trick. It's a pricey one though. I think it was Stormbringer or something like that and it has a -15% cooldown effect. It's an awful lot of work to pull it off.

Rook can easily swing a Fortress mode map due to the ability to go up and tank the Fortress while pummeling it into the ground. Regulus is good at swinging most maps. A well played QoT can swing maps pretty well too, but so can any Demigod that is well played.
If the enemy can blast through your shield with standard attacks then you need armor. I think balance would be thrown out of whack if abilities (besides minions) were scaled with items.
Well, mostly the trade off comes from having to rely on support abilities to compete with Assassins. The Idols can provide assistance to the General, but it means not getting other equipment. If Assassins had access to Idols then I think that Assassins would be overpowered. Most of the time it's best to spend money towards gear that will make support abilities better, or simply complement them.
QoT as an Assassin works pretty damned well. It's no Regulus or anything, but a QoT built as an Assassin is a force to be reckoned with.
Finger of God is a weapon that the Citadel automatically fires every so often. It will target anywhere on the map and nuke some creeps. I don't know how much damage it does to Demigods though, as it rarely hits them. It's identified by a bolt of lightning striking an area. It's a nice counter to hordes of creep. Both light and dark have this same weapon.
Mana leech, high damage, high attack speed, stun, or Silence will get the job done.
So does that mean Generals are just better than Assassains? Because they can do what Assassins do anyways PLUS they have minions? Or are idol minions so worthless Generals have to be just like Assassins?
Generals and Assassins are pretty well balanced. Generals have the option of using minions, but it's a trade off. With the money spent on idols an Assassin might have bought some decent gear.
Anyone know if life/mana steal is working through our shield? Sometimes I get the impression that it is working even when it's absorbed by the shield.
I've given up minions, I just can't bring myself to use them. Occassionally idols are nice, but usually I prefer to put my money towards other gear. Does anyone have advice on fighting Regulus? I can put up an even fight against everyone else, but a player controlled Regulus usually mops the floor in maps. The mine build is particularly nasty as it insta-gibs my shield and leaves me a half health.
Strongest Assassin: Regulus Weakest Assassin: All of them besides Regulus. :P Strongest General: Oak / Erebus Weakest General: QoT (I can't say anything about Sedna) Of course, when I say weakest I am just saying by comparison they are lesser than the strongest (duh right?). Regulus needs some balancing, and I feel that QoT needs some love as well. QoT is capable, but I feel that her minions are just lacking right now.
I'm not sure Regulus is entirely OP, but I think some abilities could use some adjusting. I don't feel that the stats listing for Regulus, or any other Demigod, really demonstate the over/underpoweredness of the Demigod. The Mines ability is a quick cast and it does insane damage. I feel it outdoes even the QoT, and maybe the TB, spells in damage. I think they need a cast time and/or should be placed at his feet. Snipe only bothers me because it has an unlimited range. As long
Can someone explain precisely how the minion exploit works so I can get that to GPG?
Basically a general buys idols from the shop; said player then summons minions and sells the idol... The minions remain, and so the player buys a new idol and repeats this process for all 3 idols, of all 4 levels of each idol.
1) Abuse the Buy/Resell exploit for tons of minions at the beginning. 2) Play their General like an Assassin, not focusing on minions at all.
I don't use the exploit, and I play my General like an Assassin, one of the ways they were meant to be played. :P
The pathing has some serious issues when navigating around curves.
I'd be fine with spending gold to restore towers. Go up to a spot where a tower once stood, click it (it'd have to be selectable like a shop) and then spend the money to rebuild it. I'd like the option to upgrade specific towers too. Giving them various traits for a price would be interesting.
I'll spread the word to people... I already am, but I mention the connectivity issues to them as well. As soon as the problems are fixed I will spread the word like fire... I like fire. :P
Huh? It's quite different from the one found here, on the Demigod Origins page.
Did you turn "Fog of War" off? If so then that'd be the problem, otherwise I'm not quite sure.
Life Leech, Mana Leech, Bracelet of Rage, and probably the crit item(s). That's my guess. What sort of build was he using? (Mines, snipe, etc)
I actually think that fortess mode is the most exciting. Fortress mode really emphasizes citadel upgrades.
Generally I find him easy to deal with, but you have to avoid his Hammer Slam attack... However, if he is a tower building Rook then he can be a bit of a challenge.
When I summon my Shamblers, as the QoT, they will attack and deal damage just fine... but none of that damage pops up on my screen, like the Idol minions. I don't know if Sedna's Yetis have this problem... Can anyone verify?
Lastly the rage quitters. NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR YOUR WHINE, really we dont care, in our eyes we played better than you, you are being a sore loser by complaining, and the more you talk the dumber you look. I dont mind people dropping out of games if they know there is no chance to win, but you can be honorable about it, "gg, you guys deserved the win, i'm out!" will do. There is no point camping at your base at the crystal making a 15 minute game last 45.
I
