Meh, things make more sense when you start looking at things for what they really are. People are still animals, and I don't mean it as an insult. People simply exhibit animalistic behaviors. A current hot topic is the idea that some things are simply genetic. Rape is a good example of this concept. In a whole "Darwinistic" approach the concept it seems like an effective trait for an animal to possess. It allows for reproduction while trying to avoid confront

LOL! Yeah, 'cause moderating the entire interweb will actually work. :P In the end the pirates are not hurting companies enough to warrant the amount of spending needed to shut them down. Then there are places that won't restrict what they can share; then there is IRC and plenty of other ways of spreading piracy. Piracy has both positive and negative aspects on this industry, and others. Pirates wouldn't have purchased the game in the first place.

Yeah, Stardock is pretty good, I played SoaSE for a while and things were good. Even with updates, I still thinks mods are essential. ;)

I dunno, it is fun on occassion. I usually just start it up, create a few things, and turn if off. I mean, the gameplay was all pretty mediocre, and too easy. The end game was a bit lackluster, but the Galactic Adventures expansion will probably spice things up. Overall, it was a nice tech-demo in my book (programmer here) and so it gives me some hope of seeing this sort of technology in the future. So, here's hoping that Sproe 2 is better... You know it's coming in a year or two. :P<

There are might be a lot of reasons why he left EA, but so far he hasn't really made any of them clear; and since he is still working alongside EA with this new (well, not really new) company he probably won't say anything negative regarding EA. So far we know about his concerned budget cuts, and he probably wants to guarantee freedom, or just not work on another Sims game. :P

A Posiedon-esque Demigod would be cool... Maps with water (shallow or non-traversible) would be cool... but a "waterworld" Demigod game would not be so cool. :P Basically this concept would require several new Demigods, all of which would probably only be usable for these maps and the originals would likely not be usable on these maps either. It seems like it'd be a lot of work.

These sorts of things can be devastating to a game. I don't know if online play is available right now or if there are even enough people online to play; then there's the fact that it's the weekend and so support is going to be limited (if available at all since it's Easter weekend). All of this can result in bad reviews by customers. It reminds me of Titan Quest by Iron Lore. The game was leaked out early on the net and pirated... but due to the game's anti-piracy code it would crash

I think the game will come out and there will undoubtedly be bug fixes and balancing to be done first. Eventually we will see the two new Demigods based on how things go with the game ( Demigods to try and balance things out ) and we will see a few new maps. After that I think we will see occasional map releases... and from there I hope to see a map editor toolset for the game. From what people have said so far it seems the map files are modeled and not built like other

Starflight? I don't know about getting the originals, but there is a fan made game at: http://www.starflightgame.com/ You have to use their forums to find the download; I can't remember the link. It's an okay game, but mostly it went unfinished (plenty of gameplay still) as the dev team had other things to do. Even still, it's open source now and hopefully someone will finish it. ;)

My 2 Cents: I'd like to see maps that have dynamic elements; such as barriers. I'm not talking destructible barriers but rather barriers that can be affected by various triggers on the map. These barriers would work to funnel units and make the game a little mroe interesting. More importantly: Mod & Map creation toolset.
You are right WarlokLord, all maps are unique 3DStudio files, the only thing the Demigod editor does is letting you place the flags, citadels, towers et.c As such making custom maps will be very hard since each one of them require soo much detail.
:( Well, I'm hoping that they change that. The longevity of a game tends to be based on its moddability. It seems wierd to release an RTS these days wit

The target demographic for most games is going to be somewhere between casual and hardcore... It's really the modders that keep games going... Whether or not they are "hardcore" depends on the modder themselves I guess. Some may play hardcore, and others might just enjoy the modding and rarely play the game.

DIABLO 3! ...Yes, I'll build a time machine, and then send the game back in time so that I can play it this year. ;) Actually, I have already planned my three games of the year. ;) Dawn of War II Demigod (duh) Dragon Age: Origins They're all listed in order of release date and not in order of preference. Demigod will be awesome; it'd be better if they release modding tools. *hint* *hint* Dawn of War II: I've alr
Wouldn't it be simpler to just let disconnecting hurt records, then?
Absolutely not! There are a number of exploits throughout various games that have allowed players to force others to drop from the game. The result is that the player who was forced out of the game will suffer a penalty, when it clearly wasn't their fault. I would like a surrender option to leave games that I've lost, but penalizing players

I have mixed feelings about observer mode in any RTS. Sure, it's nice to be able to watch games as they happen... but it'd be unpleasant to have people observing and feeding info over teamspeak. So, I have mixed feelings on the subject. ;) In the end I'd be happy with a replay feature. Going online to see some replays and/or shoutcasts of matches would be perfectly acceptable.

When looking into computer upgrades I think the first thing to consider is: Can your motherboard support a modern processor? When I considered upgrading mine I found the answer was an unfortunate NO. :( Basically my MoBo doesn't have the right pin formation to handle a modern processor. Of course, my PC is AMD... and my MoBo is a 939 socket... So, upgrading my computer is not going to happe. I also recommend checking: <a href="http://www.cyberpowe

Stunlcoking should not exist, ever. After a stun wears off the victim should be immune to stuns for a few seconds.
