There's no point in arguing this. =P Frogboy said relatively quickly, and I'll just give him the benefit of the doubt.

I really hope the new guys will be enabled relatively quickly and hopefully before Thanksgiving. Thank you.
I understand your point. However, I see serious issues with people have access to these demigods for a time where not everyone has them. Considering these demigods are supposed to be for everyone, its easy to expect people in game being annoyed when others can play as the new guys. Premades were shunned first, I don't think its a stretch for people to not play against the new guys with open arms.
Lets assume for a moment that everyone who has Ready to Play and Demigod registered is added to the DLC list. How many people is that? The point as said by Frogboy is to use Ready to Play to get those people playing together. The lesser people have access to the demigods, the lesser amount of games will be played with them. Playing as the new guys in games where there are people who do not have access to them is only going to piss them off. This is not about math in that case. And in
The community cannot balance a game. Period. There will never be a universally accepted balance mod that is played in every game. Half the people on this forum have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to "balance". GPG gets to balance. Mod balancing does not stand above official patching.
Offtopic: No matter how this ends, we will need one balance mod that at least 80% of the community will agree to use. It would be quite useful if we could get a voting mechanism in the modding forum to quickly get to an agreement of what should be modified and how. As far as I know it's rather easy to modify the price of items, which could mean a big improvement in gameplay variety. It should also be as easy to modif
I'd be happy to help test the map.
Its expensive enough in my opinion.
What are you talking about Colonel Jessep? It'll only allow Oak to remotely take down towers with flyers. Making him even better than Erebus. No bigger.
All those games were during the summer unfortunately. Like I said, I can also pull up games where Regulus is doing a ton of damage. I've always been a huge proponent of TB being really good.
Don't feel bad. Its worked on everyone who has asked the same question =P
I can seriously tell you. I even still have proof =) I've always said there's no better TB player than Falcon505 was. I also have some nice Regulus numbers. Here's 3v3s, 4v4s, 5v5s. Torchbearer does the most damage per game consistently. Period. Notice the long game where he hits 811000 =P <img src="http://screenshot.xfire.com/screenshot/natural/3498

I feel I can offer great insight in regards to beta testing. But I do not feel this is the best way. Obviously if I would ended up testing them I would start hammering away in game again. That is very true. Stardock and GPG didn't exactly predict the whole premade situation and that issue is just another one to come up. There is not enough people playing Demigod AND have Ready to Play to have a subset beta test getting a ton of games in with these guys all with different variables. The best solution is just to go all in and take a leap of faith that GPG did a good job.
If they're released unbalanced you're leaving a group of people with access to them, and a larger group of people who don't. That, and you'll be annoying the community who does not have access to them. It was said from the start these 2 guys were for everyone. The more people that have the new demigods, the more different games we will experience. You cannot assume everyone will solely be playing the new guys.
Which is why everyone should have access to them. Mirror match probability decreases the more people playing, and whining and forum comments probability increase.
I think you and I obscenitor if we had access to their full skill trees could probably point out things that look iffy without necessarily "testing" them in game. I don't see any need to do weeks of Ready to Play balance testing. They should be released to everyone and patched if issues arrise. Simple as that. Everyone remember Erebus being patched? It was done rather swiftly, so I imagine it could be done again.
If you let every player access these DGs you're just going to have a bunch of mirror matches.
That's not really an issue.
Despite popular belief, I am not familiar enough with Queen of Thorns to make an intelligent comment. My team mate Scufo always played her.
So you want people to have ready to play in order to easily contact those people, fine, contact those people anyway. The people who don't have ready to play still have access to the forums, there will be ways for them to post ideas / criticisms. Patch 1.2, aside from my really strong disagreement with Stardock's decision to "test" the new guys further, shakes up a lot of stuff. We've already had plenty of talk about the favor items. So how about the other stuff? - Graveyard Citadel Upgrade: Increased bonus from 10/20/40% to 15/30/50% Still useless. Demigod is a game about not dieing. I think TBO might be right.
I've been very supportive of Stardock's efforts over the course of this game, but this is the first time I'm going to raise a stink and openly disagree with you and hope to change your mind on this issue. And I'll approach it in a mature way. Dash confirmed earlier today that the AI will be able to use the new Demigods, but we cannot. This is completely absurd. Its one thing to be testing for bugs, which post release is not the community's job, but that of QA. But balancing is somethi
