No, the name/password worked just fine "until" he got the new compter, then, somehow, the game knew it was not the "same" computer as before, and I guess thought we were pirates or some such #$&@. I have no idea; cause I prety much just gave up too. And yes, some nice Devs on this board have told me if I send them all the new info, they'd fix it alllll up. I'm not interested; the entire process was such a huge pita for both of us, that no amount of "fun" I may get could make up for

First, the point is pretty mute now because my friend refuses to ever touch that game again. But, when he got his new computer (including new hard drive), "everything" including windows xp and GCII was reinstalled. Using the exact same passwords to get on the forums and to write to stardock got us error messages saying "you have no accounts here". BUT, when we tried to make new accounts, we got never ending messages saying "That name is already in use", "That passowrd is already in use", or w

I have the perfect example: I have a friend, a sherif, 57 years old. He had to have an operation, and he way going to have to do some recouping for several weeks at home. So, I got him GCII Dread Lords to play during his recoup. When I came to visit, I'd watch him play, and we ended up pretty much playing this one LONG game together over many weeks. Anyway, his computer conks out, so I help him buy a new one. That was the LAST time we ever play GCII, because the game reads that his compute

As for "custom ships". OMG, they are still having huge debates as it is over how to balance things with standard ships; customizable ships would be a nightmare. We all know that there would end up being just one or two weapons and defences in every ship built in the end, and then the "spammming Lazer/Sheilds" threads would start. Customizable works ok in turn based, and vs the AI, but in Real-Time and vs Humans, well, they might be able to balance it, by, I don't know, maybe the time S

First, thanks tons Multianna. Second: is it me, or is that just a really overly hidden, complex, silly place to put that stuff (especially since I installed my game on D: so I did not clog up my C: drive)?

Did multiple searches for a simular thread. Looked twice in every folder under the SINs folder. STILL can find them. I downloaded some replays, but have no idea how to watch them now.

It's kind'a sad when building Hangers and turrets are "not worth it". I understand that with chokepoints, making defences too strong can lead to impassable stalemates, but as it is, I wish that when I spent that much time/money/resourses on a planet packed to the rim with defences, that it made an opponent flinch a bit. As it is, Repair bays seem the only thing worth really building; I wish it were otherwise (big space defence guns are my favorite part of most sci-fi movies/games).

Hmmm, let me remember: At first, easy, then medium, then hard, then Unfair. I lost my first easy or two, after that (and watching a few replays), I never lost again. That is, until 1.4. Just lost my second game vs 1.4 (Unfair). First they suck you in, using a a gimped AI. Then, after your all relaxed and you think it might be a good week to try decreasing your medications, they release the REAL AI in 1.4.

That's a releif to know Drex. Boy, I was wondering there for a minute if there were serval ex-teammate noobs of yours out there shivering in their dog house ;) One of my friends is still playing the demo, deciding if he will get the game; I'm 90% sure he will. And when he does, ever after a dozen games, he will still be noobish. But it's always a great challenge (and fun) to team with noob friends, and play vs the AI, cause if your a decent player, you can still win with "not good"

I have a question: If, let's say, your a pirate, and you want to update this game, you just download the patch, right? You don't need a the serial # to do it? I'm 1.4, but I always wondered if it read my email/computer/reistration code before I could download the patch?

Well, technically, I guess there is no copy protection in Sins. BUT, if you've got to register it, with a serial #, and it only allows you two installs (I have 3 computers here, and a laptop makes 4). So that seems pretty "copy protectionisk" to me. . . I still have the Gal Civ II box on my desk; have not been able to play it since I got a new computer (and now a new email, which seems to double the game's insistance that I pirated it). It never entered my mind getting a new computer

Want to hear something odd? The first time I installed Sins on my computer, and ran it, I got the blue screen of death. Then after trying to restart my computer, it could not find the hard drive??? After hours of trying to restart it, it finally "saw" the hard drive, and the computer started again. Out of paranoia, I tried starting/playing several of my other games, which all worked fine. Then I ran Ad-aware, Spy-Bot, and Nortons Antivirus, all which came up negative. So when I tried to pl

For those uncertain, yes, it was a sarcastic compliment to the Devs (I never imagined people would actually think it was serious). And no, of course it's not the best parady written; if I could write better parady, I'd be writting for Konan or Jay, not a forum ;)

I love them; when they are attacking someone else. I hate them when I forget about the bounty, and see they are attacking me. There needs to be a patch-fix: "Toggle, Pirates attack someone else when you forget about bounty".
