So, I play my first game vs the AI and the 1.4 patch. I'm playing along, as usual, watching TV and scratching myself, when all of a sudden, the AI attacks me?!?! What the heck! What kind of bug is that! How did it slip past the programmers??? Then, I rush my main fleet to that system (just for appearancens mind you, as it will just run away the moument I warp in). But, it did'nt run??? It fought me??!! This is the WORST glitch I've ever seen the

I just lost my first game to the AI since I was a noob after 1.4. It attacked; it reinforced; it never let up, and just when I thought I "might" have a chance, culture turned one of my best planets. I surrendered. (1v1, random 20 planets, random Unfair AI).

MOO3, OMG, that was nothing but a spread-sheet program. I was waiting for that game for over a year, and when it came out, we actually had a Lan party here (catered). We ended up crying in our beer. What a disaster. And Heroes of Might and Magic 5, looks great, but even after all the patches, not one of my friends or I have ever been able to finish one MP game, lan or online. There should be some kind of law, seriously, the condition some games are released in, if they were cars, the wheel

My other gaming friends have become totaly jaded over the past 10 years (don't ever mention MOO3, HoMM5, and others to them). They don't buy ANYTHING until they read a lot of reviews, play a demo, and THEN, one of us volunteers to buy it, and be the "guiney pig". I was the GP for Sins, and I've reported to them (for the first time in years) a great game, AND, great support :CONGRAT:

I have a clock (cost $3.99) right beside my computer. It was an easy way to "patch" every game I have with a clock ;p I think it's great they are putting off 1.04; I can wait a week easily if I know they are testing it. The majority of other game companies don't put off patches because they are testing them, they delay releasing them because they have 1 person working on it for months. . .

Uhhh, actually, my friend and I, who've been playing games probably since you were in diapers, play Civ4 1v1 and 2v2 occationally. We should not have to add multiple AIs to compensate for an AI that has no chance of winning vs a human. The AI beat me my very first game (before I did the tutorials or read the manual). Or should I say, the Pirates beat me my very first game. I've easily won every AI game since, even "Unfair". The AI in 1.03 is better, but it's still only "target pract

My friend downloaded the demo last night, but wrote me today he can't get it to run either. He also has Vist. I'll tell him about the above suggestion.

Only 3 exclamation points!?!?! Ya, what's the problem! All the other RTS's are having 4-5 races :NOTSURE: What a Jip! I'd return the game if I were you ;p

I hope the campain has a "begginer" campain, or perhaps a "tutorial campain". I got a couple friends interested in looking at this game, but since it was one of thems very first RTS"ish" game, he was really thrown into the frying pan trying to learn the game from a skirmish, without the usual gradual learning curve most campains include. As for FA, I agree, FA added and tweaked many things that alway bugged me in the original SC; FA is really just a polished and more balanced SC if y

I agree about the victory screen. I've never played a RTS for so long each game (a good thing). But I remember getting my first victory, and waiting for the fanfare, or explosions, or music, or "anything", only to see the finger-painting Victory screen pop up in a split seond. It was very anti-climatic after such a long fight.

You can put them on any planet after you research them. Each one gives a bonus to the credit income of that planet. Sadly, you can put as many as will fit around a planet (my last MP opponent put up to 5 around most of his planets, now THAT'S an exciting space battle tactic :NOTSURE:). The longest "string" of planets that have at least one Trade Port will get a bonus (hover your mouse over the Credits counter at the top of the screen, and it will show a white line of the most profitable route

Having this many patches so soon is great. Like others have written, 1.4 in other games is usually 1.4 years in comming. But I'm confused about the black market changes: I just played my first MP game since 1.3 tonight, and just like so many wrote, my opponent built like 3-4 trade posts per planet. I played TEC, but was determined to see what happend if I played my best, and only built 1 trade port max per planet. Well, of course, I was slaughtered, which was disheartening, since it

I think they did a VERY smart thing. I know if I had not already gotten this game, I'd have the demo right now. And I'm sure when my 90 minutes was up, I'd want MORE. I can't stand demos that have many of the features missing, cause it's not a true representation of the game. With this demo, you get the entire game, but you just get a "first course"; if you want the whole meal, you have to buy the game. What I don't like is my friends said you have to "sign up" for the demo, and jo

Agreed, with longer range, you could literally have 15 turrets focus fire unless you lowered the damage. If the tech ugrade increaced range as well as damage, or just the range "instead" of damage, that would be something. Even the range increat the TEC gets for their turrets seems to make little difference. . .

I have found the AI very random in 1.3. A few games, it runs constantly, a few others, it stayed and fought, but it rarely seemed to matter what the odds were. My guess is, the AI only takes into account your fleet vs his fleet; not the value of the planet it is defending/attacking; not the defences around the planet; not the number of planets it has left; not the possible reinforcements it may have near; I even wonder if it takes into account "counters". I also think it has a

That's exactly what I have always thought Innov: Much greater range, even at the cost of less damage. Except vs the AI, turrets are just plain useless; If you group them together, humans just go "around them". If you spread them out to cover the entire planet, they are just useless peashooters. What I would'nt give for someone to move a scout into my planet, see I have about 10 turrets there, and rethink attacking me. I don't want them to be able to take out an invading fleet, just
