I thought the film was the best any fan of the comics could ask for. I've seen people moan about all sorts not being true to the comic but I feel they do it almost as if to prove they are a bigger fan than the next man. I mean who seriously thinks a giant squid with the brain of a psychic would be a better ending than what they have done in a film context. I could pick holes if I wanted, but I enjoyed it overall and it was as faithful as I could have asked of it. I'm

Works great for me. I'm growing my space turnip in one corner of a gravity well while my fleet is taking everything else, my fleet don't attack stationary SBs until my turnip is built. If I'm against Vasari AI then as long as the Star base is being tanked by my fleet it wont attack my own star base im building.

For Entranchment I think the Vasari ratings are wrong, deffinately for me anyway. The egg is spot on. The Volkoras Desolator is a superb ship though, no way 3 stars, I would give it 5 personally. It is always my second ship. With the Assault Specialisation and PMS as an AM sink for it's levels up to 6 it's top of the line for Star Base killing, as Vasari have to do that with fleets mostly. When it gets Disintegration and combine that with an egg nano and you
Well, lets just say I'm not a big fan of digital downloads. Call me old fashioned, but I like to have a box and a CD I can hold in my hands. Not a big fan of buying stuff that doesn't "exist", if you get my meaning. And I really don't trust the Internet when it comes to my money. If Entrenchment was sold in stores in a box with a CD, even with a price tag of twice what it is now, I would have already purchased it. S
It doesn't. But it is an MMO, and all MMOs by definition require considerable time investment to get the most out of them. That's why they are MMOs. Trying to find a good one that you don't need to put a lot of time into is impossible. Notice, I said good one
I dunno some have fun leveling that you don't need to go nuts with to enjoy. Granted to be the best and compete your statement is absolutely right, but if y

I cannot advise books as I only use reference books these days and google, I would say a good book will give you way more than google in learning though. There are bad books out there too though, do your research ;) What I can give you is tips on learning. Doing practical hands on learning is worth 1000s of hours of reading. When you start going through learning material start doing the examples yourself, get them building, running and then try and extend them yourse

Depends what you hope to create in the future, or what you might use it for. If you would exclusively be writing windows apps then C# would be a good place to start. Otherwise I'd start with C++. Starting with Visual C++ wouldn't hurt if you have good teaching material. Personally I started with Basic but I'm sure you don't need to these days.

Firstly, just wow. Loved the vid and the editing is top notch, it makes the scene of the Radiance dieing as emotional as the pilot of BSG watching the Battlestars die. But how cool would it be if the actual game could have this kind of imagery. How far off are we from graphics cards being able to apply these kind of image filters to our games? Primarily the colour hue filter, it's a pretty special effect but ofcourse the motion blur effect probably add

I play almost always Vasari and here is why I can't see myself changing, esspecially in Entrenchment. I kick off with the Egg, I usually only ever build 1 but i'll rebuild one if I fail and get it killed, like I did last night >. I'll back him up with Assailents until I decide it's time to up the Fleet Logistics. I bring out a desolator normally on the Logistics upgrade and start backing up my fleet with Sentinels. If the enemy aren't on top of me alre

Was it Morrowind or Oblivion where the expansion has an assassin try and kill you to start the quest line? I bought the game with the expansion and I remember killing that Assassin and the armour I looted from him was crazy, I couldn't get better for way too long. Really screwed up the balance of my game. Are you in the US? I'm in the UK and lag might prevent us from playing together?

The state they released the game in was crappy however. Rushed through production to get it on the shelves before Christmas. You know, I can't totally disagree with that, but I can't really care too much either because they have fixed everything on your list anyways. It's kind of common anyway that millions of people playing are going to make these bugs evident. Did you personally find each of these bugs or did you, like me, discover them on a

When I first got the game the TEC never appealed to me, too generic I guess. I loved the look of the Vasari but I loved the voices of Advent way more. In the end I abandoned the Advent and stuck with Vasari because my success rate with Vasari was a lot better. I'd love to be good at Advent for them voices but I suck with them :(

Check the defencive tech tree, can't remember the name. In it there is a research to allow your colony ships to create Star Bases. The research has several arrows showing it is a prerequisite to a few other techs.

Sorry I'm struggling with your English a little bit but I think you are trying to say that the neatral ships in a gravity well at the start of the game aren't sieging the planet once it is colonised? I don't get this behaviour at all, is it possible that the siege ship is still attacking it's current target?

I expected more from Valve.
Depends what you mean by shallow. Not a lot of content? Well neither has Counter Strike and I wouldn't call that shallow.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Jestors "2 Clowns came back from the future, 1 to protect him, 1 to Terminate him" Seriously when did Terminator become a comedy?! I was gutted with what they did to the franchise, almost as much as I what they have done to the Aliens franchise :( @ killforcash <a id

Left 4 Dead I remember a friend recounting a preview of it over skype with several of us and me laughing at him how the previewer was having a litteral orgasm over it. How wrong I was to laugh. Coming accross a game in the arcades on what must have been a 40" screen, 2 people seated rotating the arcade stick to the sound of the characters on the screen going "Hadoken!". Someone explained to me this was a special move....wow.
