You are doing yourself no favours.

Mini dumps are just crashes, I think the name Mini dump is the name of the action the program does to dump log information to a file. Anyways it is possible that 2 clients de-synchronizing could cause a crash, like client A telling client B that he has just moved some ship from A to B and then client B says "there is no ship, oh shit, Mini dump!". I think though, like Annatar says, these Mini dumps are memory issues. I managed to reduce my crashes to only really big game

Well the TECs doesn't only save you 500 credits, it gives you the amount of time it takes to build them extractors in resources too. Some times I don't queue the resources first because other structures are needed with a priority. The advent one does some really good though if you take advantage of it.

Perhaps before you ask for nerfs or balance you find out what you are talking about. The TEC Colonise is probably the best or on a par with the Advent Proginator ability. The Vasari one is next to useless.

On topic; more factions. I want lots of different flavours to what I'm encountering in large single player games.

(From memory) Click on single Player. Click on New Game. Choose map size etc. Basically get to the bit where you are selecting the races, how many AI to have and what difficulty. Now from this screen in the bottom left of that window is a button
You guys see nano only as cap killers?
No but it's a damn slow death to try and kill frigates with only 30dps or whatever it is. Best thing about Nano is the armour debuff for focus firing. Cheers Annatar. I was thinking about the change they did to Caps to make them better at firing their banks at different targets and mixed it in my head :)

40 Replies 13,157 Views

The Volatile Nanites does about 1000 damage to other ships when the effected ships die I think, would work really nice with a phase missile swarm spam. That's not the reason you use on the focus target though, it also increases the damage the target takes, which is why you use it. Personally with a fleet of caps all my caps would be firing the same target so I would only have use of 1 Nano-Disassembler at a time, with caps having multiple shots per bank now I'm sure more wo

I would use 1 to chain Nano-Disassembler on the current focus target and the other to chain Gravity Warheard when it's needed, apart from that why would you need more? Pretty sure Nano-Disassembler doesn't stack. I stand by my Skirantra statement, using up 1 slot for a very weak heal and extremely low damage is cra

40 Replies 13,157 Views

From a Vasari perspective I think your line up is slightly wrong. The Skirantras are a waste, most of their good abilities buff strike craft and you wont have many SC to worry about. Their repair cloud is good as an AOE heal but it's pretty useless at keeping up single targets and your caps are going to get focused. You would be better off creating some repair planets near the front. I probably wouldn't take any Skirantras. To deal with enemy Strike Craft you m

Personally I find the diplomacy side of the game doesn't really add to the fun of the experience. Have you tried the game with locked teams? The main problem is the AI can become chummy really easily, whereas it's a lot of work to keep the AI's happy.

8 Replies 11,443 Views

I'm all for them making strike craft act a bit more realistic in terms of docking but I'm pretty sure they don't need a nerf. The best way to even them out would be if they fixed the stupid flak frigate AI so they didn't chase fighter squadrons accross gravity wells when there is a ton more right near them. Having said that I think it's a shame that gameplay rules overrid common sense that they decided not to give caps and star bases flak guns.

I just didn't realise you were talking about fighters and bombers as weapons. I was thinking how do fighters or bombers have modular weapons? It's a lot more clear what you were trying to say now.

Steam is good. For the sake of argument, let's say Steam is 10X better than Impulse in every way. Would users be better served if only Steam existed? <br
One of the things I routinely see on-line when they hear about something new about Impulse is someone commenting “I wish they’d all just consolidate under Steam.” So strong is Steam’s fan base at this point that the most vocal comment about Impulse on third-party sites is the desire by some that it didn’t exist and was instead replaced by a monopoly.
I'm not sure where you are going with this post Frogboy.
