CTD when using Ctrl+N in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I thought I would try out the new feature to get a different map at the start of a game. If you do noting except look at the star distibution and zoom in there seems to be no problem. But if you click a star system or colonise a planet then ctrl+n it CTD. Now I know that it may be designed so you can only use it right at the start of the game and if you do do anything it wont change the map but I don't think it should CTD. Anyway here is the SE OS Version : Windows XP Video Card : N

I could be wrong, but has anyone noticed that after a save all your ships seem to loose a lerge amount of their hitpoints. Every ship seems to be repairing themselelves. Or have I missed something?

Anther thing I would like to mention. I don't think the UP or events is working quite as it should do. I get special events and UP isues early in the game but not (as well as I can remember.) later in the game. Is this because. There arn't that many UP issues and events in yet and when they have been used that's it. Or there should be more of these but I just have'nt seen them in the last game. I would like to see a UP issue every 2-3 years and other events every 1

I've won both Political and Influence. Though on a big map the thought of building, filling, transporting, defending all those transports will stop me from trying a millitry victory. Plus when you do take a planet you kill all the tax payers. Much better if you can to get a defecting planet. I have noticed that combat transports are the best ships in the game for defending star systems. 3 will stop all most anything.

You can only offer it when you are "close" with another civ. Usually this means giving gifts tech etc.. As soon as close comes up in the relation screen for that civ the alliances option shows up.

Just finnished 1st game beta 4b. Excellent, However I am experiencing some frustrations with the auto pilot option. When you move large numbers of ships from one side of the galaxy to another, I get the feeling that some of the ships arn't moving. So I put view autopilot ships and they are moving, but it takes a long time. So I take view autopilot ships off. when I press find nothing happens but there are ships with move points unused. I think that when auto pilot is moving ships nothing happens

CTD with Minor civs on diplomacy in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I pressed minor civs buton on diplomacy screen and it crashed. However I think the last minor civ defected to me earlier on so there were no minor civs to talk to. I agree with The Hampster and JayG. I was playing a game where the Arcadians and the Yor were kicking my arse. The arcadians where the strongest military and economically. The Yor were culturally superior and I was reduced to just a few blue sectors. Then rhe Arcadians started to loose planets to the Yor so their economy suffered and eventually their military. So they sued for peace. Gave me a breather. Next the Toreans (who I allied with) became strongest military. I could'nt finnish

Had half a game, seems good. One thing you may want to look at is that with the minor races. When trading with them if you ask for one of their planets they won't give it to you for anything. Ask for 2 or more planets and they will give you all there tech the planets for one piece of your tech. They will even trade themselves out of existence. I have seen this in previos builds and it is still there in 4b. The caracnoids seem to be immune, but the offshhot civs like the dregen peace gro

I had the turn button lock up I saved the game and tried to load it. It crashed. Here is the SE and Debug err. I sent to SD as it was 79 pages long. Hello again Brad I sent you that debug err file to get it out of the way. When I loaded previos civ. Only a few turns into it I got a 9 digit influence where the toreans had only a 4 digit number. This has happened to me before and I have sent in the saved game, as I will with this. I will send it for your attention but please redirect it to whoever is the best to deal with it.

Brad Just had a new game all going well then I pressed turn and an info screen telling me something had happened came up in the mini map area. Then that cleared to the mini map and the Terran Icon flashed up intermitantly. Now I can't press any buttons. The screen will scroll across no problem but I can't click the mini map to move. looks a bit like what you said above. I run XP Pro as well. If you need debugg err file I will send it.

No Ted I could'nt have beayen them, but as they were on the other side of the galaxy they did'nt botherme until my survey ships went there. Then I made peace with them easily. I don't know if this will always be the case.

I had the Dread lords. They were on the other side of the galaxy and stayed there. It only caused me a problem when my star hawks were over there getting anomolies. So eventually I made peace with them in the minor races screen. Eventually I started trading with them.

I would like to ask a question. Hands up all thos who think average ai setting too hard. I played one game on dumb and that seemed about right but average well by the time I meet the first of the ai they have a list as long as your arm of techs and I have none to trade or give away to grease the palms of diplomacy or buyoff the oportunists. I get one at war with me and the rest trying to extort money from me. even when they are warm of friendly toward me. No free ships to aid m
