I do not want to be a party pooper but Honoverse mods have been started and shutdown time and time again throughout the past 5-6 years. David Webber (when asked by a Homeworld 2 modding group) stated that he while he did not have a problem with people making things, Baen Books would likely serve a cease and desist notice. And they were served that notice. I would be careful distributing what you h
My question still stands ... where is my boxed content that I already purchased?!
I would like to see either another expansion of Sins2. In any case I would like to see more. :-) This is a unique game play style mix that has a lot of possibilities. I mean, just look at all the awards this game won! I believe that the Sins Optimization Project might possibly have 'something' to do with this but I have no concrete information to support or deny that case.
Stant, you just made me smile. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
I have been extremely busy with real life. cptblock, if you get a chance to take some screen shots I would very much appreciate it. myfist0, as always, you are amazing. :-)
Carbon, could you elaborate a little?
*references his previous post in this thread about Infinity - Quest for Earth's development time* Chill dudes. :-)
Totally agree Imperium. :-)
The black holes only appear in galaxy forge maps because if they are included in random maps, the AI tends to fall into them repeatedly. [e digicons]8C[/e]
Similer, I believe what Mr. Fraser has done has set it so that the planet icons dissapear after you zoom out far enough, just leaving the stars behind. Out of curiosity, could you pm the approach you took to get where you are myfist0?
Let me remind you, unless there has been news somewhere else posted about this, IronClad did not ASK to use the Optimization project, it was suggested to them to include elements of it into their next patch. It is being looked into was the understanding that I have of that situation. Also, people say the Devs didn't do enough to open the game up for modding, compared to what it was when it released, they have done a LOT to open this engine and it's content up for moddin
Good to see this is rolling along very well. I agree with MajorStress, leave the main combat ships alone model wise, focus on structures and npc objects. Also, try not to rag on IronClad too much, they gave us a great game and we in turn are trying to help them out also. [e digicons]:D[/e]
It is my understanding that some of what the TSOP team has been working / worked on is reducing the resources required for the mines? This would help with late game lag somewhat correct?
Don't thank me bud, Thank Mr. Fraser for taking the spare time out of his weekends to look into these things. [e digicons]:andrew:[/e]
Major Stress, could you place what you just posted in the OP as a 'realistic' mission statement? I think what you just said is a very realistic view.
Pbhead, you are correct. However, the TSOP project is being looked at as well to my understanding. There is no confirmation about any changes concerning that however. When I have some, I shall post an update.
Agreed.
agreed!
Thankfully there are confirmed rumors of another patch coming down from IronClad for Sins, just depends on when it decides to show up. No idea on what it fully contains other than a small fix which will allow for a huge multi-star map (100 plus stars) to be created. Running it is a different story but that's another challenge. In about a month I will have a map put together for testing that would utilize this fix. :-)
myfist0 has a valid point. Doesn't need to be crazy fancy, would prefer it wasn't. BTW, sins now runs on low enough resources I can run it on my buddy's ATOM 3 netbook for a good 40 minutes before it locks the system up on low settings 1 vs 1. Very neat little thing that is. :-)
A big draw for this project both for myself and likely for it's potential future as a direct patch ad-on from IronClad is if gameplay functionality does NOT change. This concerns the reduction in the number of trade vessels (which I and others actually attack in multi-player games to prevent resources) as well as fighters doing goofy things, etc. If you mess with actual gameplay mechanics, I can almost 100% garuntee that this mod will not be accepted as a patch due to t
The Undying, Be aware that the issue of making huge multi-stare maps with planet icons not behaving correctly when zooming out has been solved according to Blair Fraser. It will make it into the next patch for Sins. :-)
HEY! This is NOT a post about bashing on IronClad or Stardock!!! This is a thread concerning the possibility of a new update and the content in that update. If you want to complain and whine about stuff please start your own thread as I will NOT tolerate this thread being hi-jacked into one about people who are whining and complaining to ME to fix things. If you have some issues, contact Sta
I have recieved word back from Mr. Fraser that he has indeed made the appropriate change concerning the planet and zoom issue. He has mentioned that he won't be pressing Stardock to release the patch until things calm down due to the soon to be launched Elemental game. He says that a new Diplomacy build needs to be created and placed on Impulse. I asked him about the Sins Optimization Project and hope to have an answer back. I will keep everyone posted. There IS hope!</
