Everyone and their dog knows that Rook is overpowered. Those who insist otherwise are in denial and the subject of my earlier replies. That brings up another point. Demigod never got a serious public look at balance. We got a few piddly updates, but there was never a dedicated balance patch and gameplay for Beta 3 like Stardock suggested there would be.
Quoting _Mercury_, reply 14 To call the game "great", I require more strategic depth and better maps - more reactive, more open, more three dimensional. Ok, so now we want to create Demigod in the Unreal 3 engine?
This is what I meant when I said criticism wasn't well received on this forum.

Don't get me wrong: I like DotA. Copying and improving upon another game is perfectly fine by me, but does Demigod actually improve on DotA? The one gameplay feature Demigod boasted -- the only thing that really separated it -- was the generals. On paper, it was a brilliant idea. In the end, and in my opinion, the final general implementation was poor. They are not in line with what was originally announced, and they don't play nearly as well as the assassins when used as actual generals.
Balance is also a big problem.
This game has balance? I wasn't aware they had started the balancing process. And I'm not being sarcastic either.

Again, I think people are missing the point. I know about backdoor teleporting on Crucible. The point is that the game gets to a point where it's physically impossible to kill someone because the enemy regenerates faster than you do damage. I don't think that should be possible.

Even if you can ignore the enemy and go right for the citadel, should that be possible in the first place? Should it get to the point where you simply can't do enough damage to kill someone? I don't think so.

As the balance currently stands, a 2v2 that progresses to the end game takes far too long to complete. With the sheer amount of damage reduction and health regeneration possible, and only two demigods to burst with, no one can die. All you can do is hunker down until you own every single artifact. Something needs to change.
See, if you said Oak or Sedna I'd be fine with that, because they are fun to play in the same way Regulus and Rook used to be. The only difference is that people know how to play with Reg and Rook so they get nerfed.
That's a wonderful ad hoc rationalization for your narrative. I agree that Oak and Sedna are powerful, but they aren't so damned easy to play. With Regulus you just walk around and shoot stuff. His mines a

You guys are so used to walking around, mine stacking and instakilling everyone, sniping every 10 seconds for obscene damage, that you've lost your frame of reference on how a demigod should play. You aren't happy unless Regulus can dominate the game in the most frustrating way possible for other players.
Is this about Regulus, or you getting bashed as QoT by Regulus. I challenge you to a 1v1 as you being Regulus, and me being Sedna or UB or Rook or maybe even oa
That's a theoretical, right? Or have you faced off against the mad miner of Demigod? ^^ For the most part, Regs will only mine around flags and in creep lanes. The grunts will blow up any mines they run over, so you don't have to worry about those too much, and that leaves a maximum of three totems to plant at each neutral flag, for a cost of 150 gold.
That doesn't help the center flag on the water
if you walk over one mine and see it explode, and continue walking, thats your fault if you die.
Not really. The 200 ms delay means it's almost impossible to turn around before most of them explode.

QoT is the weakest by far. She can't do more than 150 damage to other demigods. Her one saving grace was Compost and tower sniping, but they nerfed that to only benefit minions. The spikes are decent, but they can't keep up with the spam later on. Shamblers are useless.
Reg is weak on this beta now, 6 mines total, only weak player will die from that.
Why do you think Regulus should be able to stack so many mines he can instakill someone?
