That is not true. Have you studied art by chance? All photographs are not art. Art is an expression, not just a thing. Art is not classified by what it is but what it expresses, what it conveys. If you walk around your house taking photographs of your stuff so you have an inventory of your things for insurance purposes, that is not art. If you walk around your house taking photographs of your life, of what you have accumulated and you inte

I personally like the genophage thing, it sounds on the face of it like a evil plague of doom but it seems really nessesary if you look deeper. I also like the Quarians and thier Battlestar galatica fleet of runaways lol.

MP tactical battles are a must IMO. Theres nothing worse than creating a huge force and then sending them off to war and getting a big screen saying "YOU LOST! All your troops were killed in action (they probably got stuck on a rock and nobody was there to command them out, oh well)." That direct control in the heart of the conflict is what gives personality to your units.

Thats why I don't like his argument he defined art subjectively for his own personal view then made a judgement (games not art fools!) then didn't tell us the exact definition of art so we know why games arn't art. (I.e. its not art because he dons't like it). So if some games are and some are not, we must know what "art" IS.

The itemisation in Dragon Age was horrendus. Especially for mages. But 'random' would NOT have fixed the issue - it would have made it worse or better - randomly. Unique items are cool but we need good filler items (the +3 swords from DnD) to appar frequently so you are always upgrading. Farming a boss via reloading to get a good item is just NOT FUN.

But... Would you buy a Twilight RPG from bioware? lol You can only play a female char and you have to choose between furry or goth culture before the final showdown with your own soul! Note: Please no.

I think they took ME2 in the right direction (towards the shooter) because they also had DA as a item based proper tactical RPG along side it which is why some of us have thier panties in acrobatics.

On the whole Good vs Evil thing, I though that was a let down in DA. I was usually friends with everyone in DA (which is odd since there is the curel and the kind split in the party), and on a saddistic playthrough I didn't have enough fun since everyone was ethier dead or didn't say much to me (even though they were at -100 its no different than -25 or so which is a TINY bit different than 10). Usually my evil females are the most interesting and fun playthoughs that I do las

I played all the origins but couldn't do the whole play throughs. The dwarves defiantly have some really cool story but the main story to me was about the human factions and how their actions effect the coming conflict with the darkspawn the noble origin seemed more prevailent to that rather than a "side issue" if you see what I mean.
You mean the company that has loosened DRM on their PC games, not gone into the Steam only crowd, kept their games at $50, tried investing into original IPs (Dead Space, The Saboteur, Mirror's Edge) rather than pump out sequels like the rest of the industry? Yeah, EA is really terrible.
While I don't trust any large company that much EA has done a hell of a lot of good things lately. They totaly went out and got new IPs as
Sure your "choices" carry over, but what effect do they really have? There are some different characters you interact with, but otherwise you're on the same rails that any JRPG sets you upon. Not only that, but for all the improvements that are made the invested time to deliver them is robbed from the production of actualt content. How many hours of real storytelling was there in Mass Effect vs Baldur's Gate 1?
This is a point I take slight issue with. When it c

Umm there was someone running up to you asking you to save thier town and there was a 'invesitagation' quest (which was also the haunted house quest). Rose. Glasses. Tinted. :P I prefer DA to BG + IWD and I liked the characters (well alistair) better than the chars in Planescape. Mods fixed the storage, micromanagement and nudity (not enough) probelms for me so it was a really fun game. Like BG but grown up with better looks.

I would just like to mention how Planetside back in 2003 was so far ahead of its time and then so horribly mananged by SOE, where MMOs go to die. Planetside had no 'out gearing' it was a progression for your ability to handel more than one type of situation rather than make it easier to kill someone. A brand new level one who knew the game could pwn hrd with almost any equipment there was in the game. Of coruse lack of sanity checks resulted in warping which with the lack of d

I too want an X-Com with better graphics - what I don't want is a switch to super detailed completly static enviroments that can't be destroyed. How are they sending traffic to steam? Lets say Mr X wants to buy Civ5. Senario A: Mr X has impulse. He sees it on impulse and buys it, it gives him a key for steam, he loads up steam and is now in the steam path. Senario B: Mr x has impulse. He dosn't see it on impulse so checks steam, there it is. BUY. He is now in the steam path. I don't want A to ever happen, but why is this driving traffic to steam? I don't understand.

The bit that can seem weird is the fact that people are going to buy the game anyway, they are going to have a steam account anyway, they are going to get the sales and promotions designed to upstage you anyway, they are going to have everything you describe the only difference is that you dont get those short term dollars. Personally I think all those market reasons are unimportant because of the above. I don't want to see steamworks games anyhere else (other than reti
