Any particular problems worth mentioning ?
I've had a few, such as all the girls don't think what I do is "worthwhile"...

Which didn't even make sense, the advent strike craft were awesome, now they look like they came from Homeworld lol. And as far as someone replacing an ENTIRE race of ships, that would be one of the most pointless things to do ever. I mean if you going to go to the trouble of designing and building ALL those assets and at the end they just going to REPLACE the current ships?!? huh?
I prefer my mind TBH.
Yeah the particle system can't handel turrets.
why the hell would you want a starcraft mod? I mean there is like 5 space faring ships lol... and all of those you could probably use in starcraft 2. :P
Animated turrets arn't difficult for a PC to do, if you actualy know the transform matrix math (I don't lol) you can 'easily' do a calculation like that, other than that you need to define a rotation point for the 'base' and the 'arm' (no diffrent than a point for a weapon but with a name like "Turret01-Base-Point"). It would be a LOT of work for a pretty minor feature though. The problem comes in working out how the game is going to work with the turret - play freespace 2 to s
They will probably release a new version (and new refrnce files) after the final patch.
It dosn't work with the beta patch.
...or like one where you can BE anything like SWG?I remember those days of SWG too, just after the release of JTL it all seemed good... Then the so called upgrades and respecs came ruined it RUINED IT I say.The STO game has been in development for a while, it was started by Perpetual Entertainment which went bust and probably sold its assets to Cryptic. It's the same game just with a new company name. From what I heard, Cryptic only brought the name "Star Trek Online". The game Perpetual m
Curse of MMOs. They are so expensive to develop and support that an MMO flop is a Bad Thing. So developers always want to stay on the safe side and most MMOs tend to keep the same basic elements. The downside of course is that people start getting tired of seeing the same gameplay over and over only with different environments and character textures MMOs, sadly, rarely innovate much. I would call EVE Online one of the most innovative MMOs, but it's a niche game really - there's rarely mor
Don't get your hopes up.Never do
Its depressing isn't it. :P
Perhaps you should try and get better at modding rather than telling other people the standard varietys of diffrent faction themes in every game ever. :P
Stargate MMO, new Star Wars MMO and a new Star Trek MMO... I sense a disturbance in the bank balance... as if a million fan boys are about to make some executives very, very rich. Star Trek has some really nice sci-fi stuff that could be put into a game (better than before at least). This MMO seems likely to be a simple Picard simulator with WoW rules though. Don't get your hopes up.
Maybe they are using the new GoW 'measure of sucsess' that Crytek is using: "If it dosn't outsell Gears of War its a FALIURE and it's all because of pirates!"
I have to wonder, what could that?
what could that? You engrish it good, yes! Wan-hundar-parscent! Hai! Seriosuly though, thats should be super easy to make - which is why I like this engine. Now if only we had some way to trigger changes in graphic effects...
MY guess at why there is not turrets is because they are freaking difficult to do properly in terms of balance, unless you just want them to teleport to the new direction they can mess with all sorts of fire rate, tracking and related things. They have a pretty awesomely simple front/back/left/right system (2D esentialy). With turrets this makes it difficult to work with since turrets could potentialy rotate to all four and then if it can, which one does it count as? Its
Crap. That sucks and will make the mod way harder. Now I'm gonna need a conversion chart and may have to compromise some of the design just to make it work.
This reminds me of a Blind Guardian song... Welcome to modding.
Couldn't leave it half hanging.
Personaly I wait until I get home...
Yeah, if someone manages to make a good MMO star trek game, I will be so suprsied I might even try a mac... or even... a console. Thats never gonna happen. (And my standards for 'good' are high - is not just WoW with picards face stuck to a generic human model.)
indeed, most weapons simply pick a random point on the hull/shield mesh to fire at (usualy on the 'side' of the attack).
Yes, you must capture an enemy's colony ship, and then use that to colonize. That will be the hardest part of being the Rogue. You must think like a pirate.DANMAN
Shiver me timbers and pass me a bottle o' thar rum! ?
Your not looking hard enough, its the name weapon0 is the first weapon in the entity file, second is 1 and third (max of 3) is 2. hangers, exhaust and abilitys all work automatical based on the name again. You don't NEED to have any textures but it will look strange in certain situations. In fact it dons't spout errors at me and I have textures that don't exist being refrenced by the .mesh atm. Yes the dev.exe can reload almost anything on the fly, s
Does the flag "SynchronizedTargeting TRUE" work for missiles? I've never tested it myself.
a few smart ones will agree with me.
You might need to update your definition of 'smart'. Seriously though, I can't tell if this is a joke or well... yeah. Either way its not very good.
The Tec bombers look very advent style (smooth and curvy).
