3 and 4 am nights (or is that mornings) are common place for me right now with this game....

how do you make your own logo? I was going to try and find a pic...but i can't get it small enough....
I just got a message from teh Drengin...they wanted a prize star system from me...I rejected their "nice" offer....by saying: "Oh? Well here's a message for you: Kiss. My. Ass." Ok, I thought it was funny...wasn't expecting it....i think I woke my kid up laughing about that... LOL
i think i got the update...finally....it downloaded a file that was 1.03MB....but, the exe file still says 1.0.0.1 Is it supposed to say something else?
my first game, so far the only game i have been able to play....Game was set to beginner, medium galaxy... The Arceans (who were neutral) won the game....I started out on good terms with them, I was neutral for the entire game, but i did get down to 31 as my morale rating. We made it up to "friendly" relations. They also helped me (by giving me ships and money) when I was attacked by the Altarians and the Torians (they were in an alliance for most of the game). Relations began
how do you know exactly what version you have? On SDC, it says i am fully updated....but the .exe says it is only 1.0.0.1
OK, uninstalled, reinstalled GalCiv....went to SDC, shows my version (GalCiv) is 1.0.00 It shows a new version 1.0.01a (i think, something like that)... I click update, it starts to download a file that is just a bit over 3 MB....it says that it is updated.... it still shows that I am not current on the multimedia or the bonus pack.... i have the retail version...
ok, downloaded the 85MB file...it said that it was installed....the version (in SDC) shows 1.01a BUT, when i go to the exe file in the GalCiv folder, it only shows 1.0.0.1 Is this what everyone is saying is wrong?
it shows i have 1.01 installed, but still downloading the full 84.5MB file....about half way done actually...
I am downloading 84.5MB also....that is not the right file?
When i gave some ships to another race last nite in a game, i noticed when it came to be my turn again, the ships I gave him was sitting outside my systems.... BUT... They were damaged....They were not damaged before I gave them to him, but they were afterwards.... Wondering why? Could it be i had some "things" in those ships (tech related stuff) that they didn't have, and it was ripped out or something? Just wondering... Also, got a question about th
Is there ANYWHERE i can go to learn more about combat? I really cannot figure this thing out. Not sure as to why a fleet of ships (BattleCruisers, let's say 6 of them for example) cannot defeat one Battleship. All i see are my BattleCruisers getting totally wiped out (in what appears to be only 1 shot from the Battleship). This is the one thing that i wish was a bit different. I don't mind the simplifying of combat...But i really cannot figure out why a FLEET of BattleCruisers, with a
how do you wipe them out? I invaded their capital planet (which was one of my planets)...can you eliminate the threat before they actually take over the planet? After i successfully invaded their planet, they were eliminated from the game...but good God....that was pretty...well, intense.... I never really fully recovered from that ordeal either....
concerning declaring war.... What if when trying to declare war, to try to avoid the Senate vetoing the act, you have the option to "bribe key Senate leaders"...different amounts of money (yes, it would come out of the Government Treasury, money laundering, you know). The higher amount of money, the better the chance that the Senate members will be "bought"...but also, the more money you pay out, the more likely your little bribe will be "found out". If that happens, then Morale goes do
I lost....not bad really (medium galaxy, all AI set to beginner)....It came down to me and the Arceans at the end...I attacked them, but it was too late...they had battleships and Dreadnaughts...the best ship i had was a Frigate and BattleCruiser...although, i was in the process of building my first Battleship. I really am not good at computing combat...need to practice on that... I submitted my game to the Metaverse...it went through with no problem...i am ranked 162 (lol....Y
Has anyone figured out a way to defeat these guys? They have shown up...taken over one of my planets....and are stripping me of all my dignity. Please....help
I have a suggestion....it may have been mentioned already though... I have noticed that it is kinda a pain trying to figure out where my ships are that I am giving over to another empire. Is it possible to maybe make it so either we could see where a particular ship is in the diplomacy table screen? Also, is it possible to make it where a ship is auto-given to an empire straight from the assembly line? A setting or something in the planet production screen or somethin
what would happen if i simply have the retailed box version? after a year, will i still be able to get updates? or will i need to pay again? right now, they don't accept checks via internet...that is the only way i can pay....
ahhh....the subtle part called politics....
I am in the same boat now....i loved MoO3....now, I am hoping that it takes a bit longer to release the patch...that way i don't feel guilty playing GalCiv so much :)
my question about trade goods are: 1. How do you use them? They are like inventions, right? 2. What happens when i trade them to another race?
Is it possible to just go back to Imperial rule if the Senate keeps blocking your war efforts?
simple, yet very effective....Especially with all the different "tactics"....FINALLY, a pc game that protrays NBC warfare correctly!!! I am getting close to taking EVERYTHING else off my pc, and just playing GalCiv....the political parties (I was actually cut off from declaring war against the Yor....)...to Planetary Invasions (probably my favorite part of the game so far, next to the Empire Senate)... I have never seen an AI do anything like this before: The Altarians
oh, one more thing...frogboy, i think you are Brad, the lead designer....(i think)....well, I have personally NEVER seen this type of support for a game....EVER....thanks for the hard work to you, and the rest of your crew...
What exactly is meant by "multimedia"? I read somewhere else that there is multimedia downloads...I bought the retail version from EB...does it already come with that multimedia? Thanks p.s. I would really like to see the branching storylines also....would be real cool
