Tiles keeps telling me I need to upgrade but I'm already at the version it claims is newer than the one I have.

I usually save only the most recent version although I have oler versions of some of the installations. Not however, WB. Maybe a support ticket can resurrect a copy for my use.
Given the number of people google finds experiencing this problem I find it unlikely that WB is the cause. But just in case, where can I find the 8/1 version? Its it still available for download?
I have a different problem that Stardock was unable to resolve. I am curious if anyone else has seen it. If I create a fence from icons located in a folder there is a good chance that the sort by name option will mis-sort an item or two. Three of my ten fences display this problem. If I create a folder portal from the same folder the fence does not display the problem.
Ugh! The problem has returned for me after 2 weeks of running cleanly. [e digicons]:'([/e] If the OP ever finds a solution that works, please post it here. Going to check my registry but I doubt it's reverted to the old setting.
Try this registry fix: Change HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Explorer/Advanced/SeparateProcess to 0 and then reboot.
Zorin looked like a fun tool to try until I read this link which describes how to dual boot. Can it really be this hard to do? I didn't need to do anything special with Ubuntu. http://zoringroup.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2601
I found OD very slow on Windows 7 so I have moved to Fences and Tiles. Often OD would grab 25% of my total CPU, enough to trigger a Norton alert.

No error messages but now that I looked, it didn't install. Still running 8.05. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] After a reboot it says 8.06. [e digicons]B)[/e]
The Start Menu with the Metro tiles on the side is ugly. Why not have the tile menu function the way the desktop functions in Windows 8, just the other direction? That is, it's a program available from the desktop Start Menu that gets you into the tile mode. By the way, my wife's new HP notebook boots directly to the desktop. It's our only Win 8 machine and I have not yet installed the Object Desktop 8 tools so I wonder how HP is accomplishing that.
I don't see a problem with the current USB cable design. I almost always get it facing the correct way the second time I try. [e digicons][/e]
Looks very nice!
It took three tries but I finally uploaded the log file you requested. I hope it helps you sort things out (no pun intended).
I have 14 Fences on my desktop . Two will not sort
I can't say I understand why there are tiles on the right side of the start menu. I imagine Modern Mix does a better job.
Do you have a link to any articles about windows new direction?
I am playing with Tiles for the first time in a while. Is there a way to add my taskbar toolbars to a page of the tiles? I curently have two toolbars on my taskbar. One is a folder containing shortcuts to my most frequent drive locations and the other, a folder containing favorite apps in various subfolders.
The 39" monitor died under warranty so I returned it for store creedit. It was fine for much of what I use but too blurry due to low pixel density for musch reading. I am now pricing some ultrawide and ultra hd (2560x1440), for possible purchase. If price was no object I'd stick to the 16:9 ration rather than an ultra wide but it is so I may fall back to just ultra wide.
It was in tghe start menu starup folder. Thanks!
I've decided to run Fences as an alternative to OD+. However, even though I have unchecked "Load at Startup", it continues to do so. The only solution was an uninstall. After reinstalling (I don't want to permanently remove OD+) however, the problem returned. Here are my setting and the msconfig screens: <
Where can I find docklet version numbers?
Found it. It's the clock dock. How can I fic that?
No, I am not using any special docks, other than the calendar amd stacks but I don't imagine they consume any CPU when not engaged. I'll try removing them as a test.
