Hmmm, I have EaseUS but don't see the option to select a file rather than a backup set. My problem is I may not know which set contains the lost file. I'd like it to search the catalogs and show me which set(s) contain the file. Does it have that feature?

Ok, thank you for enlightening me regarding the "middle" mouse button. However, I don't have the misc. animations menu choice. Is it Windows 7 only?
Middle mouse button??? I haven't seen a 3 button mouse in years, why did you choose that trigger?
I use Vista Ultimate's built-in backup software and it has helped a couple of times. recently though, I realized I had lost a file but had no idea when. Unfortunately, the Vista backup software will not search its catalogs for a particular file. The only way to find it is to try to restore from each backup set until you accidentally find the one the file is in. Anyone using a backup program that will locate a file for you by searching all its backup sets? <p
I like WindowsFX ability to make background windows either dim or transparent EXCEPT it also affects my Desktop image, at least when I'm running Deskscapes. Can you make an option to NOT affect the desktop background?
I did as the tech email suggested, running SFC and and posted a screenshot and log file. Unfortunately, it still crashes.
Thank you. I'm in EST as well. [e digicons][/e]
Here's the later of the two: ZEA-953-17450 When I didn't get a response to the first, I solved it by reinstalling Windows.
Twice recently I have submitted tickets after forum posts didn't produce fixes for me. Both times I was asked to run a program that gathers info on my system and email the results back to support. Also both times, the only other communication I received was an email saying if I didn't respond within 48 hours the ticket would be closed. Disregarding the fact I was the last to respond to the ticket, the first was closed. I've managed to keep the second one op
Still crashing after the uninstall & reinstall. Guess it's time to open a support ticket.
@Wizard, deleting that folder seems to have helped some. I can now select a dream or a few and they display properly before the program crashes. I'll unistall and reinstall next and update this post.
I'm at the latest version of the video driver as well, AMD Catalyst 11.12, updated yesterday. There appears to be no way to uninstall DirectX nor install on top of itself if it's the same version. No repair install is possible. [e digicons]X([/e] Last Friday I did an in-place reinstall of Windows Vista 64 bit. some things came out worse for the task. It may be longer than a few days since it last worked, maybe last week sometime. I know
@Muckyman, I didn't realize it needs to connect to the internet just to set the configuration. I'll try adding it to the AV safe list. @Neil, I hadn't added any folders but I just tried reducing the list to the only one that actually has .dream files. Ok, made both changes and it still freezes while never showing the preview. I know it depends on DirectX. I downloaded the latest version and the install said it&#
ObjectDock will allow you to use .png files. Convert the .jpgs to .pngs and you should be ok. If you have the paid vesrion of OD you can display your images in a fan-like manner similar to the OD weather docklet.
**UPDATE** 2/16: I can't say for sure if this is what fixed thing but I was playing with tweaking my video driver settings. Then I started the Deskscapes configuration program and selected dreams that had been crashing it. They previewed properly. I restored my driver to its default settings and it still worked. I'm thinking changing the settings caused something to reset in the driver so that even when I set it back the reset option remained reset.
I've tried to put electronic downloads into a stocking but it always leaks out of the holes.
Tonight the hard drive light finally stopped blinking. I guess Windows is finished doing whatever it was doing. Still no user account creation but that's a task for this week.
I thought this looked like XMBC. anyone get the weather to work? I added 3 cities and every one says "invalid license key" when I select it in the app.
I love WindowBlinds. It's the main reason I bought Object Desktop i the first place. I particularly enjoy the blinds that change the min/max/close buttons, as long as they stay on the righthand side.
The good news: (1) MS sent me the dvd free of charge in two days so I was able to do the inplace upgrade yesterday. (2) The scripting problem is fixed. I can now run any weather widget or gadget and not be stuck looking at RND's local weather. [e digicons]B)[/e] (3) Drive meters are working again. I can run DX with all its current features! Not s good news: (1) UAC remains stuck in the "on" position in spite of the option b
In parts of NYC they have banned talking on cell phones while WALKING. The nanny state run amok.
This has zero, zilch, nada to do with safety. Think about it. There are 10's of millions of cell phones on the road that weren't there in the 1980's. And yet, death and injury statistics remain flat, taking into account the number of additional cars on the road in general. We should be seeing an exponential increase in such accidents and yet we don't. The truth is, the same guy who plowed into your backside while on the phone would have done the s
I have a Vista Ultimate w/SP2 dvd on its way from Microsoft so I can do a non-destructive reinstall. I'm hoping it solves my script problem as well as a UAC/user account problem I discovered in my research on the script issue. I'll wait until the reinstall before trying any other fixes and then I'll post here again.
Will we be able to recolor the blue main section?
Thanks sViz. I was able to register the dll, just using a somewhat different command than the link suggested. I'll add a new thread tomorrow. I did manage to fix something tonight. When I had looked back to system restore points I had noticed iTunes had updated itself on the last night the widgets worked. Last week I uninstalled it thinking it may have changed something that caused the problem. All of a sudden RealPlayer was crashing everywhere, downl
