When the gf is home, I'm forced to hook up our POS router, and am unable to play any sort of online game. Thus I resort to playing single player DG. I'm currently working on winning all the tournys on nightmare mode, and while it's frustrating and rather dumb at times, it keeps me occupied. However, while I can deal with the Easy Difficulty AI that is put on your team when you're facing the Nightmare AI, it's sometimes just ridiculous.
So, the term 'Nightmare' seems jus

I know you hate RTS so I mention this game just to throw it out there. Anno 1404: Dawn of Discovery. Excellent game with great graphics. It is RTS but you can control the speed at which the game moves. I would describe the pace of the game as 'leisurely'. Things you probably won't like about it are: $50 right now on Impulse; it has TAGES, which is a downer for some people.
Backdooring : Attacking grunt or structures in an area of the enemies base without taking out defensive structures first. (eg. taking portal flag on Cataract before taking the two towers down first)
In an organized tournament you could make this rule if you wanted to (although it's a lame one). In custom games, even amogst experienced players, it's 'do whatever it takes to win'. There's no etiquette here. Running past the two towers to take the portal flag is a good tac
Have you played any of the earlier Anno games? If so, how would you compare? I really enjoyed 1701 and I'm considering picking this one up.
No, I have not played any of the other Anno games, although I wish I had picked them up a long time ago. From other comments I've read though, this game is their best yet. They have a demo you could try that let's you play the full game for 1 hour at a time.

Doesnt look like this will happen on this game. Also, because its such a long game, is the learning curve a steep or a shollow one?
I'd say the learning curve is fairly shallow meaning it's easy to learn. Mostly because things happen at a slower pace than regular RTS games. You have time to figure out ho

Depends on map size and how many AI players you put into a match. It could go from 1 hour to 30 or more hours. Assuming you're talking about singleplayer and not multi. Multiplayer games I've heard take roughly 1 to 3 hours.
Well, since Demigod can't manage to play a full round of one single game either single player or multiplayer and crashes a computer that only Demigod crashes DotA definately wins. Um, actually solitaire wins against Demigod because it doesn't shut my computer down and it can finish a game. I'm really upset with Demigod, so disappointed, looked great worked at first I think maybe one of their updates actually screwed it up

In the case of Dawn of Discovery I can confirm here that the TAGES software will NOT interfere with anything else you've got running on your computer. It doesn't interfere with the game or cause crashing of any kind. The game is incredibly beautiful and fun to play with great depth, excellent voice acting, good campaign and perfect UI. It is worth evey penny of the $50 that it is going for at the moment. Some very nice screenshots are in this thread: <a href="http://www.a

The reason I ask is that I would like a solid concrete, specific definition of a premade please... yours is the only definition I have at the moment. I'll search the forums for "premade" soon to see if there are any others..
Here's a good place to start: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/359692
So, following your logic, you think the following situation is justified: Someone hosts a 5v5 game, two noobs who just bought the game and want to try out this new demigod thingy join it. They occupy two spots on the forces of darkness. The whole forces of light side starts crying premade solely because of those two noobs. Is this true?
I'm not 'justifying' anything. I simpl

I hate to say it but based off of this comment:
Yes I've played with warbirdd before, but only because we have a decent ping to him
it seems like Warbirdd is partially to blame for the whole 'premade' fiasco in this game. Warbirdd's played with these guys before so he knew going in that his own team was at least partially or fully (depending on how you want to look at it) a premade. And yet he titled the match with N

In World of Warcraft 'premades' were groups of people who joined together BEFORE a battleground queue started. They would then enter the battleground as a 'team'. Didn't matter if they were on voice or not but many times they were. In Demigod a premade has come to mean when 2 or more individuals who know each other or have played a lot together join into the very same game, whether they are on voice or not. They have basically become a 'team'. And it was decided before the match
About premades, thats just a crock of shit in my opinion. The term premade should not exist in demigod as I know it. I do NOT find it valid IN MY CASE at all.
But.....but.....you ARE a premade.
