Yeah I agree, as long as they are on massive cooldowns so that you really need to pick and choose when to use them. I think it would be nice to have 2 per DG that are tied into the tree pre-requisites as well, obviously a little more work but let's face it there are only 8 DG's, and these are only spell effects :P
Sheezwack
They seem to be ignoring bugs at the moment, even acknowledging them which is pretty dissapointing.
I still find that bite is just a bad design in gameplay. Taking health and giving it to erebus seems reaonsable since he is a vampire. OK fine but he also reduces the victims movement speed A TON and reduces the armor. He can pretty much negate another demigod by just using bite to stun to bats to bite which pretty much kills any demigod.
I am a little surprised about the speed reduction TBH, it would still be a good
Looking forward to being able to play multiplayer! We had so much trouble getting a custom game going last night that 6 of us jumped on hamachi instead.... pretty sad :P
Actually I play Sedna and Oak most of the time, i find them tougher than Erebus but he is still pretty good :) I just hate people yelling nerf when there clearly is no real balance testing going on. People that make serious suggestions often spend hours analyzing the characters in equal conditions, rather than just blurting out nerfs because they can't figure out how to counter something.
I know that... but compared to supcom there should be a lot less going on. It seems like there is probably a bunch of unneccessary stuff left over from supcom going on. (They are using the same engine after all)
Well people are comparing it directly to abilities like fireball, which works on buildings. So if you really want to balance everything then you can't just nerf it, you need to make it useable on buildings too. Anyhow that was my point, bite shouldn't be nerfed as much as some people say just because of other DG's abilites. Also buildings play a huge part in the game, most games are conquest. People keep forgetting about the objective in the game and t
I hope the devs don't take too much notice of these types of threads.... DG's don't even start off with the same health, mana and armor, so you can't compare abilities directly. I don't find Erebus overpowered but I do find him 'useful' and able to assist the team out well.
If you are going to nerf bite, it needs to be useable on bulidings like many abilities of other players.... although personally I would rather most abilities (punce, spit etc) NOT allowed to be used on buildngs.
I don't know anyone that pirated that tried to play online either....people that know what they are doing normally block that sort of thing.
Can you PLEASE do a post on known issues, so we at least know they have been acknowledged, including at least: - The movement bug - The unresponsive AI - Stupid AI on pets - Stupid demigod AI, particularly the ones on your site in single player (I've had regalus stay in the base the entire game) - Pathing issues and minions getting stuck - Subpar performance (the simspeed SHOULD run better than it does)
A little rich hearing a pirate talk about buying the game after network issues are improved, as in network issues that were partially caused by pirating. I say partially because there was obviously a design flaw at works, but still.
This comment is absurd, the multiplayer issues have nothing to do with pirates - the system is just plain bog. What would you be saying if no one pirated the game? Because
For example, if I had to do it over again, I would be inclined to require a valid user account to play LAN even if it only has to be validated one time This sort of thing gets cracked anyway, and it'probably would have been a waste of your resources - and probably would have caused more problems considering you haven't yet sorted multiplayer out. I can understand why people pirate games, the fact is there are
Quoting Sheezwack, reply 5They could always change it to a favor item... then you would really have to decide if you want it over the other things LOL. It would see MORE use then
Probably not by experienced players, since you don't need the item later in the game, wheras other favor items are still useful.
They could always change it to a favor item... then you would really have to decide if you want it over the other things
One other thing to consider is that for the most part this is not a Demigod vs Demigod game, so for abilities like Bite you need to take into account that you can't use it on buildings - wherase abilites like pounce you can. There is much more to balance than 1v1 demigod fights. This is why balance is such a tricky thing
They really need separate sub forums for each DG probably
I am curious to know how you would change Bite if you can only change the move once?
Honestly I don't think anyone can suggest real balance changes until the bugs are fixed, the movement and responsive bugs could be affecting certain demgiods more then others and certain abilities - so right now I think it is too early to tell. I don't see anything that is incredibly unbalanced that ruins the game, so I a
You can't just compare abilities like that between classes, that is not how you balance things. Abilities should not be balanced against other abilities directly. For one Erebus starts off with 1650 Health, 780 Mana, 220 Armor, wheras UB starts off with 1550 Health, 1092 mana and 475 armor. Apples and oranges. This is why you need to make small adjustments one at a time, changing too much at once will simply make an overpowered character underpowered. <
"Bite - Cooldown needs to be increased to at least 12 seconds, up the mana cost for balance, to at least 500, 700, 900, 1200 per rank." Stuff like this is REALLY bad balancing. You should tweak little bits and one thing at a time. This is why alot of games fail in balancing because the changes they make are too significant. If you think it is too powerful, add 1 second to the cooldown, that is how you balance a game that is already well balanced, not
I always max out Bat swarm, bite and stun, and put 1 in mist (which removes any negative effects). Stun is nothing about damage, it is utility and makes a world of difference, combined with bat swarm which increases in range as you level it up - this allows you to save team mates and easily escape dangerous situations. Smart players will also use this to interrupt enemies abilities and teleporting. Personally i think playing Erebes as an assissin is strong
Pet's are pretty useless compared to his normal abilities - there is next to no advantage for being pet specced, espeically as you approach level 20. You could use your pets to scout out flags etc if you really want, but you could just use idols for that.
We use mumble for voice chat, it's pretty cool
Is there a post with known bugs in it? I might have missed it. Thanks for the reply!
I really wish they would throw a Known Issues post up - it would help people who are posting repeated things over and over, and let us know they know about them.
