If people are going to make a moral argument, they'd better be fucking prepared to deal with a counterargument that their morality is flawed.
Your counter argument is "there is no morality." That's not a counter. If you think that ragequitting is somehow ok then you'd "better be fucking prepared" to say why. Ironically you instead tried to take the moral high ground.
He's just spouting that morality is common sense.
That'
lol. sorry but ive gone afk in game a couple times, stuff happens irl cant help it. reason why I dont quit is because I hope I can get back in time so we can still win. I figure afk 4minutes and coming back is better than having an AI which just ruins the game imo.
But you SAID SOMETHING before you did it, right? (The non-ass way of doing things? Communication?)
I'm wondering why I stuck around this long in this thread when I learned everything I needed to know about it after reading someone insist that there is an intrinsic difference between "noob" and "newb".
There is. I mean, it's even in wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newb " Newbie is a slang term for a newcomer to an <a title="Internet" href="http://forums.demigodthegame.com/wiki/Intern
People always quit, its just a reason to pick up their slack and shine, instead of crying over spilt milk obviously.
If you've played much of the game then you know that this is NOT how it works.
lol, I agree, but again, 0 or -1 sim speed is not anywhere as bad as you are describing it, the game normally runs at 0 my friend.
What are you talking about, the game becomes a slideshow. It's that bad.
So you guys are gonna discriminate against people who can't afford better hardware?... sounds like a great idea.
It's for the good of everyone. People who can't run the game well drag everyone down due to the way the game was designed. (A flaw imo, but what can you do) You'd discriminate against something popping a 2000 ping all the time because they'd lag you. Low sim speed people do the exact same thing.
If he's holding the "gold flag" all game then the other team is holding the other 2 flags all game. Goodbye war score. Or he's not leveling.
so now you're complaining about people with slow computers. What next? ragewinners?
Have you ever had to suffer through a low sim speed game? It's pure agony. I'd put the current suffering ratings at: gg <<< Newb on your team <<<<<< Noob on your team <<<<< Ragequitter < Server split < Griefer <<< Low sim speed <<< Afker <<<<<<<<< Desy
Every online game I played is listed, every result is true, every game has the correct participants inside (even the weird games where I played against a minority).
Here's a good example of the great record keeping: http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/479674/player/34211/ Here's a particular favorite of mine because I specifically remember winning this game: http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/471087/player/34211/ Another game I d
Meaningless. People can simuljoin and hope to get matched with buddies, and quit before the game starts if they don't get matched with the people they want. Not to mention win/loss stats themselves are FUBAR. Since you can't trust them, you can't trust pantheon stats either.
That's fine. Just not gg, because it certainly was not.
but keep in mind if someone on the losing team rage-quitted halfway through the match it was probably because they were losing, meaning you'd probably have lost anyway (didn't you argue it was very hard to turn games around), so gg.
It's possible. I have a screenshot of a victory with an 0-9 rage quit AI feeder Rook on my side with the other team completely outleveled, outdamage, outbuilding/fla
you must be horrible at this game to want to play with shitty players
Was this supposed to be an insult? I can't tell.
No, he didn't, because he wasn't trying to use that word. "Spelt" is the past tense of "spell" and an alternate way to say "spelled." It's a real word. Before you correct the spelling of others you should expand your own vocabulary.
While in this case it was coincidentally true, praising si1foo's spelling is an exercise for the insane.
I like Prison and hate Cataract but to everyone else it's the other way around. I do admit Prison is massively flawed in that it's all about movespeed and there's no fleeing to the towers. Same with Exile though, which I actually do hate. (Healing crystals in the middle = wtf) Crucible is cool if you have lots of players, which seems contrary to its existence. I've decided I like Leviathan despite the far side lanes being utterly useless.
While Sedna sucks against minions in general, she's actually quite useful against the exploit. Counter-healing making their priests unable to heal is quite nice.
Assuming you have gotten it at that point. Sometimes you want movespeed instead.
GG-> Quit before *any* damage is done to their base! For that matter, have you seen any decent chess played? Rarely does it actually go to the true "check-mate". Usually, one player conceedes when the loss is obvious.
There is a crucial difference here and I'm surprised you don't see it - these games are ONE ON ONE. Team games are a completely different concept. You do not quit unless the TEAM decides they are done. If the t
quite an old topic -> kill the minions
You are Sedna. (Or Oak, or UB) Now what?
And what qualifies them to be absolute?
Common sense.
The reason UB is so powerful late game is that he has the most scaling abilities. Seriously, nearly everything he has increases something by a PERCENT, and that's important. Increased attack and move speed percents, a debuff that reduces movespeed by a percent, Ooze does serious % debuffs too for a FIXED cost. He has a self buff that increases his physical attack by a percent (what other hero has this? None of them, Oak and Rook for example get static attack boosts).
RL > computer games. Face it.
Then quit. Seriously. At least the AI will cap flags or bait them into chasing their shiny gold filled corpse. I've won with AIs. I don't think I could ever win with an afker.
ur bad at this game if you cannot win down 1 man
To quote others - "this isn't Dota." In Demigod it is very difficult to get to a point where 1 hero can beat 2 or more at a time. In an unfair fight
Blah blah blah, there are no absolutes! Yes there are. In this case, it's wrong to bail on your team. You might have a reason for it. Ok, but it's still WRONG to do so without getting the consent of the others you're damaging by your actions.
I see everything as morally neutral.
How nice for you. Doing whatever you want with no regard for others because morality doesn't exist. I guess it makes living easy.
2. Why not?
So you intentionally inflict suffering upon others. And you're arguing it's moral? Thumbs up.
In single player you are simply running the game. Online you are running the game and also doing all the connectivity work (sync and data transfer) as well. Obviously that's more processor intensive.
