I just played a game with Dalzk. We pwn a pro team. He's good. (btw, Ke5trel is the best anti-ganking Oak I've seen.)
OMG_Epiphenomenon
Because some people think if you get the extra creeps one at a time, you are giving your opponent extra experience. So some people like to wait till war rank 8 and buy all the way up to catapults. Its dependant on the game I suppose.
Honestly, you should only get priests early only if you are stomping the other team. A standard creep wave (5 minotaurs + 2 archers) gives 231 XP. Adding in priests brings the XP per creep wave to 291. This is a 26% gain in expe
They have a lead in war score early game, but when you can wipe out their entire team effortlessly I can guarantee you they will not get past war score 7.
I've never seen this work on Leviathan. If you let the other team have a portal for half of the game, it takes a very long time to make that up in war score, especially since cap locks start coming out in full force during the endgame. It's not just the fact that the other team has one more portal flag capture
I have been using this tactic on zikurat and leviathan since release, let the enemy cap the central portals, dual farm 2 lanes, and you end up being level 10 when everyone else is only level 7ish...
This ends up losing because the other team gets giants first. War rank is far more important than leveling up. That thing about Post-Mortem makes me sad. I guess I'll be removing it from my UB build now.
Thanks, gunblob! Karma given.
I've been searching for about an hour, and I cannot find the values for how much xp you need for each level. Anyone know where this is? Any helpful answer will result in thanks and karma. :)
You haven't seen any Blades of the Serpent?
I was stuck at 32,000. Now I'm in the top 1000. :P w00t! Experience was broken for me to begin with.
If you wanted, you could wait to implement this strategy until level 4 or so. This would make it easier to take down towers. By ignoring the Mana flag lane, it should be easier to hold the xp and hp flags. Team B has 3 lanes to focus on, while Team A only has two.
The teleport amulet is good. :) It can suck, though, if your team doesn't know how to hold flags or preserve towers. If I were to counter your build, I would invest in trebuchets and catapults as soon as possible. Tower Rooks have a very hard time against these two. Circle of Fire and Fire Nova will decimate a tower farm quickly, thus justifying the existence of a full-fire TB. Mines can do some damage, but the AoE isn't large enough if the Rook knows how to spread out
Let's say that team A has a Rook, an Unclean Beast, and a Sedna. Rook can sometimes solo 2 Demigods with towers. I don't see how any 2 Demigods could handle these 3 during the early game. These three ought to be able to take down a tower by level 2-3 and start pushing elsewhere immediately (also, they probably could switch sides and do the exact same thing on the other side). Besides, your solution involves picking Demigods. You can't pick Demigods after the game starts, and you won't know if
I was thinking the other day about a strategy for a premade, and I'm finding it hard to counter this idea. Let's say that the map is cataract. Let's define the teams as team A and team B. One person on team A chooses Heaven's Wrath, his teammates choose normal items. All DGs on team A go for one lane. The guy on team A with Heaven's Wrath farms the other lane using his favor item. It takes about 33 seconds for the creeps to spawn and reach the flag, and Heaven's Wrath has a cooldown of about
Getting priests early is still bad. Don't do it, especially if the other team has Heaven's wrath. Priests are snacks when someone has Heaven's Wrath.
Can someone do the math on the auto attack damage in say and instance were hammer slam would be used after boulder throw?'
Boulder Roll stuns for 2 seconds. At level 10, Rook's attack time is 1.4 seconds. Not even enough time for 2 hits. If you get your opponent used to being Roll/Slam'ed, try switching to Slam/Roll. Most opponents that know of the combo are looking for you to lead with Boulder Roll. If you lead with slam, you will often be able t
Each tick is actually two seconds. It gives +2 gold/sec. Yeah, it should always be bought as soon as war rank 3 hits. Sack your gear if you have to.
If a fight is taking place at a flag, a teleporting rook that knows how to Roll/Slam can cause +2100 practically instantaneous damage. In order for this to work well, you need a teleport amulet and some points in towers. As someone who has played Rook on-and-off since Day 1, I can confidently say that it's a legitly awesome combo. You will lose with it, though, for a LONG time until you master it. It takes quite a bit of practice. I lost for about 2 weeks straight until I got decent enough to
I feel that it is a bit dubious to save 3 levels worth of points. Usually, by level 14, the game is already decided (if not over). You won't get to level 15 in general as rook (although, if you do, your slows will be epic). You could easily throw a point or two into towers without sacrificing too much. I tend to think that a Hybrid Rook is the best. Also, this build seriously sacrifices ganking potential. Here's a replay: http://www.gamereplays.org/demigod/replays.php?game=51&tab=
Do you have that game as a replay? I'm still interested in your build. :)
I'm a modding n00b. What is an LUA, and how does it make modding easier?
Erm, Ooze with Post-Mortem and Nature's Reckoning will own an Erebus minion build. In nearly every game I play it's my job as UB to clear out the minions. It's important to get some armor to handle the auto-attack damage from the minions. I ALWAYS take post-mortem at level 6 with all of the minion builds running around. Post-Mortem is the key factor to defeating minion builds. If Post-Mortem stacked with plague, I'd take plague too. UB is a counter to Erebus' minion builds, not the other way
This is in the wrong category, TB_MasteR. Rook can easily pwn UB at level 10. Rank 4 Hammer Slam does 1700 damage with a 2 second cast. Add in Rank 2 Boulder Roll and he'll be stunned for the entire 2 seconds. Add in God Strength, some towers and shoulder upgrades, and there is no problem. Sedna can use heal to remove spit and priests for health regen.
No it doesn't. Good golly, that would be imba as hell.
Wip, would you mind doing a replay for us once replays come out? I'm really interested in your strat.
Btw, Blood of the Fallen needs a slight nerf. Seven-hundred or 600 HP would work.
yes they should. full fire tb loses.
Not against tower rook.
