I will write a review on Steam just as soon as I can. It will be positive as I am really enjoying the game. In the meantime, here is a link to my somewhat inept Let's Play on the 'ol Youtubes: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLu_Uxi6l_RLNIogusjBVuJSD0Df_6qBtg It is 5 episodes long (and growing) but it c

[e digicons]:P[/e] So, I equipped the two level 18 swords. Fun! Combined with 20-25 level trained units, the SK was a breeze. [e digicons]:P[/e
I want Janusk v2!
Agreed! Janusk 2.0 plus a huge variety of city administrators including champion administrators would be nice. ^^

I was carelessly moving a pioneer around when it got attacked by an army of skeletons. So, I put it on auto battle to end the inevitable. To my surprise, I won the fight and my pioneer lived. Feeling emboldened, I sent out single low level units and proceeded to clear out deserted graveyards and several armies of skeletons using auto battle without receiving as much as a scratch. So, I am not sure if this is a bug or if skeletons are just massively underpowered. :P</

Even with the fairly limited choices, the game is pretty fun now. :) Adding the minor races with a ton of variety will make this game awesome. ^^ This is very good to hear: Different minors can provide different types of support for you along with different units. Some are good at providing you with spells. others with recipes and others can do world effects (like lower the doomsday counter)

I think the pacing is about right. I am usually a builder in 4X games and turtle for a while before attempting to confront other civs but this game is a breath of fresh air in that it forces me to be more aggressive. It makes for some interesting guns or butter game play decisions. I need to develop my cities but I also need to be expanding and getting stronger militarily type of thing.

I definitely agree that a few wrecks or ruins dotting the landscape would be nice. Perhaps replacing some of the treasure chests with those kind of things. Some of the quests reference ruin and desolation by the Sorcerer King, of course. On the other hand, since he is called the Sorcerer King, he should be very adept at magic. So, perhaps he cast the spell of making and didn't tromp around destroying everything but simply turtled. [e digicons

I quite like pioneer spam to get outposts built up. Since roads get built, movement is greatly facilitated. I do assume that eventually monsters will be allowed to attack outposts and that strategy would need to change. Also, outposts don't use up any logistics which is a curious decision as you would logically think they would.

I just keep Sir Kael out of the battles because he gets beat up so bad. At least Bailey is contributing +7 to everyone's attack by enraging everyone. Lol. I put a ring of healing on Bailey figuring it would make her (him?. it?) into a Swiss rescue dog but it doesn't seem to work. :(
