I was talking about this with our sales exec yesterday and he was saying that this is more of an issue because of Microsoft's attempt last summer to allow MSN users to chat with AIM users. Larry pointed out that Trillian blocks ads from AIM (and MSN would have too). In my opinion, the IM developers should allow all IM users to chat with each other, and worry about making a better product than their competitors rather than denying users a service. I donated to Trillian twice,

Trillian won't be able to go to court. It's made by two programmers and it's freeware. They ask for donations, but only about 1/1000 users ever donate anything. Trillian does not SPAM, AOL was just using it as an excuse to block out Trillian. It does block all those stupid adds that AOL puts in its messenger. (One of the reasons that AOL is pissed.) Here's the link to the zdnet article...yesterday the forum was down for overhaul and I wasn't able to see the discussion.<br

I don't know about the rest of you, but one of the items of interest for me this weekend has been the skirmishes between Trillian and AOL. AOL has blocked Trillian users at least twice this weekend, and Trillian released patches overcoming this problem. AOL claims that Trillian is hacking their system and that they are trying to protect AIM and AOL im users from spam. Yeah, right. Comments anyone?

Brad has been having all sorts of crazy trouble with his machine. It's pretty much straightened out now, but he's got a few more things to get up and running. On the plus side, you'll end up with a few more things than you originally would have gotten. The planet list and ship lists have been implemented (although the ship list is currently just displaying the ship name and no other information) and the event list now has wrapped text. You'll be happy to know that the scrollbars fo

Jack: No, it's not supposed to let you conquer a planet that is defended...and if they didn't show up when you made them leave orbit, maybe they were ships that were already destroyed. As for the ship that you were trying to attack, yes it could have been one or all of the ships that you made leave orbit (maybe they all went to the same spot). Could you right click on the ship and make it move? Was it moving? Eventually, ships that were made by alien races that you gain contro

Well, the place that it's crashing is where it's trying to make a list of all the improvements that are now available upon the reasearch completing. So, basically, when it gets beyond 500 characters (including newline characters), it crashes because it goes out of bounds of the string. It's not supposed to have 13+ techs; the person who entered it that way evidently got bored or something. Eventually, someone is going to have to go through and put accurate descriptions of the techs and accura

The first one is a feature of the auto turn ships waiting until the turn button is pressed to make moves after their first initial move. Brad says that he knows how to fix the second bug, but I don't know if he's had the time to do it yet. The third should be fixed in the last alpha build, except maybe for when 2 ships arrive at their star destinations at the same time. As for the fourth, I guess that I'm going to have to find out if the ship is still selected after it
