Neowin: reaction is stellar actually. Same with Notebook Forum and WinMatrix. Update on Angry-fly's AlienGUIse download count: Russ put up the files on Friday 11:44pm EST. Since that time (as of 6am EST this morning) the Suite has received: Successful requests: 18,755 Failed requests: 585 Data transferred: 42.030 gigabytes That's just the downloads coming from Russ's mirrors. I know its being distributed on P2P networks and off of people's personal se
Here's a nice bit of info from Russ as he's monitoring the downloads. Keep in mind his mirror went up in the middle of the day: "As of 7:00 PM EST My site has had 10,337 successful downloads of the file. And it seems to be climbing!!" Now that's what we like to see! He's getting some of the runoff from WC but also Customize, Neowin, WinMatrix and Notebook Forum.
ok well that's a but bizarre. Don't know where all those stats came from as i just pasted in the bottom 3 sentences. Let's try it again as it won't let me edit my comments. ALTERNATE DOWNLOAD LINK: http://www.angry-fly.com/alienware/AlienGUIse_Theme_Manager.zip This is a very fast mirror. Please let us know here what you think of the skins -) This mirror was graciously donated by Russ (EMF WarCry) of Angry-Fly. Thanks again Russ.
we'll see about the add-ons. Once this all settles in nicely, maybe i'll talk to alienware about letting some users show me their versions of bootskins etc. and maybe if they're good i could talk Alienware into letting them be released. Let's just make sure everyone gets the suite first and worry about the rest later on.
Alienware has some lower cost PC solutions that still pack a punch. You should check them out. Nice stuff. Carol: thanks for the really kind words. People: this will get fixed you just need to be patient.
yeah they must still be having problems.
EMF: that's really nice of you. I think they're going to be able to handle it. Attila: It's released as a set and not as individual downloads.
Alienware's server is getting hammered. They are aware of this and are working on a fix. Patience is appreciated.
And to reiterate who did the work on these skins - WMP, Icons and WB? The best artists in the world!
I'm Jeff who owns The Skins Factory and i go by the nickname Jesh for certain online functions like IM chat etc.
Nakor: okay now i'm jealous.
hehe. i guess you aren't getting coal for X-Mas Kris
You'll have to email stardock for tech support.
shouldn't be
Give Alienware some time to work out the server issues. This is a very large download that wasn't originally intended to be released in this way. It was originally intended to be pre-installed on their desktops only. The guys/gals there are extremely cool to be releasing this for free to everyone else. I think they deserve a little patience while they rectify some of the "kinks". So be patient and enjoy. It was a long creation process and my guys, Alienware and Stardock deserve a lot of props fo
Icons and Windows theme was created by our in-house staff.
i know thank god haha. Now DWatson will leave us in peace
thanks
Okay so i guess somebody send me an "invite" for GMail so i can see for myself. Anyway in honor of DWatson's relentless nagging for the suite (we love you man) here is the link to download both suites in one and some screenshots. This will officially go live here tomorrow but you can download it first here: Download the Alienware Skin Suite: http://www.alienware.com/standalone_pages/alienguise.aspx <img
also people should know what they are using even if some of you are using it for non-important email. Others will rely on it as a primary source for their email account. People need to know what they are getting themselves into and not be a bunch of blind sheep.
