Funny, I seem to get the Zoo every game. Last game my Survey ship walked into 3 of the little blitters and TOOK THEM OUT! :CONGRAT: I couldn't beleive my eyes, even my warships weren't that powerful. One interesting thing I did find in that game, was that I lead the monsters to another players star base. The monsters just sat there, next to the star base and my small bait fleet on the other side of the star base. Then the UP met and it was voted that attacking starbases was NOT illigl

Casper, I may be wrong, but I think the chip will be some version from CMedia. If you have the option available, check with Windows Update and see if there is an updated CMedia driver. 9x out of 10 I have found this to fix my problems, with other games etc.

I think the decision to delay GalCiv is a very good one. Although I don't have to worry about finding money to buy games, having been playing GalCiv everyday for several weeks now, I have to say that I will be switching to MoO3 as soon as I get it, if for no other reason than to play something new. The gap between the games will give me the chance to hammer MoO3 for several weeks and then come back to the Released GalCiv. And then all I have to do is find a way to balance my time between both ga

Here's hoping. I may be way off the mark, but I would expect that it would not be all that difficult to implement such a Listing, as the basic functionality already exists in the Colony Listing, all that really needs changing is the underlying data source or filter/query.

I always vote for the others to have the Zoo. Now I definitely know its also best to send your ship in the opposite direction. Although, I just found it very handy to find 1 of the beasties and 'lead' it to space stations that belong to other players, as well as their fleets. Beasties don't care who owns them - although they don't seem to attack the Minor Races stuff :(

Just went to confront one of said beasties with the pride of my Navy - 3 Overlords, 2 Avatar Battleships, Original Survey ship and a maxed out Terror Star. Thus our Attack rating was almost as good as the Monsters, and our Defence rating was about 10x better. Four melee rounds later - No Overlords or Terror Star :sniff!: Damned thing walked through the Overlords, bypassed the lesser ships and took out the Terror Star. Time to retreat!

Ok, First issue: The stars are showing colour respective of their ownership. But because the map SO big, and the display is so small, I can not tell the difference between the colours. Only that a star is not White. I can of cause zoom in, but I then lose the Range grid boundary that I find oh so important. Also, in this particular game, Sol was right on the edge of the map, top left corner sector. When zooming in, the stap map never went down to any sector even close to Sol, and so I h

I am enjoying GalCiv but will also be getting MoO3 as well. I still play MoO1. The wife is getting peeved now with only GalCiv - wait is that the sound of divorce papers :D

A gameplay sequence that is beomming more and more annoying the more I play GalCiv, is when the game does not wait for the player to finish their manual play stuff before taking over again to do automated stuff. As an example: very late in a recent game, the Dark Lords take over a Colony very close to one of mine. Having been given warning as to where they were going to take over, I have moved several Overlords next to the colony, and have multiple Combat Transports at a colony right next door -

I have noticed in this version that several colonised stars, mainly Minor Races, display a Skull and Crossbones part way through a game. One of my Stars has also started displaying this symbol as well. What does it mean, and do I need to deal with it somehow?
