Eh? Vulkan can run on Win 7/8, DX12 can't (won't). If you mean crossfire/SLI, then, maybe.
Currently the game doesn't actually have Crossfire/SLI support outside of DX12, which is only for Windows 10 users. What I want to know is if Vulkan is allowing us to run mGPU the same way as the DX12 version does.

Update 2.4: How to F#@
Hooray! I presume Vulkan will let us Windows 7 folks use two cards?
I suspect Genesis went nuts because it was an extremely intelligent creature being held back by a simple being in comparison. Samuel gave him enough intellectual power that he easily outperformed his creator, and was almost an equal for Mac, the Neoph, Haalee (The most intelligent being in the universe so far) and a child of Haalee combined. As a result, I doubt it felt justified serving anyone but itself. As for teleporting forces
So, for some reason, the original thread discussing the third race is closed (Too old, perhaps), and now having finished the Genesis Campaign, I'm super curious as to what it could be. Now, we already have a little bit of information about them, which is as follows: Quote from Frogboy: "The PHC and the Substrate are both from Earth. The third race does not come from Earth." With that, we can infer one of t
Given that the code for "vision" already exists, how much harder would it be to add sight range based on a scale of radar range for an upgrade? If that's confusing, what I mean is linking them: Radar (No quanta upgrades, level two building) range: 1 Sight range: 0.6 Radar (No quanta upgrades, level one building) range: 1 Sight range: 0 (Or whatever the default range is) Radar (One quanta upgrade, level two building) range: 1.1 Sight range: 0.66 R
Embarassingly, I just fired up Genesis last night, hoping to quickly beat the first mission before bed. I definitely failed at that task, and couldn't maintain map control... ...On normal. [e digicons][/e]
Upgrading the Radar building seems a little unnecessary when you can upgrade Radar range via Quantum upgrades, which will be reduced in price to 75 Quanta in 2.4
I think the difference is with buildings and units that can't fire at radar contacts (Which is a lot of them), having some kind of upgrade to allow more utility out of radar towers is handy. Not to constantly bring up Supreme Commander, but the
Yes, I agree fully here. Depending on how hard it is to change the radar and gameplay systems, I'd even accept: Upgrade: Provides sight range equal to radar range. (Should be quite expensive, given how much utility this would give it) Because you're both right, at the moment, the radar tower is incredibly niche in usage - unless you have units or towers that can fire at radar blob, there's no point in using it. But if it could provide sight range, suddenly any u
Is Vulkan still in the running? I had thought it was going to be coming out this update, but it's not on the list. But now it's also not on the list of planned stuff. Really hoping it hasn't been dropped, as I've no intention of moving to Windows 10, but would like to use both my cards.
I've experimented with modifying height values for planes. I tripled the height of the Fury, and the Sky Cleanser seemed completely incapable of hitting it. This no doubt effects performance of anti-air weaponry.
So does the air height effectively work like a reduction to range (I'm imagining a dome for the range of the turrets)? If so, that could be an awesome tool to balance things. Mak

Sounds awesome! I mean, I'm a turtle player for the most part, but these are all changes the base game should be using. Especially the Substrate one.
Oh yeah, our modding and map making guide isn't too good at the moment and could certainly do with some love. Ultimately since our modding capabilities and tools (or lack thereof) is still very much a work in progress, we haven't yet been too focused on getting all the documentation up for it. It's something I can write up when I get a chance.
Oh, that'd be fantastic, yes please!
You can make new units pretty easily using existing models -snip
I tried looking through the forums, but is there an idiot's guide to this for people like me? I've seen the "modding guide", but it doesn't exactly go over how to assign weapons, or how to put them in the build menu, or stuff like that.
I am curious about this too. Changing stuff is neat and all, but my favourite mods are the ones that add stuff. Though I had read somewhere that someone was trying to make a spider-unit in the vein of the Monkeylord from Supreme Commander.
This is all wonderful news! Make sure that You have an opportunity to make money! I love the free content, as does everyone else, I'm sure. But you gotta keep the lights on! You don't forget about Vulkan! I'd love to make use of both my cards eventually. Keep up the great work!
The Leonidas is specifically a Dreadnaught Killer; it can solo multiple Dreadnaughts simultaneously and rip them apart very quickly. In particular, the Leonidas will beat the Queen quite convincingly. On the other hand, the Queen is better all round due to less concentrated damage and regeneration. The nest is also vulnerable to having the Frigates wiped by heavy AOE weapons like Hades, Strategic Bomber and Artillery. They
So, the Nest of the Queen is absolutely awesome, and feel like she warrants her excessive cost. I love the fact she heals herself, I like the method in which she attacks, I like her aesthetics, and she can go toe-to-toe with basically anything and expect to win. But Leonidas feels pretty lackluster in comparison. It can usually go toe-to-toe with an enemy, but where the Nest will absolutely walk all over the enemy and keep going, Leonidas will take heavy damage, los
You guys are awesome! Make sure to make some money for all this work though, eh?
Neat! Most excited for the co-op maps, might have to pick up a copy for the younger brother now. [e digicons]|-)[/e]
1) Awesome to see another fan of Total Annihilation here. Seems to get forgotten a lot in the face of Supreme Commander. 2) While it's a little disheartening to know Ashes won't be getting those awesome updates done in the next little bit, I understand. 3) Off-topic-ish, but very stoked for Crusade as well. Looks like a cool expansion.
This is splendid news. I am thrilled that Escalation was made the heir to Ashes' future. Now, bring on the big units, boats and Vulkan!
Question: Will we have a "New" and "Old" version of each map? I ask because Seton's Clutch is my favourite map of all time because of the singular choke point it creates. As such, seeing all of the choke points get eliminated is great for the competitive multiplayer guy, but a complete let down to me.
