Just wanted to chime in and thank you for your great support! Big thanks to Cari, Scott and Brad!

I had problems before but got excellent help from Cari, pointing me to a site where one could get updated modified drivers for ATI cards. The drivers from http://www.omegadrivers.net/ worked for my laptop och now I can run and play the beta. The only drawback is that the drivers are not supported by my laptop manufacturer and that I do not seem to be able to use the TV-out. But both of those are of no major concern to me. (YMMV) Posting my stats in
1) Ah, I would be very thankful for that. Wonder why Windows XP Swedish would be a problem. 2) That is rather difficult, I'm afraid. ATI informs that in the case of notebooks (I'm using a ASUS notebook) the drivers are only available through the notebook manufacturer. And the 11/13/2004 are the latest drivers ASUS offers for my notebook from their home page. So unfortunately these are the latest drivers available for me. <img src="http://images.sta
Still not having any success with the betas. After selecting an opponent (trying several different setups), the result is always the same. It says "Loading game..." or something similar and then crashes. Have tried the following to no avail: * Run in windowed mode. * Multisample = 0 in the prefs.ini file (but this was the setting from the beginning on my system) * Different resolutions Sending crash logs to Scott as usual.
I would really like RSS feeds as well. Or a NNTP access.
Hahaha! Retro!
I would very much like to have a research queue.
Tested the new 0.11b[b].002 beta and I am still having the same crashes. Sending the logs to Scott.
According to MS DirectX 9.0c site, the DirectX 9.0c end-user runtime was released on the 4th of August 2004. You have to have dated drivers in order to have an incompatibility problem, I think. ASUS provided new graphic drivers on the 15th of September 2004. Link
Unfortunately I do not have a NVIDIA graphics card but a laptop with an ATI graphics card. I have the latest drivers available for the laptop through ASUS homepage.
CariElf, no I am not changing my civilization name or homeworld name. At least not the last times I have tried to load the game (what I did the first time in the excitement over the GC2 beta, I don't quite recall . I have updated to 0.11[b].002 and the problem still remains. Sending new crash logs to Scott.
Yeah, did that. Still no success.
s", etc, etc. Any ideas?
Hi All, This did not go very well. Starting the game, choosing next, until I have chosen opponents and chosing next again. The game loads for a while and then crashes to desktop every time. Have chosen a few different options with the same result. SmartException does not catch anything. Ah, just what I want I don't really need the entire OD suite. Been a subscriber before (and even had the OS/2 version) but I'm not that interested in the other components. Would really like the option to buy this separately. Please?
Hi, Like everybody else here I'm really looking foward to Galciv2! However, even if this site is cool, it is a be too flashy for my taste and it takes a long time to load and read over here in Sweden (even though my connection is quite fast). Would it be possible to have RSS-feeds of all news, journals and forum posts? Then I could use FireFox or RSSOwl to find what I want with a bit more convenience. Best regards and looking forward to the
Cari, such a solution would indeed be excellent! I would even purchase a Pocket PC for the purpose. :-)
Something I would really, really like would be a strategy game, playable on mobile phones. I am not that into the shoot 'em ups or minigames available in the phones today, but I'd like a mini-version of galciv or something similar to be played over the phone. That would make my commuting time much more enjoyable. I know that phones are not PC hardware, but I refuse to think that it wouldn't be doable. I played Civilization I on my Amiga years ago and the phones of today shoul
Tesla, I thought that GDI was a Microsoft technology?
Hi again Peter! Good to see that you are making progress! Unfortunately IIRC, when you switch to a low-card diet the carbs that are stored as glycogen in your muscles and liver is gradually lost. The glycogen also binds water which adds to your weight. When I tested a low card diet I lost 5kg in 10 days. Have you made any bodyfat measurements to see if that department has improved?
Is there a virtual desktop docklet for OD+? I can't find one but perhaps I browsed through wincustomize too quickly. That would make me buy OD+ instantly!
Well, I don't smoke and I don't like it. Besides the occasional rare cigar. However, with most things that I have learnt to really, really like, I rarely liked them at the beginning. Coffee, whisky, beer and wine all took some time to get used to and additional time to appreciate. Nowadays, they are the pillars of life. Perhaps smoking is the same way. I don't feel li
I have looked around but I can not find how to remove a blog site on joeuser? Perhaps I'm just blind.
I can see where that would be a limiting factor for this game but I think they were mainly targetting it at a US audience. Perhaps a dev in your country could cut a deal with Brad to make a localized version of it? Unfortunately Sweden is a much too small market for that, I'm afraid. We are only 9 milli
If you feel better it's great! Do not overdo it, though! If you forsake all the good in life you will only relapse! Let it take time and be happy for the small changes to the better! Nine pounds is impressive and I am sure it shows. Hang in there!
