Yea.. but if I am paying 80% + taxes, the planet better be SOOOO nice, that magical floating rainbow monkeys hand feed me golden raisens they pick from the joojoo bushes, whilst I am fanned by the local native girls, all of whom have measurements of 26-23-35, and really really like me. >:( Really tho.. if you are paying THAT high of taxes, how in the world could your morale be high?! I hope they decide to at least make a slider option for how difficult you want it to be to keep peop

I have to agree with Phaedyme. The reason this is a non issue is because this is a SINGLE player game.. one of the reasons they did it this way, imo. If you want to ruin the game for yourself (or enjoy kicking the AI every time), by all means do what you are doing! If it gives you enjoyment, no one is going to complain. And you shouldn't either. ;p If you want a better challange.. don't max the PQ ability. It *does* have three settings. Just choose the +5%, or the +10%.
Well ugh.. I hope they manage to patch this soon. The entire premise behind Wonders *and* Trade Goods is moot if everyone can make them. They have zero importance. In fact, they are worse (for you), since you can't even make the things if another race does. Grrrr... But I'm not upset at the devs. They have been superlative in their efforts to patch this game! :CONGRAT: I just hope it continues to get top priority to fix. Having a worthless feature makes me sad.. (:( <
"Me, I'm not playing these games to role play Mr. Mayor-who-feels-your-pain." Well, that is why multiple settings should be allowed. 3 would be nice. Some people do enjoy managing it. For IMO, why even HAVE morale if it is absolutely no factor in running your empire? Might as well just remove it, if it doesn't actually accomplish something. Also, how realistic is it for you to be paying 80% + taxes.. and LIKING it? Do YOU pay 80% taxes at your job? How upset would you be i
oh.. um, is Carielf a Lady? I was assuming so, but you can't be to sure, and I didn't want to call some poor guy dev a 'she'. For all I know, Carielf could be some dude that likes to um.. carry around elves or something. ;p fleabitfox
I can't find the thread darnit. Someone mentioned that even with the lastest patch, the enemy AI is still building trade goods (and wonders) after you do. Carielf indicated that they only fixed the *multiple* trade goods / wonders issue, and that the other issue with others finishing a trade good after you do is still there. Was Carielf referring to the latest version? If so.. is this going to be fixed soon? IMHO, this is a large problem. I really enjoy getting trade goods before m
Is there any chance someone can snag some of the bajillion ship models available for Space Empires IV, and convert them for use in GalCiv? I have approximately 0% graphics skills (give or take .0001%), so I am relying on you clever people do to this! ;p There was a guy on the regular forums awhile back that had a ton of SEIV ship models he was asking to convert awhile back. If there was a fairly simple procedure to convert these things, I would give it a try myself! I don't suppos
huh.. weird. That is pretty darn fast, to. I usually can build 4 trade goods within 3 years, and usually, it is a very close race for aphrodesiacs (someone sometimes finishes 1 to 2 months before I can.. which sucks. Especially since the bug is still there that lets THEM build something even if you have it already). I don't think I've ever seen them built quite that quickly. fleabitfox
I do believe it was 'nerfed' because to many people were complaining about how difficult it was to keep people happy. I myself loved the challange. LOL What would be nice is a slider on the setup screen with a few settings.. from 'as easy to keep happy as sheep' (current setting), to 'as popular as a door-to-door salesman'. Um.. 'as popular as an alligator in a kiddie pool'? 'as popular as a 4am car alarm concert'? Well.. the last setting shouldn't be very popular! An
There is a button you can leave clicked that shows all autopilot routes in the minimap. Just zoom in for a quick reference where your ships are headed. I DO wish there was a right click option for destinations to show what ships are enroute to that spot/resource/system. I like the option that auto moves your ships, but doesn't skip moves for ships. All they need, imo, is an option that makes it so only a button will toggle all automoves if you so desire. That option, when combined w
Perhaps I am alone in this, but I am finding autopilot to be a pain in my rear. Maybe I am not utilizing it correctly, but I wish there were a few more (or at least a couple of) options. A simple 'autopilot off' option would be great, when I'm in a nasty battle, and I want to micromanage my ships movements. Also, controlling WHEN autopilot goes would be a great help. For instance, I would love for there to simply be another button called 'run auto now' or something. That whe
Saved game or new game? fleabitfox
Yup.. I mentioned this many days ago.. not sure if it is being addressed tho. But early enough in the game, as soon as the Broccoli Heads (Torians) inhabited a new system, the capital icon changed to it. What was odd was that out of the two planets available, a 15 and a 16 PQ, they chose the 15. Go figure! fleabitfox
Yes.. how *would* you know? Perhaps an espionage result should be finding out what they are currently building and researching, if you pump enough money into it. Other than that, you should *not* know when and if they are building a wonder or a trade good. Just be the first, if it is important to your strategy! LOL fleabitfox
Yup. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but once you trade a trade good to another race, they can only benefit from it, right? They can't trade it to anyone else? At least, this is how it SHOULD be. fleabitfox
um.. ursurp is what Uruha does from Star Trek. My race just usurps. :p anyyywayys.. thanks. fleabitfox p.s. I think there is no edit button in the forums because it is far, far to amusing to the devs to *not* have one. they stuff they read has to give them a cuckle.
Awesome.. you rock Brad, thanks! Now the eyyyvl broccoli heads shall RUE the day they tried to ursurp my ability to monopolize really really really smooooth clothing, MuaHaHaHa!! >:( fleabitfox
So.. anyone who is playing the patched version notice if the other races can build trade items after you complete them? fleabitfox
Is the trade goods issue fixed Frogster? That is.. if you finish a trade good now, is it no longer make-able by other races? And can you trade them to selected races that can not trade them to anyone else? Thanks for the patch!! :D fleabitfox
Bumpage? (:( fleabitfox
No, because I didn't get the message about the new group, the I League. Basically no war yet.. still pretty early. Torians had a colony ship enroute to the same system, and I was just going to go past to the next sector which had a yellow or two, and *poof*.. as soon as he inhabited it, it had the crown icon, which I assume (since it was identical to mine) meant that it was their Capital. fleabitfox
Can you change your Capital world? Can the other races? I saw this earlier, and just remembered to ask about it.. it was the only time I've seen this. :p The broccoli heads (Torians) just beat me to a yellow system. Two things then happened. Once, they were stupid and took the lower quality planet in it (the 15 instead of the 16, but it *was* on a lower level.. was just learning!), and more weirdly, the icon for their capital appeared by the system. Huh? They were not at
I've had SO many CTDs! Um.. wait.. I've not had many. In fact.. I've had none at all, MUAHAHAA! ;p ok... sorry. I just feel lucky.. no issues with Stardock, no lockups, no crashes.. heh. fleabitfox
Yup.. I may well stop using it myself. Take that, with the +1 'frisky' bonus so your planets get pop a bit quicker early on, and you can colonize like crazy. It is hard to lose if you start off like this. Later in the game, you snag up all the systems no one wanted. All in all, it may be a bit to powerful, imo. I think that should be a set +5 points to raise your PQ by 1.. I think this would be more fair, in the long run. Raising my PQ by 2 is just insane early in the game. I have
Gotta love it.. when it doubt, SUE! So sick of everyone wanting to sue someone over stupid, senseless things. Just goes to show what some peoples frames of mind are. I'm sure the reference to Deep Space 9 is going to cause the show a terrible dropping of ratings, and overall angst and loss of sleep by the producers. Mental anguish, yea.. sure. :notsure:
