Maybe it is just a ... hmm.. Victory Condition ! LOL Why are all humans so irremediously religious, always seeking "where is beyond" ? May The Final Frontier be ... rationalism ? :D

Maybe they are related to the Great Old Ones of Lovecraftian lore ? :d ;)
Nice idea Cataleptic In fact you advocate for "Spending Governors" ! :) Nice idea. Other possibilily would be to be able to set the sliders as "Governor" data, so using a Governor would set the sliders along to what the queue needs (even if the queue only entails Social Projects there should be a larger vision behind...)
No way to get a nice printed manual via mail outside USA with the Direct buy ?
Welcome to GalSuit Law site ! LOL
Will we be able to create/customize parties with the Editor/Bonuspack/File editing/whatever ? That would be cool ...
Well, mod SE4 as you want, the subject here should rather be what you want in GALCIV mods, no ? ;) I've no problem with SE4 race in GalCiv BTW LOL !
Yes, after reading docs and replays it occurs to me that *maybe* the economics management is tiresome, if you have only 1 global slider telling "X% to mil, Y% to Social, Z% to Science"... Not only you can't adjust to local situation (frontline vs rear..) but also you can't really specialize any planet in anything : if I put lots of Science improvements on a planet, which give me say 200% research, but I'm at war, as I will globally have to put much on military and few on science my planet wo
Where is it ?? Can't find it at SD site, can you please post a link ? Thx
I like the Moo3 forum rules : mods end up editing their posts, the others', and close threads . Lol, they should as well write all the threads themselves !! Did they make some Information Class in Moscow 30 years ago ? LOL
I won't like a MOO forum only saying "WHooo, MOO is uber great" "Nope, UBER Uber great" ... and a GC forum populated with "Hooray, Rever this Game" ..."Yes, Brad is our Prophet !" LOL What would be the point ? Now forums ARE HERE to promote confrontation and discussion about game strengths and weaknesses. If I compare GC to SE4 on MOO forum I'm OT, not if I talk of Moo vs *others*. Same here. And doing this ain't trolling ! BTW I don't post to MOO3 forums, only at Poly'
Send me at least a box please ! :)
Another nice little Strat game is the Samurai game from W.Knizia, the one Brad talked of in the news last week. It's a port of the classic game, very cool and well done. "Demo" is free with limited duration and play options but enjoyable.
Well, forums exist for discussion, I don't see the point of not using them ;p Jerks exist everywhere, on the web, in political parties, in governments, we have to do with. ;)
fleabitfox, How can you say "Really.. in games like MOO2 and SEIV, the only difference was you would inhabit different sorts of planets. The changes for each race was actually pretty minor" and "In fact.. it was sometimes annoying. If I wanted a fighting bonus in ships, I HAD to be the cats, no choice. " ??? That's obviously NOT true, in those 2 games you could customize as much as you want, give ships bonus to Psilon or EEEmpire.. And those DID define the strategy you had to pu
Traviathan, I don't entirely agree with you. taking Se4 or MOO2 as example, you definitely CAN play "aliens" of much different "flavours" (but no background, I concede that), that plays MUCH more differently from each others or from "humans" (even if those are customizable). Taking abilities as MOO2 Lithovore, Telepath, Increased Growth or SE4 Methane-breath or Religious tech made for entirely different strategies. I'm pretty sure that Galciv will give enough customizability (uh ? ;
As long as nothing with registered value arrives to you from overseas customs, can't tax anything. You may be "taxed" by your bank on foreign exchange rate though ! Myself I often purchase imports, and only when I got "big packs" of several games I have been taxed for VAT, the rest went through unnoticed (even if VAT should apply). Obviously you'll be able to burn yourself a CD from your download (I mean nothing will prevent you from copying the installed games files on a CD :) ). It's n
Could TS have a "weak point" à la SW so they can get blown up by a lucky tiny Elite StarFighter ? LOL
I'm Ok for playing Human, but do we have ALSO to play US ? Ships are named by default "USS so-and-so"! ;p It can be a good thing, though, so the next scout I'll make to go through a black hole could be "USS Bush" ... LOL PS : don't take this too seriously, but it is nonetheless a sign of americanocentrism :p
Hum, this the review for the 1994'original OS/2 GalCiv.. But I first looked at the (above average, with some bad) ratings, and only then did I have a doubt ! LOL Good prank, John ! :D
I'm ok with the GalCiv customization range :) But note that it's still "more limited" than in say MOO2 or SE4 where you can have abilities like rock-eating, methane-breathing, mind-control, aquatic life, transwarp, etc... And BTW, Frogboy, did you forget me ? I needed stg for a review .. :sniff!:
On this topic, it would be cool to be able to adjust the "closeness" of the differenrt civ - that is, have a "spread of civs" parameter putting civs more or less close/far from each other (with some random variance) . This will allow to play on a huge map that has plenty of colonization potential while still having early contact with at least some races. If it's entirely random you can end up seeing noone for too long on a big map. But I love big maps because there's more exploration, colony
Woas, I was talking about the BOTF2 project.. I also have BOTF and still enjoy it from time to time. The patch is very easy to find, just did it last week, make a Google search ! :)
What about a civ that doesn't use computers anymore (they have CyberUberBrains) ? When you choose this civ, the PC immediately switches to OFF .... LOL LOL LOL :D
23x23 ... That means 529 sectors, with say 1.5 system/sector and 3 planets/system ... 2380 planets !!!!! HUUUUUUGEEE !! LOL
