BTW, what will the "physical" manual be ? I mean, will we have the same booklets in the retail (that is boxed IIRC) and "direct/DVD" version ? Will we have a real beefy 100+page manual or just a leaflet with the "real" one in PDF/HTML/whatever electronic format ? I should add that I *love* big manuals, that what's make up real Strat games... Compare what you did get with old MoOs, or SE4, with the crap you now often have as a lame excuse of manual... ;p

Great, maybe I'd have preferred it to be one month earlier and have a patch for the new features ... And from what I've read surely Infogrames should have released GalCiv as planned and given the extra month to MOO3 ! LOL I'd really like the kind of dedication the team have, the "save summary" is a very good idea - save names I use, such as "LAST" or "2155" , don't tell me much about what was happening ! :p
SithUK, AFAIK the serial # will be sent via email too, so you won't have to wait for the CD/Box... But why in Hell can't I just preorder NOW direct to StarDock, but can to EBGames or Amazon ?? It doesn't make sense ... They don't want my money ?? :sniff!:
Thanks all, I'm now pretty sure I won't have too much problems playing, I'll buy it, just have to wait for release !! :p
glMatrixMode, in reply to your : "...see what it'd be if the other ones begun using their native languages too.] " Huh, that's what's already happening, the other are US people ... LOL LOL
Ok this looks very good : I'm in France and don't want to wait for weeks before having my game ! Can someone just confirm : * Will we be able to buy "direct" at Stardock and when ? I mean, I've understood that it should be possible, but if by now I want to buy and use the "purchase" button here, I'm directed to EBGames, Amazon etc ... I'd prefer to give my money directly to Stardock and not even go through e-sellers (an habit I took with BattleFront !). Will it be available onl
Jean Paul 2, don't you rather want a Polish localization ? LOL I don't think game is planned to be translated in French, maybe I'm wrong. Je veux bien le faire !
Maybe by now all sellers put P3 600 as minimum req for anything including Solitaire ? LOL LOL
All sellers indicate those reqs for the game - here one taken at EBGames : System Requirements: Minimum requirements: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP; PIII 600 MHz Processor or equivalent; 128 MB of RAM; DirectX 7.0; Compatible Video Card with 8 MB VRAM Recommended requirements: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP; PIII 1000 MHz Processor or equivalent; 256 MB of RAM; DirectX 8.1; Compatible Video Card with 16 MB VRAM I still dont see what is gobbling all that CPU in the game... The multi
Huh, I just stumbled on min system req, and I was shocked to see that a PIII 600 is minimum ! I thought any 2D games could run with anything >300 MHz, it looks like it's not the case ! And unfortunely, I have an old Athlon 500 turd only .. :( The rest of my config is above req : 256 Mb RAM, 64Mb GF2 MX400 card. What will I get in the end ? Will the game be playable or will I experience constant slowdowns and have difficulties just moving the mouse ? :sniff!: I'm
MobRuleR, happy to see that we're at least 2 playing BOTF ! I didn't even try MOO3 with all the debate around, will at least wait for soem patches... In fact it looks like GalCiv will share a good number of features with BOTF : emphasis on background/events, no ship design, rather "abstract" economics but requiring mm... Too bad GalCiv won't feature the nie 3D Tac combat of BotF ! And BTW, did you try BOTF mods ? Some looks very interesting, as they "offset" some of the game weaknes
IMHO SE4 did achieve both good SP and MP (pbem is a blast with this game !). It took some patches and mods to have good AI, but now it works very well, the scripted AI systems allowed for big progress. But I understand Stardock's choice of focusing on SP with a background story/plot rather than trying to please everyone, make a less good SP and a so-so MP as too much games are actually...
I'm a poor guys who came here last year before the beta and am back now just when it's no more available, so never could try the game... :( So well, should we have a demo soon ? I' m also rather curious about the colonization/development systems in the game : I've observed that it was that that make me like or not 4X games... It was cool in Moo1, somewhat tedious in Moo2, cool but limited in BOTF, finally not so good in SE4... I didn't find precise info on the site and the
Thx DarkHelmet, I didn't read the news well - or is it the small font ? :notsure: :) I figured Stardock should sell BY NOW, in fact it'll be available only at the end of the month... Wait wait wait :( Now that a good deal of MOO3 buyers want to return their games, maybe it's time for an early release of GalCiv ? :D :D :CONGRAT:
Hi all, It's been a while I lurk here, now that GalCiv is near ready I step in light ! :) The mass of things I just read about MOO3 tilted definitely the balance towards GC ... I'm a long-time fan of 4X game, from RFST to Moo1,2, BOTF, the last one being SE4. BTW, can someone tell me how GC compares to SE4 ? SE4 is a neat game, with top notch support and great mods available, but I got bored with the micromanagement hell that creeps up mid game, and was disappointed by the feeble e
