I think you should be able to trade with Indies since they are not part of the UP. Often I find my self in all out war where I have no trade routes left or they are all being destroyed and the UP will not let me build terror stars. This would be an ideal time to leave the UP and just complete the TS since I have nothing to lose.

I say make them all work second shift, reduce their medical coverage and pay only 1x wage for overtime. We will break the back of this union. If they go on strike we just throw in the Altarian scabs. ;)

Well my point about stealing lines is that they are not stealing them from characters who are not in the movie. They are taking them from characters who already have active roles. In fact quite often the character is in the same scene. Even in the 1st movie (LOTR) it is not Frodo who comes up with the riddle to open the moongate to the Dwarven City it is Gandalf. WHy change it?? What did it serve?? Nothing...Anyway there is no point in debating it. I am an old grump and set in my ways, so I will

Grathocke, I quite agree that you cannot make a novel into a movie and do it literally. Though I was not a film major I did room with one in college (does that qualify me to continue???) ;) There are specific parts of TTT that departed from the novel and yet did nothing to improve the movie. For instance why take lines from secondary characters and give them to main characters, it was not the hobbits who tricked the Ents into attacking and the king of Rodin called the charge at Helmsdeep. T

Hey yeah, I didn't even notice the Veteran Statis. That is cool, thank you omnipotent Galciv person who made me a veteran (would that be CariElf??). Grathocke, don't get me wrong. I enjoyed TTT, as a stand alone movie it is excellent. Just when you compare it to the previous movie and to the actual novel (TTT) it falls a bit short.

This seems like a good thread to express my gratitude to Brad, CariElf, and everyone at Stardock for an excellent game and incredible support. For me Galciv is a great game but it is only a game and the forum is a part of that game. But for you folks at Stardock who have invested countless hours and effort into creating Galciv it is a as much a part of your life as it is a job. I also agree in general with Pontius (strange). Although I think that the Empire Strikes Back, Aliens, and T2 are some exceptions to the rule. It seems that the Two Towers was intended to only be a filler to get you from the excellent first movie to (what had better be an) excellent third movie. That is not to say that there weren't excellent parts to TTT (The Two Towers). [Message Edited]
