So close and yet so far. But I do have hope. Labor Day is around the corner, the crops will come in school starts and folke will want to neglect there responsibilities and escape into GalCiv.

Another overcast day here in Western Michigan. The Great Lakes are both a curse and a blessing. It seems we have had one of the wettest summers I can remember. On the plus side the temperature has only reached 90 twice this year (so far). I everyone has a great weekend. Hopefully I will finally finish a game (and submit it properly).
I only have a small portion of time to allocate to my hobbies (Galciv being one of them). That said Baseball dpesn't get much attention at all. I may watch a few playoff games and some of the world series if I care about the team(s). Baseball is just too slow paced.
I only pay attention to College Football. They just seem to play with more heart and every game counts. In pro you can lose a bunch of games and still win the championship. In college if you lose one you could lose your chance at the championship, lose two and you can forget it (depending on how everyone else is doing for the year).

I agree with Rabid Rob, Corvettes do rule. I have won a couple of games by building massive corvette fleets. The Dregin do not bully you when they see the massive (albiet weak) fleet. It buys you time to develope.
The Irish seem to have good days and bad days. Some times they just don't show up like SC and BC, and other days they deal out some major butt kicking like Michigan and Florida State. I just hope they are more consistant this year. They really need a new quarterback. It has been a soft spot for some time now.
Michigan is due a good season, I will give them that and I live in Glorious Michigan.....but I graduated ND so after they lose to ND I wish them the best for the rest of their season. I am also in the middle(late) of a gigantic/tough and all that is left is the screaming. Another days worth of playing at most now that the Dregin have surrendered (yes surrendered) to me. Yes Pontius it is close to harvest time and with the harvest comes football. I can here the echoes stirring and the thunder shaking. We are all brother midwesterners but when it comes to our college football teams....well its a good thing we still have that midwestern heritage to hold us together. :) <br
Man the front page of the Metaverse (0-25) looks like a GROSS role call. Those Anzac recruits and Grosses new drive are really pushing them on. Time to role up our sleeves.
