In my game when I had the high population, I was playing a peaceful builder strategy while on the left side of the map. For mods I had all the mods on the library submitted around the week of 4/10 or so. A large part of my end population came from culturally assimilating the other races such as the Altarians and Torians who had several trillion people which was actually more then I had for a large period of time. ~SDC~

Was there something done to the Metaverse scoring? I just noticed that several scores that had been submitted to the Metaverse vanished. My score of 25k and 2 other 35k+ scores have also disappeared. ~SDC~

At the beginning I'll send my scouts as far as they can go in several different directions. If I can get Eyes of the Universe the process will be even faster. ~SDC~

Theres a battle simulator here http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/simulator.asp that you can use to simulate battle outcomes. As for a single dreadnaught taking out a starbase, it can happen and you need to watch that. Best thing to do would be to garrison ships there and wait until you get more defensive modules researched. ~SDC~
