They're probably leasing most of those ships and extorting all the other races for cash and tech to help pay for it. While the Drengin might usually dominate the early game, they're not cheating while they do it. ~SDC~

Anti-matter missiles are still good then, depending on your luck and stats, one easy to build anti-matter missile can destroy that expensive avatar. Several occurences of this can easily give you a military advantage as avatars and overlords build at a slower speed and cost more maintenance then anti-matter missiles. Just make sure you have some backup ships to take care of transports and other low class ships. ~SDC~
You get combat transports when you research battleship tech, but a regular transport should be able to invade if there aren't any defending ships left. ~SDC~
You need to move a transport or combat transport into the planet when there are no enemy ships left in orbit. ~SDC~
Diplomacy can be affected by your relations with the race and your diplomacy level compared to theirs. They'll accept the trade once the text in the middle of the screen changes to green. ~SDC~
Oh thats what that landmass was! I was thinking it was just random art... ;) ~SDC~
I like battlehammers and anti-matter missiles. After all, the best defense is a good offense. :) ~SDC~
I just did a refresh data and it doesn't show up, although 4/21 is listed as when it was last updated. ~SDC~
The update for the 21st is a pre-release. To see it in sdc go to tools, and select the show pre-release button if you wish to get it. ~SDC~
The AI gets no advantages besides knowing where the yellow stars are until Genius and Incredible difficulty. In fact, at all levels below intelligent they are penalized. ~SDC~
Drengin - Pure Evil Yor - Chaotic Evil Arceans - Neutral Torians - Chaotic Good Altarians - Pure Good ~SDC~
You'll have better relations with other good and neutral races which can lead to them helping you out against a evil race in a war. ~SDC~
The AI will take the planet class into consideration if you offer it as part of a trade. ~SDC~
They'll offer to trade technology with you sometimes. I'd imagine difficulty level would also play a factor in how often the AI is willing to trade for tech. ~SDC~
That should be when evil could get screwed up top. ~SDC~
Yeah I personally like playing good myself as you never know when could get screwed by the good races. Although some of those evil choices are just to good to pass up... :) ~SDC~
You need to be at a close relationship with them, and they also need to have the alliance tech. ~SDC~
None of the bonuses are being given to me when I choose one of your new parties. The game will also crash at the first election. ~SDC~
The mods in the library are legal to use. Mods you make yourself aren't. ~SDC~
I personally use missiles for a few reasons. They're cheap to build, low maintenance costs, and one of them can take out almost any ship the AI has. When you build these you do get quite a bit of military power but it can be deceiving. And I personally would think twice about messing with someone who could lay waste to my nice capital ship fleet. Once you actually get into a war, if you're not careful you can watch your military power drop significantly due to expenditure of missiles.
You can use your political party, you just can't submit a game you won with it to the metaverse. ~SDC~
1) There is a chance you can steal their technology through espionage already. I've never actually had it happen to me though. 2) I'm fine with the way it is now, having it that way could just make it harder to find that specific project you're trying to build. 3) When you're purchasing ships or buildings, its something that the materials and knoweldge for are already available. When you're researching tech, you're trying to discover the knoweldge of something new. After al
It depends on how fast your cultural buildup goes. If you just start sending out a lot of constructors to build culture starbases, its possible to get the culture victory without a single planet defecting to you. ~SDC~
They also need to have the alliance tech before you can ally with them. ~SDC~
I agree that speed should certainly be more of a factor in metaverse scores. There should really be no significant difference in taking the cultural win or alliance victory now, or waiting many turns later for a tech victory. ~SDC~
